00:00:2500:00:25 We just gotta hold our left swing and we win. We cannot let the Hype team swing our left. We're fine here guys. We're fine here. Relax. Hype is gonna kill the middle. We just need to focus right team. Focus right team. Hype is gonna swing towards us probably. We need to show them that we're not gonna give up this pressure.
00:00:53 Yeah, I agree, left is the most optimal. Everyone's on the right is gonna fight. It's on the right. Everyone else has to funnel in the other way. The only way we die is if they flank our left. Don't take too much damage. Just play weird headies on them so they think they can push. Just play really hard headies so they don't think they can push. I dropped two, I dropped two. I dropped one. Someone's gonna be playing at the top of our rock soon, maybe. Yep, no, I'll scan, I'll scan. I want to swap to double close, but... You can't. Yeah, so good.
00:01:25 Warming Height. Warming Height. Warming Height
00:01:35 Ja, zwei Teams, zwei Teams. One might swing left.
00:01:58 We are so back here we are
00:02:29 Oh my god. Timmy's making pop videos. Holy shit. Timmy, good call on the triple watch and you decided to go back. That's really good. One stock in front of me. Okay. Classic's running back. The building's not in. They gotta swing out. They gotta swing out.
00:02:58 Ja, ja, ja, ja, ja, ja, ja, ja, ja, ja, ja, ja, ja, ja, ja, ja, ja, ja, ja, ja, ja, ja, ja, ja, ja, ja, ja, ja, ja, ja, ja, ja, ja, ja, ja, ja, ja, ja, ja, ja, ja, ja, ja, ja, ja, ja, ja, ja, ja, ja, ja, ja, ja, ja, ja, ja, ja, ja, ja, ja, ja, ja

00:05:06 Ja, ja, ja. Ja, ja, ja.
00:05:35 We need to go, I think soon
00:05:51 Let's go! That's the talking mean to do bro.
00:06:20 Was das ein simple Apex, boys? Was das? I trusted your spot, you trusted my call to ape the wall. What do you know, bro? You guys had a simple macro rotate off UIVs, you get the best spot in zone because we know we can take it. Everyone needs to talk. For us to win, we have to all talk. If one person's in charge, we're dumb as hell.
00:06:50 Ja, der Banger ist auf dem Roof!

00:07:36 We just focus this game. Yeah
00:08:04 Ja, ja, ja.
00:08:40 Yeah, Legacy ratted them in Zone apparently to make sure they won. Way to bring it back at the end. Way to bring it back at the end. What a meme of a game, last game. Yeah, actually its quality was terrible. Hey, boys. Listen, we went from game six full-time chokers to game six clutches for Sack. Clutch?
Start der Regional Finals und Überblick über die Qualifikationsrunde
00:09:3400:09:34 Welcome back to the Apex Legends Global Series, baby. You know what day it is. It's the Regional Finals. Means it all comes down to this. Everyone's been playing. Two and a half months to get here since the start of the year in 2024. You know, you write down your goals. You write down your list of things you want to achieve. You say your affirmations. Well, for some teams it hasn't really worked. But for a lot, for a lot, it has. 20, to be exact, have gotten here today. But the job is not done yet. It's not finished.
00:10:01 They've got to punch their ticket and be the first of 12 teams to qualify here in North America. We've already got two from APAC South who have transitioned here and claimed this region. Who else will join them today? We're about to find out and it's going to be a great one. Welcome back to our regional finals. My name is Rain Day and I am joined by the great cast of crew that we've got putting it on behind the scenes and in front. But let's start to introduce them.
00:10:54 A tale of two cities where really one side of things have gone very, very well for the top teams. Some teams who are usually at the top though, Dia, maybe TSM, have struggled in ways that we haven't seen before. But this is the beauty of a day like this. You get a chance to say it doesn't matter. We perform today and we're going and we're locked in. That's a special time, Dia. Very true.
00:11:17 North America, unlike Enya this morning, does have a lot more room for forgiveness. If you're not among the top five squads, you've still got time to qualify because it's going to be top 12 from the region and realistically top 10 because you've got two locked in, which is a lot more wiggle room than having to finish the top eight. Way more wiggle room. I'm telling you, I know a few teams like Lasik DeFrancen, E6, who would have been happy to have 12 teams qualifying, and I know for sure.
00:11:46 Whether we know that now or whether we have to crunch the numbers during the broadcast, we'll have a man ready to do it with us. Behind the scenes and on camera, it's Zephyr. Welcome, Ben. North America, the action starts now. I know you guys say there's a lot of wiggle room, but personally, when I hear that there's only those 10 slots remaining and it's as close as it's been on the overall, I don't think there's much of a chance. Remember, in EMEA, it was only three points that separated Omit from going to LAN and going home.
00:12:15 Great information on that. We would have had a three-way tie if Omit had just had one placement, gotten fourth instead of third, and that ultimately would have been a tie going the other way to another team. So just a huge shout-out to how close this can be when you really pay attention to it. But let's take a look at as it stands now, going into this tournament today.
00:12:38 Regional Finals have been so great across all of our regions and we've qualified nearly everyone except North America. APAC North and APAC South, they have got their teams locked in.
00:12:50 Very familiar, like Tom Young-Koom, who took that in APAC South. Reject Winity took a great series in APAC North with Fnatic, Griddle Order, Crazy Raccoon joining them, and North Eption, of course, teams we've seen before. Across North America, Dark Zero and Moist, they are already qualified, but we've still got the lion's share of teams to decide their fate today. And on the other side, we've got EMEA, who have just locked in their aid.
00:13:14 Aurora, Navi, Alliance, Made in Heaven, 07, Passion UA, Two Rats, One Controller, and Omit. Just by a few points will be joining us. Where? Also a big shout out to China and South America for their teams being qualified. We cannot wait to see them represented as well at a place that we've been talking about. Yeah, what is this for? We play our split one online. We play our regional finals online, but that always leads.
Ankündigung des LAN-Standorts und Team-News
00:13:4100:13:41 to something in person, a LAN. And I know you've been anxiously awaiting the news. For those who didn't catch it in EMEA, let's reveal our location for our first LAN of 2024. I just got word that LAN is in Los Angeles this year. Wait, we don't have to move the green screen this time? We don't have to move it at all. Let's go. Yeah, you can't hold me down. Yeah, you can't hold me down.
00:14:31 We'll be here in the building at the Galen Center and we hope that you join us, whether you're from the States or outside of it. The best talent in Apex will be gathering and tickets go on sale Friday.
00:14:55 on March 22nd at galencenter.org. That's right, Friday, March 22nd. You can get your tickets and book your spot at LAN. Remember though, if you need to use this QR code, that's just the link. It'll bookmark it on your browser wherever you're watching the stream right now so that you can join on Friday and grab those tickets. Be the first to say, hey, I am officially going. Vicky, Zef, D, I mean, you know, Vic, LAN is here and it's in LA. This is exciting.
00:15:20 This is where the stars are made. This is where we get to see these teams compete on a stage to make a name for themselves or are the ones that always happen to do it end up doing it again. This is again, this is going to be huge. I'm so happy we could finally reveal a location too so that we can see a lot of our teams look forward to something now knowing where they're going to be going.
00:15:39 Well, you know, there's been so many things to anticipate here heading into, obviously, LAN and all the regional finals. But let's go into the team news because as we've been looking ahead, there have also been things happening in front of us that have changed the scope of it. Every time there is a LAN, we see new orgs jump in and want to have a part of the legacy that will be built there. But sometimes we see an org that isn't so new. Cloud9 is back in Apex. Tell a friend, C9, join.
Great collaboration da von C9.
00:16:31 Let's look at NA. How does it really stand? Dia, I want to get into you for a team in a moment, but let's really just, before we go hyper-focused on that team that many of you probably know who I'm talking about, here's the big picture. 12 teams will qualify for LAN. Two already are there. Dark Zero and Moist Esports. I mentioned the APAC South takeover. That's because those are APAC South teams who are now in North America and leading the charge. But teams all the way down into 12 are currently safe. But everyone...
00:17:00 Untertitelung des ZDF für funk, 2017
00:17:18 Technically 90% chance of qualifying. Yes, we're talking about TSM. I want to take a look at them because while they started off to split pretty well with the typical, oh, are TSM struggling, are they not?
00:17:31 In the back half of the split, TSM have absolutely been struggling to maintain the level of excellence that people expect of them. This is still in line with what TSM normally give us, but it's been exacerbated by Season 20 and perhaps a roster that's feeling a little bit lost. I want to look at the...
00:17:50 Ways that Season 20's affected this team. In front of you now is one composition. One composition that a lot of teams are running. This was one comp that TSM ran this week. Let's go to another comp that TSM ran this week. Because, spoilers, there are a lot of compositions that TSM were running both in scrims and in Pro League to try and find a style that really fit them. A lot of times, interestingly, it's...
00:18:17 Hal on Bloodhound, Reps on Bangalore, and it's this rotating door of what does Verhulst do this split? When Verhulst was originally picked up by TSM, he was playing Valkyrie 99% of the time, back in that Gibraltar caustic meta. Now, however, Valk doesn't seem to fit the team, and he's even been trying things out like Rampart, like the Watson that we saw earlier.
