Nice. Ich habe ihn. Es ist wie er in der Rune mit uns mit uns. Amazing. Big surprise.

Race for the Hives: Aktueller Stand und Einblicke

00:07:56

00:07:56 First off, we'll be talking about the Race for the Hives again. We mentioned this in the last episode, by then it had just started. Yeah. And now we're like two weeks in. Yeah, and the numbers have changed a lot. When I first revealed the numbers, like the preliminary, it had only been like 14 hours. And like after that, it just completely changed. So, well, completely. I mean, it did change a lot. Yes. So the numbers went sky high, but it's actually interesting how like, anyway.

00:08:25 All right, I know you're all into the numbers, and we have a wrap-up on the screen right now that shows the current standing, but this is not how we started two weeks ago. It's not what it's been like the last weeks either. No. What's been happening? Tell us. So, well, the Triglavians took a stunning lead and have slowly been going down as the other factions have kind of more aggressively started grinding. Going down.

00:08:54 In particular, it's really interesting to see how the Angel Cartel has been faring. Minmatar got a massive boost from their harmonics, but a lot of people also don't know that Trigladians got a massive boost from their harmonics. So they were in the lead, and it helped maintain their lead to have those harmonics. Yeah, there you go. Thank you, CCP Convict. So we've been seeing a lot of people being like,

00:09:20 Did they properly counter Harmonix? Did they properly counter Harmonix? Yes, we did. And you can see them on the screen here. So Minmatar got the most, almost twice as much as the next runner-up, which is the Triglavians who were already in the lead. And that was one of the big upsets on Day 8, was the adjustment from the Harmonix causing Minmatar to shoot up and the Triglavians to...

Was waren sie? So, da waren...

00:10:15 um the ships that went in there had harmonics on them which are like items that can be researched to better understand the the whole system that spoilers so i don't want to elaborate too much uh and that's and then when uh players sold them to like the factions uh in question

All right.

00:12:00 My group and I, we've been running these sites for a while. We've been doing them since pretty much the start of the Drifter Crisis, but our approach has shifted massively since the Race 45 started. We've been grinding nonstop to make a mark and back in the top five. Oh no. But for me personally, I don't do well with numbers and graphs. I have no favorites. I don't do well with numbers and graphs, and these graphs are relative. So can you explain a little about how I should be reading these?

00:12:24 Ja, so... Do we have a chance to get back in the top 5, is what I'm asking. So, like, if things keep going the way they're going, which, that's not how things work. Yeah, especially Eib. Especially Eib. Like, heck, going back to the Drifter Crisis, before Race for the Hives, the reason that the Minmatar were attacked was because of a last-minute reversal. They were not...

00:12:51 der Hauptsache, der Hauptsache, der Hauptsache. So, asterisks, asterisks, asterisks. All of this can change very quickly. But if things keep going, it does look like the Amara might overtake the Angels. Drumrolls. Good news for you!

00:13:10 Bad news for the Angels. Also, probably bad news for us now, because the Angels are listening in right now. Exactly. They're grinding again, too. You guys are fine. I'm just glad that my income got in there. Oh, man. Like I signed up for, and I started doing some heavy grinding because I wanted to plug suit on all my characters. And I refused to purchase it. So, yeah. Yeah, no. I mean, it definitely feels better to earn it. For sure.

Es gibt oft eine Suspicion von E.V.A.V.A.V.A.V.A.V.A.V.A.V.A.V.A.V.A.V.A.V.A.V.A.V.A.V.A.V.A.V.A.V.A.V.A.V.A.V.A.V.A.V.A.V.A.V.A.V.A.V.A.V.A.V.A.V.A.V.A.V.A.V.A.V.A.V.A.V.A.V.A.V.A.V.A.V.A.V.A.V.A.V.A.V

Ja. Nice. Big Nerds, ich liebe es. Oh, yes. Oh, ich liebe es. I would spend all day in those Excel-Sheets, zu be honest.

00:15:29 But you can't, because there's more still coming and we need to work on that too. Yes, yeah, no, I have so much to do. So the event runs for seven more days, if I'm correct? Yes, approximately. It ends at 11 EVE time on April 3rd. Right, so we better get the grind on and get those points.

00:15:49 But you also told me something really cool just now before we went live. Oh, yeah. You have some really good news for these nerds that also love numbers. Yes, so if you love numbers like I do. I asked permission and I got permission to just release the raw numbers at the end. So instead of like relative percentages and all that, like just what I got to see this whole time, like straight up points.

