The packed crowd at the Galen Center in L.A. saw a new Legend release, sold-out merch, content creators battling it out for the prestigious Solos title, and most importantly, a brand-new champion. Dark Zero gave us the most dominant group stage performance in history, smashing the previous Standing Points record.

The elimination bracket showed us why you can never count teams out, with C9, LG, Omit, Legends, and DSG all fighting their way through and making it to the top 10 in finals. Eight of those teams battled through the preseason qualifiers. And 22 earned it through established winning form.

Had an amazing LAN performance, of course, throughout the group stages. Did falter a little bit there when it came to the final day of play. But we know that when it comes to the regular season, Alliance will always show up. Nine Lies Esports is that new banner that our teams will be playing under. So excited to see what they bring to the table. ExoClan and DMS.
00:14:45 Formerly, of course, that Red Dragon Squad. I think amongst this, you have so many amazing IGLs. When it comes to the POI draft system, they're going to be tested. But for teams like Alliance and 07 with Nasky along with Hackus, they just bring so much experience that they'll be able to just roll with any blows that come their way. It's going to be interesting. We'll have a chance to talk with Nasky a little bit later today during our halftime. But 07 looking new as well, inviting Zayn back.
00:15:13 After maybe one of the biggest pop-off introductions at Alain that we had seen last year, he's back in the mix here for a split. So that'll be exciting to see what they can build together. And I think that starts to become the conversation. Do we have the pieces? And we've seen this across North America. I won't talk about that yet, but some big roster changes where people felt they didn't have the pieces. But it goes to all of Apex. Do we have the pieces in the team now?

So that's going to be exciting to see how that works out with Graceful and JMW. And then, of course, we have to talk about Apex Warlords. You guys may have known them as 40% worse. Well, they're back here as Apex Warlords, losing out on Mandy and bringing in Gen.G.

Sir Dell will be going ahead and leading that one. And honestly, Sir Dell, Max Trafey, Nasky, when you go back in Apex history, that trio has been fantastic. And whatever team they go to, they have been leading them extremely well. So I'm excited to see what this roster can pull for us today.

00:20:53 Prior to the Pro League regular season, each team receives a random assortment of draft picks for matchdays 1 through 9. The assortment is perfectly equal, meaning if a team receives the first draft pick, they'll also receive the 40th draft pick on that matchday. This draft style is called a snake draft, and the order of draft picks changes with each matchday, which means that teams may not always get their preferred POI.
00:21:20 On Draft Day, each team will make two draft picks, one Storm Point drop spot and one World's Edge drop spot. Strategizing is crucial, as drop spots on both maps are up for grabs at the same time. There will always be more drop spots than teams, which means that even if you're the last pick, you'll have multiple options to choose from.
00:21:41 Once a POI is chosen, it's off-limits to all other teams for that match series. On match day, each team is dropped from an individual dropship above their drop spot. It is a whole new ALGS.

And, you know, it's, I think, a great time for me to join back on because it's a new era. It's like a fresh start for a lot of teams. So I'm really excited about talking more about this POI draft system.
00:24:01 Yeah, it's going to be exciting, too. Obviously, our first three games we'll be seeing over by World's Edge before we make that transition into Storm Point. We'll get there, though, when we cross that bridge. But it's about talking about these POI drafts that have changed things up a lot. Digging deeper into that and what we could expect from some of the teams that may have had that seeing advantage to see where they wanted to land for their own POI, respectively.
00:24:24 Yeah, and it's great to see the snake system coming in. I was wondering how that was going to exactly work out when the snake system was initially announced to me. I was like, oh, are we starting off all on World's Edge? Are we starting off all on Storm Point? No, you can actually choose between either map depending on what your pick order is. So I love that kind of depth when it comes to the draft.
00:24:45 It's going to be crazy the amount of stats that are going to come out of this too for the teams that get to land in their chosen POIs versus the teams that may have gotten the shorter end of the sick and seen where these final circles may be pulling. Of course, as you saw there, the first three games will be on World Edge once again. The last three games will be on Storm Point as it usually is. And can we take a look at this real quick and take a moment to appreciate these nice graphics that our producer put together here for the ALGS? What that could mean if they want to play more so by the edge and what their loot pattern is going to look like too.

So that's going to be cool to see later on as we do gather more data. Like you said, we do have basically the teams that have been able to essentially gatekeep other squads from getting into the POIs that they've already claimed in the past. But now with things changing up and now different teams landing in different POIs, how is that going to affect the consistency of these top performing teams?
00:29:33 And another thing to note, there are so many things, right? It's not just about the players that have to kind of adjust to this new style. Now with the POI draft, we have to talk about the support staff that comes in, the coaches and the analysts. They have their work cut out for them for this split as well, because I know that they were all hard at work throughout the last, well, it was a couple of days or a couple of weeks for them after the POI draft was announced and we started getting into scrims. They need to start preparing loot pathings, rotation pathings, all these different maps for their place.
00:30:02 So, right now, I am really wanting to make sure that the coaches and the analysts, everyone gets the proper love here because the last two weeks has been absolute hell in terms of preparation for them.
00:30:15 Also, I feel like we're seeing, in my opinion, coaches are so important in any esports ecosystem, but specifically in Apex, seeing how they've been able to evolve. And now with these draft picks, it's going to be even more important to follow through, see where other teams would like to choose as a POI for their preference. And then I also think back on teams like Gaming Gladiators. They picked up the entire team of Omit, including their coach like you, the Italian coach himself, who has really been able to keep this team together.

Again, this was a pretty far rotate for them, coming from the stack side, going all the way over to the western side. But ultimately, they were able to slow play from that south side.

And well, the less teams that end up using the Legend, the stronger it becomes. So bringing out the Cossack here is so incredibly strong because you don't have maybe six, seven other Cossacks running.