00:19:21 Well, from Waltzy giving Reps advice to a hilarious meltdown playing the Ballistic for the last two games, that was...
00:19:39 Hal's only reason he would continue to play versus not continuing on in scrims. TSM has been through a lot. And you know what? They've kind of taken it on and said, this is where we're at. Let's just get through it. And I'm excited to see what they do today. Probably more to talk about that as we get into our cast and see the actual gameplay and how they perform. But Vicky, there's another battle. And it's not just with TSM and kind of the heroes of this so far North American land-winning record that they've got.
00:20:08 There are other T1 teams that are still in this place of will we even be at LAN and trying to carve out the right path to get there. It's the battle of their Tier 1 orgs if you're looking at that bubble. You know, I got to talk about my outlier picks for teams that are challenging for that spot and talking about their success rate so far, starting with Optic. The green wall has looked like it's starting to crumble little by little and I'm giving them a 45% because they're currently sitting in 15th overall.
00:20:36 I heard it from Skittle's comms, he mentions the vibes are just not high for the squad. And when there's make it or break it levels of pressure, you can see people's personality really coming out. And Optic must get 7th or above to have that green wall attend land. Next, I do want to highlight Sentinels, talking about vibes for the team. So far, this team, I'm giving them a 30% when it comes to that win rate bar, because they are currently sitting at 17th. This is another team that their confidence is just not high right now.
00:21:06 Kind of flounder back and forth, but they may have to rely on bubble teams to completely crumble if they want their chance at LAN. Following through right after that, and the team that ends up always showing up, no matter what, it's got to be Xset. I'm giving them a 70% because they are currently in 13th place overall, but they always make it some way, somehow. In combination with Hotsick, this team just takes time to figure things out, and the Season 20 changes just really became the learning curve that...
00:22:12 Well, it's a great showcase there of these teams. And, you know, when we talk about T1 Orgs, Apex, blessed to have plenty of them. And a lot of stories and narratives behind each one, the things that work for them and the things that don't. But speaking of T1 Orgs, there's teams out here too. And we see it in EMEA and Made in Heaven. And we see it in North America in Legacies, F, who aren't represented, at least as far as we know yet. Seems like they might have solved that problem by a T1 Org.
00:22:41 absolutely at the end of the day tier one doesn't mean anything when you come back and settle on performance alone legacy easily taking the cake as the most talented roster when we talk about free agents on the board at least as far as we know currently for legacy they have dominated this split and especially with this most recent match day have shown how good of a roster they truly are in representation for the north american region as a whole between yanya jaguarez
00:23:11 And of course, Nasal here, it has been an absurd pressure. They are the third highest team for kills, only beaten by the likes of Dark Zero and Moist, who are currently, of course, on a completely different platform right now. On top of that, they bring forth the fourth highest damage. And when we talk about the individuals themselves, Yanya, an absolute beast to behold. Only one player stands above him, that being Dark Zero Zero. But at the end of the day,
00:23:40 Second for most kills, an absurd KDA power line that goes to show how incredible Legacy have been. It has been a tough path, but especially with the changes alongside Season 20, Legacy are finally coming into their heyday just at the right time. I highly doubt this is a roster we will not see in LA. That last day, Matchday 9, 48...
00:24:07 What's going on here? This is so insane. This team is beyond good at fighting. They're the cutting edge of fighting teams, I guess, both literally and metaphorically here, of how well they know how to take players down. So we'll continue to watch them. I know they're excited. They haven't announced the org for what we know, but I'm sure it's something special. Guys, it's time to get going.
00:24:4400:24:44 Thank you so much, Rain Day. It's just been a fantastic time so far, Dia, to not only go through Emilia, but now we get to go through the Regional Final in North America. It's so important to highlight. We keep talking about Regional Final, and for our newer viewers tuning in right now, I have to remind you guys what Match Point means, what this has as a stake for a lot of the teams that want to not only get to Match Point, but what they have to do afterwards. Now they have to get to 50 points in one game, and in this separate game after hitting Match Point,
00:25:42 And Vicky, we saw this during the morning games, but teams do tend to play, at least typically, a little more conservatively when we start on World's Edge, because the map is newer, but also because it's before match point really kicks it up a notch, outside of some early contests that we may see.
00:26:03 This should be a game where teams that get to play a little more calculated do succeed. And actually speaking of contests, I want to take a moment to talk about the drop spots for our original final on World's Edge, because what was a Native Gaming vs. Ape Gang contest has actually recently been announced, and by recently I mean mere minutes ago, to now be an Xset vs. Ape Gang contest at Monument, which is a lot scarier in my opinion, Vicky, because Xset have...
00:26:31 Seemingly so much more to lose
00:26:57 This is the time, Regional Finals for North America, where we get to see those last 12 remaining slots for our LAN Lobby be completed.
00:27:51 100%. We're actually already seeing the chaos of this early 50-50 Nocturnal. Having to navigate away as they're already getting shot at by Ape Gang. Let's also not forget who lands over by Frag East, right? Optic Gaming, knowing that this change just came out, are probably going to show their presence very soon with a quick rotate. But specifically want to highlight what this does in a KOI like this. They are going to be denied a lot of loot. I'm not just talking about Exit. I'm talking about Ape Gang here too. But Fawn already taking some shots with the Flatline.
00:28:20 Such an amazing weapon, especially within this season. It's always stayed consistent, but I also want to highlight what the weapon changes, that it's even stronger now. And while they do take some of these shots, keeping themselves noted that they could be a third party in the distance, they want to quickly try to rotate out of here.
00:28:36 Das ist...
00:28:53 ... ... ... ... ...
00:29:10 I'd say that Disguise are probably going to stick around straight in the center of Thermal Station and harass the squads that come in over the next couple of minutes. That has to be the play. They even have an Evil Harvester there, it looked like. And also nice to note that it's early Christmas opportunities for Optic, considering the fact that being a team that also needs to secure as much points as they possibly can to even qualify for LAN, this could be some easy picks for them for these third parties that persist on World's Edge. So Exet recognizing
Spielverlauf und Team-Positionierungen in World's Edge
00:30:0100:30:01 The way that Xset are playing right now does bring a lot of focus on getting to zone pretty darn quickly as they don't really have a choice through the center of the map, but hopefully it'll allow them to at least get another Evo Harvester or two lest they be relegated to blues. Optic have already lost one, however. It looks like Sentinels are here with a vengeance, picking up the first kill of the game on Dropped.
00:30:35 Got to get onto the higher ground if they can. There is no support legend on this team. So even if they get to a replicator, it's not like they can replicate that banner. And they were unable to grab it in the first place. So seeing now what they could do while getting scanned by another team from what looked like to be Eppy. That's going to be Space Station getting information on how many members are also present for OpTic. Well, even more teams have already made their way over to the north side of Thermal. Talking about Oxygen that have already found these two buildings.
00:31:01 Hier in Thermal. But as we all know, this zone can
00:31:30 Seriously constrict and punish those that have misread where the ring will ultimately end.
00:31:38 Which has happened so many times in the last two weeks, especially as Legacy. Hot Topic! Hagwadis going down and Niesel falling incredibly low, but finding themselves in the safety of this building for right now. Furia are on the other side of them, who are not leaving from their own building. And we who called it Dia, we knew this was going to happen, but TSC were able to already claim that high ground, the Sniper Tower that's smacked in the middle of their POI being Thermal Station.
00:32:05 I'm going to take a look at some of the more powerful positions that can be played during the course of this zone. We've already illustrated that the disguise sit right in the center here in Thermal, giving them a lot of flexibility towards the later portions of this game. Oxygen, predict a zone ending on the high ground should work out really well for them. Furia and Legacy, unlikely to actually have a strong position, barring a pull that would go all the way down here. Meanwhile, TSM.
00:32:32 Set up for one of the possible endings here. And Native opt into the Made in Heaven tactic, seeing if they can use a late rotate out of staging to make their way into a zone. As unlikely as it is to go staging, it should be a pretty furry rotate through the sky.
00:33:17 Ape Gang, one of the only squads to still be running Conduit in Season 20, have continually hounded Exet. These two squads mirroring each other on the rotate, and Ape Gang, certainly with an advantage given that they have Conduit and can make use of the lower econ and quick resets, Conduit just allows you to play Messier, and that's something that Ape Gang are certainly embracing right now.
00:34:03 Thinking about C9 by the tunnel right there to the right. We know the complexity is playing by the choke that leads out of tree when you lead from the survey beacon into that south side of thermal station. And we get the next circle immediately afterwards. And Legacy had called this out from the very beginning inside of those buildings. Still...
00:34:21 Looking good for teams like Oxygen and Disguised. Disguised probably having the most flexibility, but you're right, Vicky. This is aging really well for teams that made their way deep into Thermal early. A squad that will be approaching from the north will have to deal with so much pressure through choke points that lead into Thermal. So EEC and Optic, who will be rotating right next to each other for now, will all ultimately come through very similar places and have to fight.
00:34:51 This is Northern Choke. Looks like EEC have gotten whiff of the duo that has been Optic Gaming. Remember, they couldn't get the banner from what we had seen prior, and there's no Support Legend on that team, so cannot get the Crafter going to work out for them. Moist Esports, one of our teams that have been dominating this split within North America right now, looking to get involved in that late fight that we saw between Ape Gang and Xset.