00:16:17 You'll be able to see them yourself and make your own propaganda. Where are they going to find this? Is this going to be in the Discord channel you've been sharing the graphs in? Or are we going to publish them somewhere else too? Or have you just not thought about this at all yet? No, I just got permission to give them. The means of distribution has not been decided yet. We'll make sure it's easy to access. Alright. Yeah, you've been giving really regular updates in the EVE Online Discord.

00:16:45 Just like every morning, kind of like where the standings have shifted. And the New Eden News has also been giving some updates every few days as well. So like the in-character reporting, if you want to keep it that way. But yeah, do head over to the EVE Discord and check out the post from Susquee Wanderer. I'm not going to make you commit to doing it every morning, but it's been like every morning. It's been pretty consistent. On Friday, I was...

00:17:09 super feverish and he still signed in post post post post post post post post post post post post post post post post post post post post post post post post post post post post post post post post post post post post post post post post post post post post post post post post post post post post post post post post post post post post

Ja. Und es ist die letzte Woche bevor. Ja, so wir haben die höchste Aktivitäten. Okay, ich bin schon nervös. Es ist nicht nur noch ein Wochenende. Komm schon, Leute. Du kannst das nicht machen. Ja. Es fühlt sich wie du Ryan Sechrest, die Handling out die Roses für The Bachelor und dann...

00:18:16 I hope other people besides me get this reference, by the way. Yes, I do. Well, whatever. What is television? They build suspense, and we're going to accidentally build suspense this weekend. Are you sure it's accidental now? All planned. I'll bring a bouquet of roses you can then hand out to... The winners. Yeah. Alright, thank you so much, CCP Wonder, for coming and sharing the story of what's been going on in the past week. Yeah, my pleasure.

00:18:45 It's always fun to talk to you too. Thanks for coming on and with that we're going to take a quick break and do some shuffling around and then we'll be right back to talk about what the community has been up to in the past two weeks other than the Race for the Hives. Nice.

Schiffsfittings und Community-Ressourcen für EVE Online Events

00:20:17

00:20:17 So couch is a little more empty, but we'll fix that later on, don't worry. For now, CCP Swift. I kind of wanted to talk about where people can find fittings for these events, because I really, really suck at making my own ship fittings. So I always go to EVE Workbench, but you tell me. You know fitting. Okay, so you're right. Fitting in EVE is kind of a bit of an art form and also can be really intimidating. When I was first fitting ships in the game,

00:21:09 But a heatsink sounds like it does. Like I have a heatsink on my computer and it works better. I'll just put a heatsink on my rail guns. That makes sense, right? And so I was doing that and I was like, oh yeah, now I'm really owning these rats. Doing so much better. My guns are better. Everything's good. And then, of course, I blew up. And then a court mate of mine went out to my rec and they were like, hey, why do you have so many heatsinks in here? What are you doing? Yeah, because this is before like kill males really existed. It would only show what dropped.

00:21:37 In the Kill Mail. And they were just like, yeah, you had a bunch of like Tech 2 Heatsinks, which are like pretty pricey mods for someone starting out. And they don't drop from NPCs. So like, where'd you get them? I was like, oh yeah, I just wanted to buff my damage for my Thorax. They were like, yeah, kid, you're doing the wrong stuff. So this is something that everyone will encounter. And you're right, EVE Workbench is a great resource for players to use. The EVE Workbench is actually just like...

00:22:32 Pray and hope for the best. Exactly. How do we judge which ones are good and which ones are kind of not? Well, for EVE Workbench, they have a great system where you can thumbs up, thumbs down. A lot of EVE streamers will also put videos to go along with it, which is great. And the other thing that you were alluding to is community fittings, which exist within the confines of the game if you don't want to go out to a third-party site or something. So we recently updated with the help of iBeast.

00:23:28 You can downgrade some modules if they don't fit. You can add a power diag or an RCU if you need. Tweak out the rigs a little bit if you need to get some extra fitting room in there. But they've made them really friendly for everyone. So if you want to try stuff like factional warfare and you've never done it before, you can just grab some fits, buy 10 of them, have them shipped to where you want in the war zone and just go out and lose ships. And then at least then you won't be able to...