00:35:14 Nobody else left from Tree, but this is normal here when you'll have the Survey Beacon and the Ring Console both present in Tree. Even the Replicator here if you need some last minute bats. But you can see some shots being taken with the Hemi. Getting even more information while Complexity holds on to the height. Not trying to allow any other teams to try to rotate from this back end. It's a good angle by Lou and with...
00:35:34 ... ... ... ...
Entscheidende Momente und Team-Entscheidungen im späteren Spielverlauf
00:35:5500:35:55 Jump Tower, Valko, something to actually get into a good spot for later in the game. It does make you smile, though. To see Monsoon rocking the Sentinel again has made highlight reel after highlight reel these past weeks. Name a better combo. He could literally have his own video just based off of all the crazy shots that he's gotten with that Sentinel. He called himself the Sentinel King for a reason. Bagel called in here, too, while Space Station...
00:36:20 Let's take a look at how Moist dissect this third party.
00:36:50 Take his face. Yeah, right on the fence, right on the fence, yo. I ulti behind that blue crates. I'm dead. I died with armor sauce.
00:37:14 I think I'm dead here. Yeah, I'm dead here. Wow. That game was... That game was... It's a little too eager. EEC swoop in at just the right time and Sentinels are left watching in the distance going, well, I'm glad we didn't commit onto that. It looks real messy up by the blue fences. A place that ultimately, with EEC being the last to arrive, should give them not just a lot of flexibility, but a lot of loot to go with it.
00:37:40 Such a great call, the timing from Sentinel's part two, but that was after they lost out on one. Now only playing this out as a duo, EEC try to close in the gap. They hear a team flying in from the distance, and look who is up ahead. It is Optic, still not only as a duo, but split up at that. That was the player that we heard flying in. Sentinels now see the opportunity for this 2v2 potentially here while in the distance. More of these teams have made their way from the north side of Thermo, so they're playing by the train tracks that we saw native in originally by staging.
00:38:10 EEC get to lay down a good bit of damage. In fact, I do find a knock with the help of E8 from a distance, but it's a little too early to commit into a situation like this. Much better for EEC to play through the south end of zone, try and wrap around on somebody like Cloud9x that complexity, while E8 are the ones to clean up Sentinels.
00:38:34 Send those out in 18 for game number one in this lobby. E8 now looking to see the other teams that are coming in from the north side. Dark Zero actually have the high ground here as Zach Mazur gets peppered. He lets the rest of his team know they back away in time. This bangle actually helping them get the space that they need before they try to rotate. Because there's another team in the distance. But their door is being blocked by the Cossack trap.
00:38:57 Really nice presence of mind by Dark Zero. Break down the door, take down the barrel immediately, but then use someone else's barrel to make sure that you're...
00:39:15 Aggressive angle is blocked off. It does let E8 rotate ahead of them. And E8, with height, do have a pretty palpable advantage. But the ring won't let either team exist in this space. Everybody is going to have to move towards the choke that Native currently have control of. And Dark Zero are not waiting for the ring to make the decision for them.
00:39:58 How do you fight DC? How do you fight a team like this that from low ground, when you control everything, when the ring is at their back, still dominate the fight? I guess we'll find out as there will be another team that gets a shot at it. Native Gaming right ahead of Dark Zero.
00:40:15 They get taken out here too. Dart Zero vs Native after coming out from that fight that they took over E8 here. Quick to try to replenish themselves. Gen though gets beams, leaving him one. They don't get the full knock just yet. He's trying to get the reset on the bats. Zero's presence though on this high ground is providing so much cover for the rest of his team to try to reset. They do lose out on Sykes originally, but they are pressured out the team into the line of sight of TSM to help them on the other side of the choke. Let's jump into a listen in with TSM as they try to clean up the
00:40:44 Wir haben 40 Sekunden! Wir haben 40 Sekunden! Wir haben 40 Sekunden!
00:41:08 The comms are flowing, and we know TSM shows up when they are needed the most here. They came in, they third party, they take care of Dark Zero, and even more important to note, this entire north side of this next circle is free for them. The only teams now fighting to get closer into the middle part of Thermal would be LG, Oxygen, and Furia, who are all fighting their own battles, leaving TSM a nice wide rotate.
00:41:34 Furia managed to make it in, but losing Kion. Their Valkyrie on the way and getting naded into Oblivion. I don't see them getting out of this one. Madness burns down to the Thermite. And without even being touched by a bullet, Furia go down. LG, not in a much better scenario, have just Funk left standing. And the rotating to Thermal is punishing. I'll tell you who's benefiting from all this, Vicky. It's DSG on the high ground. You are watching all this go down.
Look at das!
00:42:2900:42:29 Real tough spot to play for everyone except Disguised. They have mastered the art of Thermal Station Zones, and so often this leads to them having to climb up to a high ground to adapt. This time, everyone needs to play Disguised's game. There is no wiggle room here to disrespect the kings of the high ground, especially because with Wraith...
00:42:54 Disguised aren't one of the only teams to run that legend, they've actually got a lot of flexibility for when they come down, engage you, clean up a fight, and then pop right back up into safety. I would not want to be messing with Disguised. I know, and it looks like we got Skittle Cakes cosplaying as Batman up on the high ground here. He is just looking at all the chaos without involving himself. Still can't believe Optic's alive in this final game after the start.
00:43:38 How devastating is that? Just in trying to push Disguise, not even take a fight against them, just grab a spot underneath them. TSM lose one, because Designful can literally be in two places at once. Complexity, hold out Legacy for the moment, arguably the biggest threat to Complexity. Let's see what this Amp Sentinel can do.
00:44:04 We're hitting those shots for right now. Still with the double blue. Calling in the Bangalore ult for you.
Timmy hat das Knock-Up to Huatis wieder.
00:44:47 For Disguised to own the height in Thermal, this next ring surely is what brings them off it, and it becomes a Clash of the Titans. Disguised have been up here all game, but Complexity have been approaching from the south slowly and inevitably throughout the past ten minutes. Can Disguised actually challenge Complexity, since Complexity have to share space with no one, and Disguised, unfortunately, still have two members of TSM right underneath them.
00:45:13 And they're going to be forced to drop unless maybe there's another portal ready. We know that Wraith, especially with her perks, could get that portal online so quick. Also nice to note with four spots left in the lobby for this final game, that Optic is still alive. There was nobody to contest that one member being Skittles from rotating all the way around Thermal Station from the outskirts. Now TSM.
00:45:35 Looking to see if they could find their own angle. Because if they start rotating from the front end, not only is it gonna be easy pickings from Disguise being on the high ground, but also for complexity that's gonna have TSM in their line of sight. Big no for TSM is to see that there's a solo. Especially when you've only got two people, your likelihood of winning the game is very low. An extra placement point can go a long way. That, with a kill, even better.
00:46:03 Look at Skittles doing his best. Exterminator has not been called in yet, but Complexity do know he is there. You can see the Milsi Storm coming out. Skittles taking his time before he tries to slide away, but who's going to claim that KP? They look like Hungry Bulgers. Look at the skies posted up on top before Monsoon with the Sentinel finally gets Skittles in the middle of him trying to find some cover. Up to get eliminated, we have our final three squads left in the lobby between the skies, TSM, and Complexity.
00:46:31 All you gotta do is, Complexity, is wait for Disguised and TSM to fight. It is inevitable. Disguised have very few options when it comes to how to engage. A portal is just too telegraphed, but a knock onto one member of Complexity does change this up. The forced exit from Scaffolding lets DSG stay in power for so much longer. What do TSM do? This is a three-team game. All of them have to be involved in how this endgame plays out.
00:47:48 It was inevitable, because we know that once they were forced to drop, even with a portal, where is that portal going to go? I mean, Complexity were holding that other end of that final circle. You try to grieve Complexity and go right behind them, you're still going to get shot out in the open. Everybody else that takes that portal, you're funneled into one spot that everyone needs to look at while TSM just walk in. So regardless, that was great for Complexity, not only to put in that pressure, but really nowhere for Disguise to go at the very end.
00:48:13 For all three of our teams that made the endgame, it was a very well played one and disguised certainly the benefactors as we did talk about repeatedly their incredible position that they get as a result of this being their POI. For other teams, however, like Complexity that have to play a little bit more of an adaptive game in TSM, this is going to be feeling a lot better because they ended up placing top three when it wasn't necessarily guaranteed and very much, especially in TSM's case, needed and...
00:48:41 Not just for the points, but for the mental game that they now get a little bit more confidence in moving into their final day of the regular season. Or I guess regional finals. Regional play is a better way to put it.
00:48:54 Momentum always starts great on a match point day like today, too. Wanted to see how everything has shaped out, considering the fact that there was a lot of fighting in the early game, specifically going from Ring 2 to Ring 3. We saw a lot of third-party opportunities here, but we're going to have to see, as we calculate the results, how that first game went down, guys. Don't go anywhere, because on the other side of this break, we'll have the results, and we'll have game number two for you coming soon.
00:51:11 Welcome back, everyone, to the North American Regional Finals. I hope you've enjoyed your trivia, because we are about to jump into Game 2. It's time to stop guessing, stop dwelling on the past. Right now is the present Zephyr. Let's take a look at what Match 1 brought us and how it sets us up for the continuation of the Regional Finals.
Analyse von Spiel 1 und Ausblick auf Spiel 2
00:51:2900:51:29 Now, ultimately, we walk away with a Complexity win, but the kills, they even up the score quite a bit here. Disguised, from their high ground above, picks up the necessary three points that keep them equivalent here on our standings.
00:51:44 Really impressive play, and we did say multiple times, Disguised in a Thermal Zone should do well. This is expected of them. Let's take a look, however, at those teams that did fall a little bit short. Teams like E8 standing out, Exet with a zero-point game, Sentinels picking up three kills, but still not getting to place too high. Of our top three teams, however, we did have a pretty huge disparity in terms of how...
00:52:39 Now, as of this first game, there's still a lot that goes up in the air. Notably in EMEA, we had teams that were not expected, that were not dominant during the regular season, picking up wins during our first two games. The fact that in North America, that's already changed to the complexity, who have been a team to watch for a long time pick up the game one win, it doesn't bode too well for those that need the wins, need the points towards the bottom of the leaderboards, because our top teams look really dialed in, Zephyr.
00:53:08 Absolutely, and this is something that we know for a fact already from their early split performance. Most of these teams, if they just kind of maintain this exact pacing, will happily work their way over to LAN. Teams like Optic, Exit, Drop-In Gaming need to keep pedal to the metal here if they want to even have a crying chance at achieving that. Optic, of course, a huge shout-out. It's time to start match to our second on World's Edge.
00:53:37 The first set, at least the final, before I move on over to Stormpoint for those teams that perhaps feel a little bit more confident on this map. There's plenty of opportunity to pick up kills, pick up points, and I cannot help but wonder, Zephyr, as we return once again, what is happening in Monument? Neither 8th Gang nor Xset is benefiting. What is the point?
00:54:02 I'd love to dig through the head of Ape Gang here and figure out exactly why this change came through this late, especially if it doesn't come with any kind of additional KP or starting damage here. But granted, last game we did see them absolutely barrel down the rotation, chasing Xset all the way to tree.
00:54:23 One of the difficult parts of this is that this isn't like when you land Climatizer and can go in different directions to hit the zone. A lot of times with Monument, with Fragment, with Landslide, all these central POIs, there's one good way.
00:54:37 ...to rotate into the ring. And if that's not what you're doing, or if you are joined, unfortunately, by some other squads, it's tough luck. Taking a look at this next zone, though, looks like we've got a pretty heavy split between teams that can play through the countdown side and what is ultimately likely to be a Skyhook zone.
00:54:57 And of course, with those Skyhook Zones, we get the survivability of so many of our rosters upward into that Zone 4 here. So for even those who might be on later or more extended rotations, oh, well, looks like they'll have to find out next time. It certainly does. Through a few of our players likely suffering from some technical issues, we are going to make sure that they are all connected and readied up because...
00:55:49 Thankfully, coming out of that game, nothing really happens. Ultimately, at the end of the day, no one goes down there, no kills are picked up, and no rotations even take place here. So we draw this one right on back to the board and completely start anew for our second game. Best time to have it happen. And given that we get to take a breather, I want to talk a little bit about compositions, especially on World's Edge and the difference between that and Stormpoint. Because Zephyr...
00:56:18 Well, you've talked about it and I've talked about it on separate occasions. I want to hear your take on the Wraith from DSG. It's not a popular pick. What do you make of it? So I love the way that this allows DSG to have an extension.
00:56:34 To how they get aggressive in a completely different way than any other team. I've made mention of this back during Day 9 when I got to take a look at it more directly on the cast. DSG is the only team that gets to have that absurd or that aggressive of an off angle going into some of these final fights. In that last game, we talk about the stack. DSG right above TSM, a struggle that was imminent. The fact that we see the extra rotation there from Designful gets download, tries.
00:57:04 to make some kind of additional damage or knock happen is a perfect choice there. Now, granted, it doesn't work out in the end, but it is just one good take regarding how it can typically work in an aggro sense rather than just the stereotypical, let's use Portal, get into a better place and zone and play from there.
00:57:23 I've certainly been enjoying it, and I want to bring in somebody who I know loves meta mixups, Rain Day. Please join us, because we've been talking about the Wraith. I've also noticed that Valkyrie, with the emergence of Season 20, has definitely started cropping up a lot more and giving teams more rotational options. Yeah, and I think it's interesting, because the Evac Tower, originally, when she was so meta, the Evac Tower came in as a solution for people who don't want to maybe...
00:57:47 ... ... ... ...
00:58:13 A strategical role versus a necessity, Valkyrie is in the same way. She serves a strategical role and is not a necessity, but you can still have yourself put in a position to where Valkyrie, like we're seeing, is a comfort pick.
00:58:52 No other Legends in the meta right now that can do that as easily. And Dia, that's kind of where Horizon has almost allowed Valkyrie to come back in and say, okay, well, if I need to hide, if I need to escape, if I need to challenge up on top, with my Bloodhound Caustic Bangalore meta, I can't challenge that team on top. But with a Valk, I might be able to get up, poke, come back down, and do my thing. So I think that's, I've loved seeing her in, and I've also loved it fit for a team that, maybe even like TSM,
00:59:21 Could get somebody feeling confident again on a familiar character.
00:59:26 I've really liked the mix-up. I think one thing I'm surprised by is perhaps the lack of Horizon, because you mentioned Verticality, and Horizon was all the rage before we got into Season 20. But Zephyr, Horizon has basically disappeared in Season 20 outside of maybe one or two teams. Ultimately, if you want a great example, we got to see Element 6 today, this morning. They're one of those big Horizon lovers, and you get to see how...
00:59:53 So, while still...
01:00:20 Good in many, many ways. There's just better. Well, you know, it's interesting to talk about the fixes that have happened for certain legends and seeing how perks have maybe added certain legends back into the meta that haven't been there for a while. Wraith particularly is one of them that we've seen options for. And whether you're taking your portal and getting the increased reduction in cooldown on that.
01:00:46 Or you're going and getting a safer into the void. We've seen certain players kind of jump into that more and more. And Disguise has been one of them. We've seen it's Timmy playing more of the Wraith. And Disguise as a team in general have been interesting as a story point here. Not just with the changes.
01:02:08 Harp on a point that you brought up, though, that they've gone through a lot of, say, interpersonal conflict throughout this season, picking up and adjusting the way that they talk to each other. And it's something that I think is a big edge for Disguised, because unlike a lot of teams that...
01:02:25 Zephyr, in your eyes, the story of Design lean towards their interpersonal?
01:02:48 Or does it lead towards their play? Obviously, we highlight the play, but it's hard to not account for the fact that they are a team that has taken a lot of headlines sometimes for not their play and their communication to each other.
01:03:01 I really like how Dia brings it up there, especially between the emotional remedies that we're kind of seeing from that roster. But ultimately, at the end of the day, it's talent. Talent that comes through and shines between the three of these players that in their previous iterations, whether it's, of course, it's Timmy, the menace himself, or even what was previously designed on his rosters. And of course, Enemy making his major debuts against teams like HEC and further. Each of these three have had their star shining moments that now in a combined force have definitely given.
01:03:30 The headway to why designed as good as they are has continued to rear their head. Not quite ugly this time, though. No, absolutely not. Hey, passion. That's all it is. Passion. That's all I want to hear from them. And they'll continue to be enjoying the results that they've got there. Can they keep it up? Well, certainly we know complexity can. Dia, Zef, I heard the lobby's ready to go. Let's get back into it. Hopefully get this game started.
01:03:53 All I have to say is that I hope Exet and Apegang are comfortable being uncomfortable because we're about to get right back into that exact same scenario, Zephyr. Yeah, well, to be honest, I feel like both of them are...
01:04:08 Fairly comfortable. They're just losing out on loot at this point. In the minor moment that we got to check out that game, nothing had even really happened at Monument. Not even a hair's breadth of action was exchanged between the two of these rosters before we even got the chance to see those rotations come through. So ultimately, it's just...
01:04:28 Neither of them get to walk away from Monument with full loot and both have to be more heavily aware of their rotations alongside each other, which is inherently a delay that they'll have to deal with at least every two or so games. And this is more punishing to Exet than it is to Apegang. Not just in the overall leaderboards, where Exet do have substantially more to lose. They're very playoffs.
01:04:54 Appearance is on the line with how many points they're able to put up today, but compositionally as well. So you're losing in the leaderboards because you're not able to pick up as much loot, and you're not able to have as much impact on the game, and you're not able to pick up points, but especially compared to Ape Gang, who are running things like Conduit, you also have less econ the later you get into the round than your counterparts who are rotating from the same place.
01:05:21 Now to remind folks at home here, Apegang has to win today. There is no if, and, or but, or second place finish that will get them to land. The only way they're going to be influencing the potential, well, happiness that is Los Angeles, is if they come out on top, which makes this entire scenario all the more interesting. The Evo Harvesters have just come up, Xset.