00:23:55 Blame the fit for why you lost. It will just be you. Yeah, exactly. It'll be your fault. And just other people in the game. But yeah, this is a great resource just for getting involved. And like CCP Wanderer is saying, even though the event's been going on for some time, you can still absolutely get in right now and make a huge impact. You can go in and start from zero and get the final reward. And you can help your whatever kind of alliance or faction you want to support.

00:24:23 You could help them kind of get to the top spot a little bit. I can definitely concur on that. I think I did most of it like last weekend in two or three days and made it to the 2,000 points. I'm a little over now, still going. Gotta keep those points up. Impressive grind you put up if you did it in that amount of time. So I tried doing it solo first and I did a lot of just the hacking sites.

00:24:46 Explow is sort of my main go-to when I try this stuff. Then I pivoted to the Deepflow Rift sites because they paid out better in points and it would go faster. They're actually really fun. Yeah. And then I started doing the group content because we had like a daily standing fleet up and we just zoom around in our little Punishers. And it just works great. So if you've got like three people, the sites are perfect for that, honestly. Yeah, that is a really good point. And so there's stuff with, as you pointed out, if you don't have to have a big group to do it with.

00:25:15 There are some solo things in there. We just always refer to it as phishing. The phishing sites can be done solo. The hacking sites can be done solo. The good thing about the phishing sites also is that they're all over high-sec, probably also low-sec, but if you just want to keep it safe and want to do it fast, just go high-sec, jump five systems and you'll find, unlike all the other sites where you have to go to an actual crisis system. Yeah.

00:25:42 Oh, Crisis Systems looks so cool, though. They do. They're so pretty. Yeah. But you bring up a good point where you do stuff in groups. Sometimes, yeah. And I know there's a couple people who are like, I've run into them and they're like, eh, my group, like, we live out in NullSec or we live in Wormholes. I don't have enough, like, friends to go do, like, pull four people and run these sites. Well, good thing we have something for that, don't we? Yes, you were talking about this, actually.

Gemeinschaftsinitiativen und öffentliche Flotten in EVE Online

00:26:10

00:26:10 Mainly, we had our own standing fleet, but we have actually opened up our standing fleet to other people who are in the crisis systems and we were looking for people, especially when we're low on numbers. So we make our fleet public. And there's like a whole bunch of groups around who do that. You also have obviously the MPSI groups that go for PvP rooms, but they're also out there for the PvE content. Right on. Yeah, I know the Arataka Research Consortium, like that's always my go-to place whenever there's something happening with the storyline of EVE.

00:26:38 Oh, yes, it should be. Yeah, because they're always, like, some of the most dedicated. And they're so welcoming to, like, helping you catch up with 20 years of lore in some cases. Oh, yeah. And they've got, like, an explain, like, on five sections. So they'll just, like, quickly go out and tell you. They organize public fleets. So you can go out and just, like, ah, I want to bring something that's really low. Like, just, I want to try it out to see if I like it.

00:27:04 Maybe someone's not on in my time zone. They'll even have ships for you. Yeah, you can get ships, they'll supply that. And you can go and run these sites. And who knows, maybe you'll make a friend. Maybe you'll make a lifelong enemy that you'll hunt to the ends of the Earth. That's the fun thing I find about our Attack on Research Consortium. There's people from all over New Eden. All the factions are there together and they all just are friendly.

00:27:31 Where's the animosity? Where's the warg? Yeah, I'm sure it'll come somewhere. Eventually. Maybe when the event continues and gets on to its next phase, there'll be a little bit more cutthroatiness in there. But you're right. They're all incredibly friendly people. I've seen people that are red to each other. Technically, one's in the Initiative and one might be in Horde, and they're like, any other situation, they'd be shooting each other. But this one, they're just like...

00:27:58 Es ist okay, wir machen das Ding. Es geht nicht. Wir haben nicht die Standings. Das ist nicht das Time. Ja.

00:28:50 It's for content, please. Everyone knows you so well. You're just a primary. I'm not washed yet. Every single time. But yeah, so he took us out on fleets. And that's not just abnormal either. You don't have to be a developer to go on those fleets. He opens up his fleets along with Chaos. One crazy monkey also opens up public fleets. They'll just run a couple sites together based on how many people are in the fleet. So if they've only got four or five people.

Good job. Oh, you. Wir haben noch etwas über das später.