01:05:44 Get the benefit of planning their rotation with the foreknowledge of how they'll grab more Evo and hopefully move themselves up to blue.
01:06:20 Still a bit of separation there, just barely. Dropped on the edge of that smoke, finally lays that one down to give the full clearance here for Optic Gaming to make their recovery. Last time around though, we were sitting on just solos in the presence of Optic finally achieving what was endgame potential here. Thankfully, with the heavy rotates more important here, XF have made their way out and Optic hit blue.
Looking at diese Endzone, however, Sie würden wirklich gerne sein in...
01:06:59 Lava Siphon, be it in one of these buildings, this is a really nice potential endzone, Complexity have a great spot in the center, and teams like Disguised should be looking to loop all the way through the south and place Slowside into TSM.
01:07:15 This is really tough here because optimally when we talk about the most common zone that has shown up here for North America and EMEA, especially in this kind of finish, it usually tends to end just outside of the height besides complexity or slightly further north where we get into that bridge there. So personally, if it comes down to the opinion of Zephyr, I love the way how teams play from Siphon in these situations and utilize that extra height to their advantage before, of course, transitioning to whether it be the
01:08:1801:08:18 World's Edge, Axset, and Apegang have to be following each other.
01:08:24 It's something you would hope could be remedied just by the difference in terms of speed here between these two, but optimally taking advantage of even say things like that replicator forces the issue or habit at hand. For Sentinels, this is a wide swinging rotation that could lead to personal success if they can take advantage of that opposing height to play from on the other side of bridge. It's not the easiest, it doesn't come with a ton of cover, but...
01:08:59 With both a Ring Console and a Survey Beacon here, I'd really like to see Sentinels hit the Survey and the Ring Console in about a minute and 30, once the Ring closes, and play for a Godspot later on. This is something that Sentinels have always been really good at, is prioritizing late-game positions. It's Arcane's Calling Card as an IGL. See whether they're able to do it as Disguised, make use of their own Calling Card, the willingness to take a fight. It never seems to stop with this roster.
01:09:27 Finding this kind of aggression is something that we have seen put disguised above the rest of these teams here. And ultimately, while we are going to see Luminosity get away, it just goes to show the pacing that sets this roster above the rest at times here. Still, they've got quite a distance to make that rotation. And as you said, Dio, whether it be through the south side of Siphon Direct or all the way around here, the challenges that await them, especially on edge, is where we're going to need to see that aggro potential come alive.
01:09:57 The continued pull into Siphon will force Nine Lies a little bit closer to challenging for the high ground. It's likely that we see Nine Lies play for control of the center building and they seem to have a really clear rotate into it no matter what path they choose to take. Going to go for the one that's a little more at risk but should provide them a few more options.
01:10:21 Chuu adapt with. Furia have lost out on Chuu, however, putting them in a much worse position comparatively. And on the opposite side of the zone, it's going to be just up to Keon to survive for as long as possible.
01:10:33 Well, with damage down there and what you can see is a blip disappearing on the map. Legacy, take advantage of that rotation and find the Fury eliminated early on here. Now, granted, it was a good position. I told you earlier about how I like the height to work with, but optimally, it's just a bit too early. Something to note, though, is that our zone, it bounces back. It makes its way up towards that northern side of Grandma's where no one has set themselves up. No one has the current best position.
01:11:02 I'd be more curious to know who actually understands that this change has occurred.
01:11:07 I hope it's Sentinels, because Sentinels are sitting on a ring console. I believe they've just scanned it, but the rotation into Elevate may take out one or both squads. We'll keep our eyes on the killfeed for how this fight evolves, as plenty of teams will be slow in adapting. RKN already low, E8 going on the aggressive, knowing there's a solo here. They're pushing Acoustic, but it's working for them as RKN falls.
01:11:33 Paying good respect to the hype behind them. Zapf doesn't have to do much with a wingman in his hands there. A few ordinances will find major cracks back, but Shubi, the only one to fare the difficulty of the cracks at hand here. Elevate immediately on a turn again with that scan. We'll at least acknowledge the fact that Sentinels have rotated on here, but it is a huge setup, especially for their potential play into the eastern side of the zone.
Shubi zooms auf For...
01:12:26 mit der Havok, und dann, als wir sagen es, Cloud9-Mell-Like-Butter in front of E8.
01:12:55 But they're far late to the party. My first thought when I saw them land behind the supply bins was, wow, that is a terrible spot. And terrible it was. Unfortunate for Verholtz, who's unable to stay alive on the caustic through no fault of his own, leaving everything in the hopefully capable hands of Reps. While Reps has done incredible things before, I'd be very surprised to see TSM get out of this alive.
01:13:20 It's a good setup and the timing regarding the revives does allow HAL the presence to get back into things here. And the fact that you do get that Bangalore as that option for recovery is at least the exact thing you want to see. The problem though is the fact that SSG with their full recovery still applies just as much pressure. And at the end of the day, even if it isn't the end of TSM now, any kind of rotation, any kind of movement, it will be immediately smelled out, not just by SSG, by any one of these teams across or above.
01:13:49 And taking a look at the zone raid that TSM have in the upper left hand corner, we know that teams like Legacy will be forced to rotate through TSM and SSG, the duo.
01:14:03 Likely not the one that's gonna come out of that alive, if anything. Plenty of chaos in the future towards the south end of the map, but everything else likely being determined as we speak, Zephyr. This open circle that had a lot of teams for, a lot of room for other teams to rotate in, is likely already being filled by the likes of Eternals, Sentinels, at the very northern end in OpTic.
01:14:28 Dark Zero in their own rotation searching for the answers that be here for Elevate. They had not made yet rotation and instead are on the potential cover of what might be this next move. Let's take a look in the intermachinations of the mind of the leaders of North America.
01:14:47 Ich habe T20. Ich denke, wir spielen die Bildung. Die Bildung ist so bad. Wir haben zu spielen für das. Kann ich die Traps hier, Genozole? Okay, das ist ja, es ist ja, es ist ja, es ist ja, es ist ja, es ist ja, es ist ja, es ist ja, es ist ja, es ist ja.
01:15:12 Ich habe 7, ich weiß. Ich habe 7 jetzt.
01:15:36 Elevate still have to find their own way out of big mod, and some of the best ways to do that may just unfortunately take them right into Dark Zero. Now, they do have the pressure of Moist behind them as a potential difficulty to deal with here, but at least on the other side of things, Exet has provided some of that initial damage. Looks like Waltzy looking for an access point just as similarly, but that kind of back...
01:16:27 Few meds, we'll keep them alive for now. I don't know. Woltzy's gonna go on a heroic banner recovery journey while Xset rotate away ahead of them, being taken down out of the sky. That is honestly just really rough. None of that went well for anyone. Xset aren't having a good time. Moist aren't having a good time. Nobody is getting the better end of this ring three close.
01:16:52 Barely we'll see Guild make the escape there. Notably, no banners to be recovered. Set upon, well, this area is just a solo member. The Geysers gotta provide some kind of cover, some safety, but the tick is far too much. Sends the Death Box into the heart of Legacy's action.
01:17:12 I'm sure they'll be looking at that going, what on earth happened there? But Legacy, I've got bigger problems. It's former Luminosity fighting current Luminosity. And I tell you, Sweet being down is not doing LG a whole lot of hope. Could you take down one member of Legacy on the other side? Slayer slides in, doing so much damage, but unable to clutch it up. Funk gets a bat off and...
01:17:35 Just as everyone slides past, takes out Nehzul as well. One last scan will do it, as Funk has to rocket away on the low ground, despite no longer accessible, while oxygen came in to clean up.
01:17:49 The Skies try to make their way in, but from behind, Nine Lies are there to take advantage of that external rotation. We talk about the aggression of the Pearl, but that's the issue that can come alongside it. If you don't clear out your backside just as quickly as you leave your spot, someone is there to take it away. Nine Lies, as a result, put the damage down, find them at their weakest point, and when they make their return, are just alongside them to pick up the successful White here. Now for Oxygen.
01:18:17 They've got complete control. SSG, they try to make moves forward, but instead are letting perfectly in their sight lines. Oxygen are letting the zone run them out a bit, though. Playing through the south side, yes, they're clearing their backs, but they're giving up a chance to scout out ahead of them. Reeds almost goes down. Thankfully, SSG do fall before putting one last bullet in Reeds, sure to have been a full knock there.
01:18:43 Instead, it'll be E8, the Gatekeep, the remainder of Oxygen's rotation towards the northern side of the ring. Notably, we talk about early rotations for Xset, something that found them far out towards that southeastern section is Apegang, deep in the midst of this valley, a position that can sometimes last longer than one would expect, but still, the defensive nature of having to just survive this isn't part of their game plan.
01:19:1001:19:10 Nothing left to do, as there are just too many angles on Apegang. It will be the last member of Sentinels that survives, with Luda on the low ground, eking out placement and kill points for the team, even from the disadvantage that he...
01:19:26 ...Walked into this mid-game with. Native, one of our only teams to run Loba, should be plenty looted up so far. Drop-in Gaming are setting up for one heck of a defense on high ground. Hurling out a Causticult ahead of them. Drop-in! Are certainly doing just that. Taking control of these doors and keeping Native hemmed inside.