00:30:17 But still, I mean, do we think the Treglavians got that massive head start? Because there's a whole bunch of streamers who went rooting for the Treglavians right from the beginning. Yeah, and it was actually really funny. On the CSM, we have... They were getting involved with it as well, because they wanted to... There are people... Drake is from the Pakman area, so obviously he's rooting for the Treglavians. Seto and Bandapart... Not Bandapart. Deepwater Hooligans are like...

00:30:45 Oh, ja. Oh, ja.

00:31:14 I don't do the database querying that he does all the time in the spreadsheets. So I have to just sit. I have to just wait for him. Yeah. Honestly. Exactly. We just wait around. We know about. We can see him walking to his computer and we're like, okay, let's focus on Discord. Let's get ready. Yeah. See how it's going to go. It's been really exciting. And it's fun to kind of just try something new and just shake things up. Oh, yeah. Because that's something that I always suffered from when I was like.

00:31:40 playing eve very very actively you've been always been like an also player right yeah so i've been done uh kind of everywhere in eve but like if i find if i do the same thing over and over too much i get like burnout goes so much faster and so i really like to vary things up so being able to just as you were saying just kind of vibe in highsec running some of these sites uh or just go to low sec and kind of like hunt people that are running these sites because you can kind of like once you learn the mechanics

Great ship.

Ja. Nicht an all meinen Alten, nicht an all. Aber still.

00:34:50 Stolen beards for a little bit. Yes, that happened. Can you explain what happened there? Not really, actually. One day we logged in and characters with beards were completely shaven. The engine team figured this out and put out a fix. We had some great bug reports and reproduction steps for this. It was one of the more fun memes in the community for that week.

00:35:46 He actually didn't say that, but I like to manifest that into existence. I mean, I've been trying to get the whole team to shave their beards for this and then come on beardless, but that's also not been a success. Yeah, yeah, I'm super hypocritical on that one. I am not doing it, but I can at least peer pressure CZB Jotun into doing it. I'm pretty sure to help. Yeah. So we were talking about how this is a really fun event and how New Eden feels alive right now.

Community-Events und Spieler-Treffen in EVE Online

00:36:11

00:37:05 10,000 Frigates to anyone who comes in and they just say, okay, do stuff with them. Have fun. Yeah, and it's in low sec, obviously, so you're going to get shot and killed. But they have other, like, kind of, I don't want to say stage events, but they have, like, little events and, like, mini events that you can do to, like, funnel people around in the system. So there will be, like, maybe a capital ship that you can go and shoot at a little bit at the top belt. Or there will be...

00:37:33 At the sun there will be like a Marauder that's shooting everyone and then everyone just kind of like Zerg rushes them. Oh yeah. This year it's going to be an Amamaki and the issue that you talked about about getting ganked on the station that's going to be a little bit downplayed because I think they're staging out of the Amamaki Keepstar. Oh I'm going to have to give it a new shot and actually get out in space instead of just stuck on your dog. But it is that's another thing that's like so fun to do because it's so hilariously chaotic like you can go out and just get a free frigate.

No way!

Ja, CCB Lumi approves von shooting your Blues. Ja.

00:40:17 All right, that's what's going to happen next weekend. But we also had, I don't remember the day it was, but another cool thing that popped up on Reddit. And it's actually the reason why we chose Astradios for On The Table today. Yes. Astradios made from Lego and it looks so cool. Yeah, it was. I mean, look at that. It's even got the same skin. It's just astounding. I'm just like looking at the model and it's just so fascinating.

00:40:46 Just the design of it. And once players saw this, very silly, posted the images to Reddit, players were like, oh cool, this is nice. How do I make it? Great design. I would like instructions on how to do it, a list of pieces on how to build it, and I also want to see the finished product. So the designer for it, I think also got peer pressured a little bit into committing

00:41:42 A fun event with Star Citizen, where we, as developers, just both went out to their studio. We were both engaging with our communities, building cool ships. E-Players made some amazing designs, way cooler than anything else. I mean, it's E-Players. Yeah. Of course they are. That I could imagine. And yeah, then Susie Bezealous was our designated builder, and he went out and tried to build stuff on a time limit.

00:42:09 It was a very chaotic, a very amazing show as well. Maybe not the time limit, but I still thought we'd have a Wednesday Lego day at some point. Yeah, that's a good idea. I like it. Let's ship it. Eventually, we'll be making Lego at some point. Yes, firmly soon. There's one person who... Is it Comey Valentine, maybe? Who made the very minimalistic Lego designs, where it's just like three pieces. Wait, what?

00:42:52 Whoever made them, I want to see the pictures. I feel like this is a challenge for EVE players to make the most ship-looking three-piece Lego. Yeah. But man, that design, it looks cool. I would rather have that design than this very cool design as well. Just...

00:43:13 You should give it to us. Just send it over to Iceland. Bring it to FanFest if you're coming to FanFest. Don't do anything but build it for the next five weeks. And bring it and leave it with us. Yes, please. We'll have a lot of respect. We will. Alright, and then another thing that happened last weekend. CCP Conflict, we're going to need you over here, actually. Okay.

00:43:40 If New Orleans was this weekend. I'll be just looking at all the cables on the ground. Yeah, just making sure I don't trip on anything. Let's stand too long in front of the camera with like my junk right up in the mirror or something like that. Just a good screenshot of just like since we climbed the butt. Yeah, my new screensaver. No face planting in the couch. Yeah, no, we're so far. I mean, I've got to make it back yet, so we'll see. We'll just get started. Yeah. Even New Orleans this weekend. There were gators. Tell me more. There were gators.

00:44:06 So, yeah, Delana Evo from Pandemic Hoard has been sort of organizing this event for the last few years now. It wasn't originally started by her, but she's taken it over. She organizes a hotel block at a local hotel, and she has a Discord, which you can go and join. And every time New Orleans rocks around for the meetup, gets promoted. Anyone can show up. There was about 25 or so people who came this year. It was a mix of people from around New Eden and from around...

00:44:33 you know states and the world we had a bunch of people fly over from uk and from germany as well to hang out and it's a really cool player gathering if you've if you've been to like a bigger play gathering like a fan fest or an e-vegas or something before you know they have a formal program they have people making presentations these are this is more like just a big pub meet it's really just hanging out with other eve players um going to a bar having a drink and then also during the days

00:45:18 Why marshmallows? I don't know, but that's what they were tossing around in the water to get the gators to come up. They love those things. Okay, and I've also seen some pictures, and I believe hot dogs were in full. Yes, there were hot dogs. Tempting the gator with some hot dogs. We'll probably put those in the Community Beat this weekend so people can check them out. But it gave me a great idea for EVE Online. So if you want to get kitchen sinkhole, right, to come out of a wormhole, if you can just, like, chuck a marshmallow out the front of the wormhole.

00:45:45 all these gators will come flooding out i feel like you're just gonna go fishing to a wormhole now yeah basically wormhole fishing yeah yeah uh with with marshmallows as bait to catch kitchen sinkhole because their their logo is a giant gator or some sort of reptilian yeah it's it's like sunglasses no it doesn't have sunglasses i'm thinking of another one yeah uh but yeah but we have to get marshmallows in the game somehow now we have to like

00:46:11 Make an Eve or New Eden variant of the marshmallow. Let's just relabel Snowballs. Yeah. You know, like between Winter Nexuses, we just renamed them to be Marshmallows. Nice. That's the ticket. I like it. But yeah, we did that. We went to like the aquarium. Delana hosted a crawfish boil around her place where we all went, you know, with the tables all lined up and the tents and just like a massive bucket piled high with like cooked crawfish. Very Louisiana.

00:47:03 also in australian but living in seattle and he's organizing a seattle meetup later this year august august yeah and we we hung out at a place called vick's kangaroo cafe please tell me that was an australian mark yeah yeah it was it was it was very australian themed yeah and they had my my favorite beer

00:47:25 was it which you can't get anywhere no no oh no ccp sweet australia's don't drink but i know i know yeah yeah no no no no cooper's pale ale cool yep so how much of the bill did you have like to stock up for the next while until you can get it we had a lot but still not enough yeah oh yes one of those things uh but no i had a great time that was really really cool hanging out with all those guys yeah those size player meets are kind of my favorites yeah

Oh, so bad. Aber so, ich bin da, ich bin da, ich bin da, ich bin da, weil ich da, ich bin da, weil ich da, weil ich da, weil ich da, weil ich da, weil ich da, weil ich da, weil ich da, weil ich da, weil ich da, weil ich da, weil ich da, weil ich da, weil ich da, weil ich da, weil ich da, weil ich da, weil ich da, weil ich da, weil ich da, weil ich da, weil ich da, weil ich da,

00:48:20 Other time Gobbins and Shadoo. And they were, I was like, I'll never see these guys again. So I'll just show up to this place. They have no idea what I look like. They might know what I sound like from like Mumble and Bend. But I'll just be quiet. And I'll just like scope them out a little bit. Instantly like heard a voice that I recognized. And I was like, hey, what are you doing? And just got to talking. Next thing I knew was like six hours later. And I got up. That's how they usually go. Yeah. And then I just went to eVegas. And then I went to eFanfest.