01:19:48 Now remember, there is another team just to the south side of this building here. If Drop-In even successfully make the exchange, the potential for a third party is just as likely. Even with all that gas expended and now the Noxcrafts no longer available, Drop-In have lost a good chunk of their utility and instead might hear that blood.
01:20:07 We're just taking all these swings to take out barrels, but Bangult is going to be something different. Jay swings in front of the door, taking an off angle, but it just lets Native swing on out. That is a destruction of drop-in gaming, unlike what we've seen before. And OpTic come in to try the third party and suffer losses themselves. Drop is down. Skittle, the last one now left alive. Rambo and Clayton are out. It's just Luxford left to defend Native. Skittle has to choose between Luxford and the Gats.
01:20:37 Skittle chooses Luxford and takes the win. What a clutch on the south side of Zone. I'd say I'm surprised, but I've seen it before for Skittle Cakes. This is a return to form that Optic fans have been waiting for. Now into the top seven. Make it the top six here with the elimination of Elevate. They get to play from Heidea. They get to come straight out of the Lava Siphon Edge. And for Dark Zero, they themselves, they get some perfect potshots from afar.
01:21:06 Dark Zero masters at setting themselves up for exactly positions like this, where you get to bully, where you get to wage a war of attrition on the lobby from an inaccessible point. I tell you what, watching them play Apex Legends, Dark Zero does not make this game look fair.
01:21:26 They've got great position here and a height that will come down instead now for EEC. They'll find Dropped, a knock, which could ultimately spell the end for Optic, especially with Dark Zero's target, but at least, hopefully, puts them now into the top two here.
01:22:01 You talk about it well before we get into it. We get to hear the listening and the decision making from this roster before they're even 15 minutes ahead of where we see their win. I'll tell you what, for Dark Zero, the position they play out of on top of how they control the end zone was absolutely immaculate. But I cannot let this game walk away without talking about...
01:22:25 Optik. This is the best performance we have seen out of this roster in what feels like weeks. This was a much better performance and Optik have certainly used their scrim time wisely in order to prepare for these endgames and the fights that they had to take to get here. But Zephyr, this was also incredibly close. Optik, for as well as they're doing, are doing it by the skin of their teeth, by a hair's worth of health on Skittle.
01:22:52 Yeah, I mean, coming down to that excursion there, the mindset was correct. Come on top of the third party. We discussed it before the fight even happened. And credit where it's due, that fight was exceptionally clean on the other side of things here. Had it just been even a single knock or the crack to go alongside it, it would have been a much cleaner take from Optic there, even if they still do manage to clutch it up in the end. Yeah, this was...
01:23:17 Of course, a win that was very well deserved by Dark Zero picked up a lot of kills on the way. Optic, who you mentioned, doing quite well at the second place. Eternal, however, fly under the radar for the majority of the game, as do Oxygen. Being able to pick up kills, place actively quite well, but ultimately don't get access to that big, glorious finish.
01:23:44 We'll see what ends up in the end there for some of these rosters as we take a look at the bottom half of the board. Point spread as clear as it been on the top leaves a good chunk of the rosters we expect to see at the top asking for more. Furia, Moist, Complexity, Legacy, Lumen, I mean the list can go on and on.
01:24:02 I can't help but smile when I see it though, because this is the magic that makes me love North American Apex Legends. The fact that we have such high variability between where our literally top teams place, simply because everyone is just that good. I do want to take a look at how this has impacted our series results. After two matches, Dark Zero do still lead the pack, but Optic and Complexity right behind them does bode really well, especially for Optic.
01:24:32 Now I remind fans at home here, Optic are far from in the worst position walking into today. Even a top six performance regarding with some of how these other rosters perform could potentially be enough for them to make it to land. But if you don't want to rest on laurels, you don't want to rest on the very minor points that be. Something like second or above, or even potentially the win that you would hope you see is the best place for them to be.
01:25:26 Seems to be a little further off from that goal than scrims would have led me to believe. For teams on the lower end like Cloud9, of course, and for fan-favorite Xset, being down at 6th and 18th is a question that they'll have to solve, especially as we make our map change.
01:25:43 Well, let's actually talk about that, Zephyr, because the map change is coming up, and Stormpoint gives us a very different look at Apex Legends. It's a lot less safe, forgiving words that I have used in DMEA Broadcast. It introduces a lot more variability. So, as we prepare for Stormpoint, take a second, because this game is about to change, as are the leaderboards. We'll be right back after a short break.
Strategiewechsel und Teamdynamiken auf Stormpoint
01:28:0701:28:07 Welcome, everybody, back here with the ALGS. Game 3 is upon us, and that means we're switching maps and going to Stormpoint. I'm Randy, joined by Vicky Kitty. Vicky, Stormpoint always changes things for us, but it's been a great start to the day. What's your takeaway after 2? We saw, you know, Complexity have that scintillating start, and obviously Dark Zero, and they've continued to be our leaders and lead after 2 so far, after games that have looked really strong for them.
01:28:33 Yeah, Mike, the first thoughts are that after two games, there isn't...
01:29:33 You can see on the bottom, Cloud 9 Coastal Camp, an okay landing zone, but a lot of zones have pulled. Echo HQ, Barometer, they've pulled in that area, so should be a relatively easy rotation for them if it continues to be that way. And of course, on the northeastern side is TSM, Landing Lightning Rod near LG and Complexity. Many things to set up here, but it all depends where that zone pulls.
01:30:26 Especially in a moment like this in our ALGS Regional Finals for North America. Whether you're watching at home with your friends or by yourself on this cozy Sunday evening or morning or afternoon, we welcome you as a global audience as we kick off into Storm Point. The first time today to see if DSM Dark Zero Optik will pull away from the rest of the pack or if things will stay tight here as it already has been after two.
01:30:56 I love this nice little overhead. It really puts on the pressure for the teams that need to perform here, especially looking at how tight it's been for North America. Speaking of which, Ape Gang, with the mix-up here, actually trying to split some of that loot over to the north side of Sinulte Cave, but that is one member of Ape Gang trying to call out that sole member of Nine Lies since they landed Sinulte. Looks like he's trying to get away in time. Bursi just trying to make sure that he's made a statement, and it's the lifeline, because sometimes you can get amazing loot.
01:31:25 ... ... ... ...
01:32:39 It looked like they were taking the Trident to wrap around Ape Gang. And while Ape Gang was a duo before the Lifeline had come right back to the rest of the team, they took a lot of damage on that Trident. Luckily, they were able to reset and get away in time because look who's right behind them. It's the Fast and Furious Optic zooming in on their own Trident. You know, I mean, this is really the most... We could have a race here. Optic trying to search for where... Zero and...
01:33:09 The rest of his squad, Jin Burton, Zynu have gone. Optik has been a great addition to Apex Legends ever since they've been a part of it. They've been one of our orgs. We've loved having the pleasure of broadcasting. Skittle Cakes dropped, knocked. Three veterans and three excellent individual players. They're deadly at any point in time. Vicky, we could have been looking at Optik coming close to...
01:33:34 Having a showing at championships that might have even won them the trophy had things gone differently against some of the matchups they had versus NRG. But that obviously paved the way for TSM. I don't know if they want to repeat history here. I certainly think this is an optic that has something to prove. And they look poised to do it.
01:33:52 They didn't have the scriptwriters in their favor out here. That would have been a completely different timeline here, but that's why seeing how close they are right now, why they want to perform so that way they can get the run back over and land. You can see the side by side too, where this circle is going to be pulling over to that south side. Definitely expect that north side of Barometer to get congested very quickly. We sometimes have also seen this type of circle pull towards that sole building that is on the outskirts of Spider Cave, close to Barometer, and a team that manages to secure that build.
01:34:44 in round 2 in their B versus C matchup, which is atypical. Nobody in our top 10 has gotten close to one point. We've seen, I think, closest maybe four. But then they pop right back with a 25. So they won the game. They won the entire tournament. That, if anything, should describe how hot and cold Fury it can be. But I think they found the rhythm. They believe they found their rhythm. Madness and Squad have talked about this and Keon and...
01:35:11 His Watsons have said, you know, we've tried to work things out and we feel like we have done so. And heading into land, they are one of our top teams right now. But today, maybe not unnaturally, but surprisingly, at least for now, only two points. So trying desperately to have Stormpoint change their fortune soon as possible. Legacy here, on the other hand, have managed to get to the high ground where Oxygen lands in Barometer.
01:35:40 Und Spacestation mit Phoney 1. Manages to find safety inside of this building. Immediately gets scanned. But this is what we're expecting. There's going to be a lot of teams coexisting here in Barometer. Until the Circle so happens to be pulling towards that north side. We're going to have to see because we've seen this type of Circle mix up a lot of teams before. Who do not have access to that ring console in the early game.
01:36:03 Of course, Zainu. Great addition to SSG. Coming from Dark Zero, where Sykes replaced him this season. It's been great to see not only Phony and the squad get picked up by SSG, but SSG back into the ALGS. Get good news for the program. DSG, we talked about them. And had a bit of a conversation about the Wraith play. This time we see Timmy on the Bloodhound design. Really the Wraith player. And then a Rampart from Enemy. Shocked at this.