00:48:49 And then I ended up here, which is absolutely crazy. Same trajectory for me, right? So it was about 2010-ish, I want to say, when I was really playing EVE super intensely. And I think I watched the live stream for FanFest or something that year. And I was like, man, I would like to hang out with some EVE players, you know, just some nerds like me, you know, who get it. And so I went on the EVE Online forums and in the out of...

00:50:05 so we decided to go we got on a plane we flew to sydney we stayed in the most flea bitten by awful like hostel uh because we're both we're both being super cheap yeah and we went to this event and that was the first eve down under and at the end of that event the guy organizing it was just going around asking if anyone wanted to come out for dinner that night and i said sure i'll go and i uh so i went out uh with them and while we're at dinner i'm like you know this event was really good

Fanfest in Vegas, als EVE Down Under.

00:51:06 um that's how i got involved with a whole you know other corporations alliances i've been in uh when i was involved with eve bet that's like made contacts through people that i met through that as well and then ultimately it really helped me sort of like

00:51:18 um get known around ccp and so when the this job came up like people kind of like knew me and you know knew my chops away from organizing you've done under and things like that it was really good see i feel like i've done this like the total opposite way from the two of you because yeah yeah fanfest was my very first i wasn't even playing eve yeah it was my very first eve meet yeah and i mean it just escalated from there because like fanfest is the reason i play eve yep

00:51:41 Und dann... Rather than the other way around. ...I went to FanFest again, and then I got talking to CCP people, and now I live here, and I do this. And I get to go to the EVE events, too, and it's amazing. That was one of the great things about you, though, because you came to FanFest, not as an EVE player, and you came and volunteered. Well, that was the second time. The first time I was pretty much like a plus one, and I only did the social stuff, and I just had too much fun there. And then I was like, my partner wanted to go back, and I'm like...

00:52:09 Okay, fine. Guess I'll just go volunteering or something because I love events. Events are so great. It was cool that you just roll your sleeves up and go, I can go. Might as well do something. Yeah, make myself useful and help out. Yeah, I remember yelling at you that time. Sorry about that.

00:52:23 I will never ignore you again. She was right. There was a raffle. It looked like a cargo container made out of cardboard. And it was full of stuff. And I just walked over to the raffle area. I'm like, oh, this looks neat. I went to pick it up. And she's like, don't pick that up.

Oh, shit. Was? Eine von den Bakesquaren Tiles.

00:53:03 This is why it became so happy. Yeah, right. And then you went and lit it up and you're like, oh my God, the thing is going to come falling. I should never have doubted you. It happened to this day. Yeah. Oh, thank you. Appreciate it. But yeah, you said everyone should go to EveMate. Yeah. It doesn't have to be so complicated. You have to go to Vegas or you have to go to FanFest or to New Orleans. There is many of these meetups. Yeah. And smaller ones, bigger ones, whatever suits your fancy. And there's actually one this weekend. And it's in Glasgow.

00:53:33 Nice. And CSB Conflict, correct me if I'm wrong, but I think you've been one-to-one of these, right? Yeah, I went to the EVE Players Go Meetup, I want to say about two years ago, I think it was. I was just due to take a little bit of a break and I was sort of like, hmm, what should I do with myself?

Hanging out mit nerds in a bar. Highly qualifies as work. So, ja, so, ja, ich decided to fly to Glasgow und check that out.

00:54:14

00:54:14 all walks of life in new eden as well as people who come from outside of the city as well either from you know further south in england or even from uh from europe proper uh and yeah just had a great afternoon hanging out with all of those nerds and talking about eve online uh met some doggos because it was a dog friendly bar so people put their doggos down so that was very cool it's it's just always like floored me at

00:55:01 Was just happened? Yeah, it's an awesome little icebreaker. I had similar conversations with that with people in New Orleans. It's really cool how being an EVE player, you're part of like, it's not the world's biggest MMO, so if you meet someone else who's into the EVE online as well, you're really like, okay, there's something about this person who, we've got some common ground here, you've got foot in the door.