01:36:36 Look, I thought they were completing challenges, but they were cooking up a very similar team comp over in Scrims. And I know Dia is thriving right now, fellow Rampart player himself. Seeing Disguise try out something unorthodox. And right now, a season, a lot of teams have rather opted to go to where they found the most success. Something that they're more comfortable with. But then other teams being the trailblazer to something different. TSM obviously being one of the teams to still rock the Valkyrie. And despite even some end circles.
01:37:05 Problems, they've been finding the most success with this team comp, even trying to rotate, take their time, play more by the edge, and then trying to farm more of his evil harvesters while all the rest of the lobby, look at this, Ape Gang, Exit Complexity over by the west side of this next circle, and then combined with everybody else that has already taken up real estate inside of Barometer. As you can see, this one is moving south. So we talked about Cloud9 maybe having a chance here. Touch on their story in a moment, sitting.
01:37:33 Currently out of qualification. If things were to end right now, Optic would have taken their spot. But as we started this tournament in 12th, as a new representative here, representing Cloud9 back in Apex, definitely want to perform today. Plenty of time left. The one thing interesting about Rampart is that it's not the first time we've seen it, though, Vicky. We actually... I remember watching a lot of Rampart. Not a lot. I'll use that word.
01:37:58 you know sparingly but i've seen a few of it and it was really alliance actually they went through a phase in amea where they're experimenting with characters like ash and like rampart and it it actually worked for them for a while but as things settled out in the land it didn't really show up rampart though feels like she's got a place right now and at least storm point possibly as an option for a team that is trying to do something a little bit off meta and
01:38:41 Hey, with the perk system being included now to Season 20, that Sheila is absolutely scary. Ramping it up even quicker is something I do not want to see. That is my sleep paralysis demon in the works. But something that Eggset doesn't want to dwell on as a nightmare is making sure that they at least try to hold on to this high ground, but they lose out on the first interaction. Koi going down immediately cannot rejoin the rest of Eggset, because even if Koi tried to cross that distance, they would have just beamed them from behind. I'm not too sure. It doesn't look like Nok had that last nade, that smoke nade.
01:39:10 Until the very end there when he couldn't help out Koiful. Exet has to try to just salvage something out of this. No fight that they're taking is worth it compared to the other team that they're fighting. You know why? Because the only teams behind them in points are Moist and 8th Gang. So everyone else starting off a little bit better in that engagement. Exet needs to catch up. So Nine Lies on that rotation here. They're trying to find their way around. Native Gaming is in front of them. That's the team you see. Rambo trying to...
01:39:38 Surge's way forward with this squad. Sitting in 11th after two games. Nine lies patiently though. Guarding both sides. Still in. And with not many players. Actually I don't think anyone to their backs. They just have to face teams in front of them. Which is the lesser of two potential evils. That'll have them heading into this next zone goal.
01:40:00 Oh, what are they cooking? Break down the door. Say hello to my little friend. He gets the knock, but can you close in the gap here? Design. Oh, he actually does.
01:40:12 He got it! He got it! And then he gets a crack, too, at the same time, and then a knock aside from that. Timmy takes the portal next, tries to get the finish if he can, but instead it ends up being his demise. Here comes Enemy to give him some backup, but Disguise right now are cooking with something completely different. Complexity get eliminated. The first team to go down in this lobby. What a play from DSG. Designful says, come over here.
Und boy, they look cozy in a corner. DSG, big play, showing why Wraith still hat.
01:41:01 Now I can't believe what just happened there. Alright, you got the whole building. That is all yours. Don't worry. Exit quickly out of that mess, and they are playing off that low ground bridge. Seeing where this circle is going to be pulling more so to the south side of Barometer, teams like Optic Gaming continue to thrive in terms of their positioning. They called us out very early, and they're right now in the path of least resistance if you consider teams like Moist, who would be the other team to try to rotate through the Harvester side.
01:41:29 Yeah, one of the interesting and most impressive things about Optic is their position calling, and that's what Skittle Cakes is a master at. That's what this team does so well. Has that helped them to get to level 3 fast enough? Sometimes getting caught on those last-second circle pulls, a pull like Barometer we've seen before where it just is a little bit too far, forcing them to get a bit exposed.
01:41:49 But now, instead of running the Gibraltar, I think they feel a little more confident in their ability to stay safe and keep the Kostik safe on those rotations if it doesn't go their way. But they are not planning for failure. They're absolutely predicting success. And so far, they've predicted a good spot for the Zone. 19 Squad still alive with Zone 3 about to pull in in 20 seconds. TSM on the screen now with Reps on the Nemesis. Facing off against EEC, I believe, holding them.
01:42:18 At this angle. This is going to be tough for them to pull around. Vicky, you kind of have to acknowledge this squad, though. If you're TSM, it's way too far to wrap the other way if you don't start moving. There's about 15 seconds left. Looks like EEC and TSM both just going to call Evac Towers and say, let's fight somewhere else. And TSM actually faked the Evac, and they go for a Skyward Die.
01:43:18 That goes on the postage. That just seals your fate. Yeah, but maybe, just maybe, Verhulst and Hal can stabilize. And Mantic, the ones aiming at him. They've got a little bit of an angle. This is where Hal could just be saying, Verhulst, you gotta play your life. Verhulst knows it. He's done it before. That's a well-placed grenade. Almost takes both of them out. The cross, it almost takes Hal down. In fact, it does. And here's Verhulst. He's gonna have to go solo just to survive.
01:43:47 I'm not sure where he's going to go. He is in zone, Vicky, so maybe the idea is just outheal this. They're going to run out of grenades, most likely. The smoke actually ended up being the insurance policy that Verhulz desperately needed to come and clutch for him right now. Gives him some extra cover, some time to reset here. He's been able to pop the medkit and the bat.
Spannungsgeladene Kämpfe und Team-Eliminierungen im späteren Spielverlauf
01:44:0601:44:06 But unfortunately for him, having to play that out as a rep. We're not expecting Dropden Gaming to give up that high ground. They're staying up above them, while 8th Gang on the side are still trying to take some shots at Verhul's. Disguise now are also able to set up with those Rampart walls. You hear Jen with the bow check in his hand, and much more of this fighting happening on the north side of the circle before that circle closes in in less than 40 seconds. E8, 9 lives doing their best. Procrastination attempt, but homework, it's due.
01:44:35 They're going to have to get there at some point. They've been on the edge of that circle. And in about 30 seconds, they will have to move in. DSG will be waiting for them. Sentinels and RKN getting so low. He's going to have to big med here with the med kit. And he will get alive. At least they'll stay as a three. They are in zone. For how long? That's the question. Actually, no. They're right out of zone. They're far out of zone. Excuse me. I confused that building. They're going to have a big move coming up, Vicky.
01:45:05 Especially with the fighting happening over by the Barometer Tower side. Oxygen playing on the outskirts of this building. Before they start moving in, though, they're going to be exposed out in the open to the teams that have already secured that Hydron here. I'm talking about LG who were able to move.
01:45:20 Schubi und Zack Mays sind für Zapf.
01:45:46 Zapp, absolutly such a threat, but they're going to have to play this one without him and pull off a Miracle. They're going to try to use the tower to jump, but Shubi can't make it. Elevate, they're going to go out. So many teams are going to fall. Verhul is still alive as well, giving an eye on TSM. I think he might have dropped in this Chaos. I don't see him anywhere, but Exet is still alive, Vicky, and that's somebody you've been calling out. I don't think it's a full squad. It's a solo, but that will do wonders for them in their hopes of getting some points here in Game 3.
01:46:14 Surprisingly, Verhul's still alive for right now, though, while more of this fight is happening here inside the building. Native try to bunker their way and force their way into this building with the Kossak Gass just completely trying to take care of that health. Optic Gaming get eliminated. Native have successfully taken over this building, and you can even see sharing that, too, with nine lives who are playing off the other side. As you mentioned, great callout, TSM, as the numbers roll through.
01:46:41 Still in the lobby, so that means Heaven is somehow found a way. My map screen, I can't see him yet, but I know that Nine Lies is the only team that needs to be seen. The smokes are heavy, but so are the Volt Bullets. Dynasty takes that one down. Iwope is going to have a chance to go back and maybe get Lazer up. Dynasty trying to wait just a little bit. He closes the door, says figure it out. And it somehow worked out for him. Luxford is going to back off. And Nine Lies will...
01:47:09 Ich habe noch eine andere.
01:47:37 And it's Nocturnal. It's underneath. 36 points for Dark Zero. Vicky, I mean, it's possible. 21 players left. And still a lot of placement points to be picked up. I think there's 8 squads, maybe 9. 14 points. It could happen. It could happen. Dark Zero, one of the teams that has a chance to actually get on match point. But they're going to have to go through Oxygen in vain.
01:48:20 These nades coming in from EEC. Going absolutely nuclear here. Ape game get eliminated. Five squads left. And DZ, by the way, uncontested as a duo from the south side of this final circle. Even nerfed. They somehow always find themselves in the endgame. It's incredible. If they win, I mean, just placement points wise, I think they're going to get about six if they win. And so what that would do...