00:55:25 I tell a story about going back to before when I mentioned that I went to Eve Down Under for the first time just as a player, the first time they launched that. Prior to that, I'd only been to a handful of pub meetups in the place that I was living. And the first day at the hotel, when I got up and went downstairs and I'm going to the hotel restaurant to get some breakfast, as I'm walking through the restaurant...

00:55:48 At every single table all around me, everyone there is talking about Eve. And I'm just picking up references to Hot Drop and Gank and stuff like that. And I sort of stopped and I looked around and there's hundreds of people having breakfast all talking about Eve online. I'm like, I'm amongst my people. This is fantastic. It was so validating. I'm not crazy. Other people like this too. So, yeah. E-Player meetups can also be very validating. Good for your mental health. I'll endorse it. And also just like...

00:56:40 Oh, damn, I can't remember the character name now, but one of the people at Eve New Orleans was the guy who leads the Horde's Praetorian SIG. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And they've been clowning around in Delve now for like the last couple of months, and there were a few, a couple of other Horde people there who just sort of kind of like have been AFK from the game for a year or two, and he was just telling them all the crazy shit they've been doing over the last few weeks, and they're like...

00:57:31

00:57:31 All right, so future events. We try and list them in the Community Beat, so definitely check those out if you haven't yet. Yeah, we publish that every second Friday. Did we mention that before? Every second Friday we publish the Community Beat, which includes a whole bunch of stuff like we've talked about now, but also these event dates. Yeah, for sure. And then if you want to organize something, please, please, please get in touch with us because we would love to help you. Yeah, it doesn't have to be like the biggest event. It could just be...

Oh, right. Und dann haben wir Leute von all over Süddeutschland. Ja, das ist toll. Neat.

00:58:26 Ja. Ja. Ja. Ja. Ja. Ja. Ja. Ja. Ja. Ja. Ja. Ja. Ja. Ja. Ja.

00:58:46 We'll be happy by the time... Yeah, that's right. When it actually starts, when FanFest actually kicks off and the first people start arriving in Iceland... Once it's inevitable, then it's time. But until then, it's just like you're on a plane that's just landed and it's heading towards the end of the runway and you're like, oh god, we'll have enough space to stop in time. It's like I told CTP Swift this earlier today in the office. I've been organizing events for a while now, right? Yeah.

00:59:12 every single time i feel like oh this is this is gonna go smooth and every single time the last month before the event is like what am i doing yes it will be surprises yeah it will be great once once you're in it yeah once you get in it it'll be awesome yeah but we're super excited to have like nerds here and it's so cool in Reykjavik as well because the city is like small yes so when you add like a few thousand eve players they are everywhere like the thing you were talking about same effect

Fanfest-Atmosphäre und lokale Wahrnehmung

00:59:40

Billboards at the airport, und all that kind of stuff.

Und jeder weiß, dass C.C.P. und Y.V.E.B.S.A.B.S.A.B.S.A.B.S.A.B.S.A.B.S.A.B.S.A.B.S.A.B.S.A.B.S.A.B.S.A.B.S.A.B.S.A.B.S.A.B.S.A.B.S.A.B.S.A.B.S.A.B.S.A.B.S.A.B.S.A.B.S.A.B.S.A.B.S.A.B.S.A.B.S.A.B.S.A.B.S.A.B.S.A.B.S.A.B.S.A.B.S.A.B.S.A.B.

01:00:33 Oh, I've got to go either. Thank you so much for joining us, and it was great chatting with you, CCB Swan. Yeah, always really good. I love the format of this show. Thanks so much for having us. Thank you to CCB Wander, CCB Convict as well. A little ghost on the couch. See you next time. Don't know when next time is yet, because the next edition is slated to be right before FanFest, and that might be too much to ask, but we will be back.

01:01:03 See you. Bye.

Charity Cup Event

01:01:35

01:01:35 Okay, so jokes on us, but we're not done. We forgot to mention a thing. This weekend, there's also another thing happening besides the shenanigans in Amamake. Yes, the Charity Cup, it'll be the next installment of it is this weekend. You can catch it over on Twitch as well. You can watch all the cool explosions. They put so much effort into this event and it's like, it's a nice way to prepare for like the Alliance Tournament type of environment. It's a good way to train.

01:02:31 Yeah, absolutely. Thanks again. Okay, now we're actually done. Bye.