01:49:16 This, this team is unreal. They always end up doing this and they are in the best spot. Look at Zero with 4 KP alone, following up with Sykes, uncontested in this, building away from the bang ult, from trying to slow them down, covering the space, and all these teams, once this circle closes in behind them, as it's closing in right now, they're gonna be funneled into each other and Dark Zero is just gonna have free range with nobody pressuring them. There's no reason.
01:49:43 Zero is gliding behind that.
01:50:11 B.S.H.E.H.E.H.E.H.E.H.E.H.E.C.
01:50:37 Oh my god, Dark Zero going in. I think LG is going to have this one, though. I just have a feeling Sweet has played his cards right. DC would have to pull off a miracle. But there it is, Zero. We've seen him do it before. Will LG somehow be able to take the win against Dark Zero and prevent a match point? They will! We all knew we could bet on Sweet.
01:50:57 You highlighted Ben Marine. And their patience pays off. Sweet with the call to just walk it in slowly. DZ played that as well for second place if they could. And that's why you saw Zero fully sent it off after dropped in right there. But LG needed that dub. And after three games, they finally get it. I mean, I would say from the pre-show to a couple of the earlier games, I'm sure you guys have touched on them. But for a team that...
01:51:24 Fully could have their own segment on this show and the history and what they've done this season LG show up in a way and force us to have this narrative run with them and I love it because Sweet, Funk Slayer in this position though they are probably not in the best spot Vicky they have three full players instead of two and instead of being in a contest early and they're so smart guided by the brains of Sweet and I think that just gives them that edge
01:51:52 Maybe Sykes get a little bit too KP-hungry, goes in with EEC, but I'm just really, really, I think it's a great showcase that, hey, LG is here to play. It's regional finals. It's LAN coming up. Let's not forget about them. Let's bring in Zephyr as well to talk about that. Hopefully, you know, we could see more of this sweet madness continue on. It was a close one. DZ almost pulled it off, but it was LG in the end with a victory.
01:52:17 Yeah, I mean, and on top of that, we don't give them enough credit in the fact that they were to the low, right? I mean, they were the team coming right out of the heart of Barometer there to try and make this one happen. They had to deal with the remnants of both EEC and Ape Gang in their position before they found that rotation out. And then on top of things, with Drop in Gaming coming all the way down, it was incredible that Luminosity, even as a trio having that benefit, were still able to deliver the punch that counted. What was surely a position in roughly 10th should never...
01:52:46 Well, you know, that's a great setup for a person who I would love to bring on here very soon. I know that we've got him joining with us. He was here in EMEA, should be here with us now. Jayhawk, are you with us? I am. How's everybody doing?
01:53:04 What is up, man? We're doing fantastic. It's great to have you here again. Jayhawk, for those who are watching our broadcast, content creator, streamer extraordinaire, and ALGS aficionado. Make sure to follow him, whether he's streaming or making new YouTube videos. And he's joined us on broadcast several times. Jay, I want to have this conversation first about LG, because I don't think we've talked about them enough. What were your takeaways in that final zone and how LG was able to pull that out?
01:53:32 Yeah, LG's ride, this whole split, has been a little bit of a rollercoaster. To start off, when they first became a team, there was a lot of doubters. People didn't think that this team was going to live up to the previous rosters that Sweet has had. And they came out hot. And then we saw the season meta change. All of a sudden, they're kind of doing okay, still in position to go to LAN. But it feels like they're finally getting their footing in the Season 20 meta. And, I mean, we're going to get into this game a little bit later. But coming all the way from Zeus to the northern map and winning a barometer zone, incredibly impressive.
Optic Gamings Herausforderungen und die Bedeutung solider Leistungen
01:54:0201:54:02 You know, I want to follow up with one of our Tier 1 orgs that we keep highlighting, and right now they are showing up, but they really have to come in full force, and it's the green wall. Optic Gaming, I mean, before this game, they were sitting in second, right behind the consistent team that is Dark Zero. What do you think Optic needs to do now as they try to ride that small momentum that they've built up for themselves without faltering? Because I feel like once the vibes have been completely killed for this team, they just continuously snowball downwards.
01:54:30 Yeah, Optik, I mean, their split's been rough. I don't think they've won a single game the entire time. They almost won game two, but they still couldn't close it out. But I think for them, they need to have the mindset that it's win or go home, and they don't want to rush because we've seen in Matchpoint, even in EMEA today, a team can reach that 50-point threshold incredibly fast, and that might make you panic and try to put up these huge games.
01:54:55 If we've learned anything from every Match Point Lobby that has happened on LAN, oftentimes you're going to get a few more chances than you might expect, especially in a region as stacked as NA, where so many teams can take the win. So I think for OpTic, you just don't want to rush. You want to continue having solid performances. And shout out to that man Skittle, because that game one rap play was fantastic.
01:55:16 Well, ultimately, at the end of the day, as decided as things are, only three teams have come out on top with these wins for our first three matches. Let's take a look at some of these early circles and get the official Jayhawk aficionado knowledge for how they ended. Of course, this first one, Complexity makes the sweeping moves here. Talk to me about the timing and especially how they control this space this game.
01:55:40 Yeah, I mean, as you can see on screen here, they made that cross from the jungle gyms they were holding throughout the game over to these boxes. And I liked the early push because it put a lot of pressure on DSG here from the height to try and make a play. And they couldn't just pick whatever boxes or angles they wanted. And it also closed out some of the space that DSG would have to potentially take a fight against TSM. And I think that early little rotate without taking damage, mind you, was the key to this victory because it forced DSG to eventually drop. They were able to put pressure on a design on the Wraithcore on the other side. He had to go back to the height.
01:56:10 And then boom, as they're fighting against TSM, Complexity comes in for the easy third party, all because of that early move. And of course, speaking of easy third parties here, it would not be a discussion without, of course, Dark Zero in this game too.
01:56:25 Ja, in NA we have seen a lot of these weird pulls where a lot of teams are expecting it to go one way and then it counters back up a different way. Specifically around Siphon, we've seen a couple of these where a lot of people thought it was going to the south side. It moves to the north. Well, guess what? That's where Dark Zero is waiting. They get the pull straight to him. EA is kind of pressuring them from the south side. Them, along with Oxygen, they take care of it. And then once they did that with this height, Optic has descended for the potential second place and DZ is able to come in, wipe it relatively easily.
01:56:55 It's a great pull for DZ, but also just masterful positioning from Dark Zero to know that it could counter pull to the north. And of course at the end here, Dark Zero at the advantage with this number here are able to pick up a quick win and as you called it, a classic Dark Zero victory here. So optimally at the end of the day, this is something that sets them up to start their lead regarding our first three games, but it's not one they're able to hold onto going into match three as a duo.
01:57:24 Yeah, as I mentioned earlier, LG taking this win, incredibly impressive coming all the way from Zeus Station. But I do want to shout out this DZ duo. We have seen some insane duo plays in the past. Zero and their new edition Sykes, they were almost able to replicate that split two playoffs win over Bromber. They weren't quite able to get it done. But for a moment there, you thought DZ getting back-to-back wins, that momentum might not be able to get stopped. LG, luckily for the Lobby, is able to take that win and maybe hold off DZ.
01:58:10 Yeah, it's interesting because we've seen so many different approaches to this season that figuring out what's happening is it's almost we're just getting enough information and putting together, well, okay, these tend to be the results. But going into it, I feel like these teams are still in that experimental phase on what is going to work. Dark Zero, 19 points, but they take the most points in that game as a duo. LG, 17 points, though, and a great win puts them in a very...
01:58:37 Good spot. A big shout out to Drop-In Gaming, EEC. They were kind of going toe-to-toe with DZ as well. And Cloud9 showing up in a way where they probably needed to, for sure, given the fact that they're sitting in 12th. And they need to best that performance if they want to stay in the qualification spot for LAN. Our bottom 10. That leads us to teams who we got to look, hopefully, to Game 4 to step up.
01:59:00 And TSM, we actually saw the story with them. The rotation just didn't quite work out for them. Left Hal and left Reps down and Hal and Verhulz to fight for basically a crumb. And that crumb was not enough to sustain either of them. DSG was a few kills on the way there. Let's take a look at the overall standings. And Jayok, I want to get your thoughts here once we see these, how it's shaped out after three. DZ, if they won the game, they would have been on match point. But EEC, LG, Optic, DSG are two through five. And even are two?
01:59:29 Yeah, the one thing that actually stands out to me here is Eternal and Optic up near the top.
02:00:02 They need to win this lobby. And so they're hoping that they can have a similar situation maybe to EMEA where that first team to reach match point isn't quite able to get it done. And they have a few more games. Same for another team like Drop-In Gaming. On the outside looking in before today, you see Cloud9, you see Xset right above them. Can they get enough of a gap above those two teams to maybe even jump into that 12th place spot themselves?
02:00:25 Ich meine, DIG, wir sprechen über den Ex-Sets in front of them, right? Right now, Drop-In-Gaming macht eine Significant-Headway auf der Ex-Set-Match-Up, macht eine Head-Way auf der Cloud9-Match-Up in front of them.
02:00:5202:00:52 So teams on the bubble here, very scared. And Dark Zero, luckily for many of them, not putting us on match point just yet. But that's a great call out. I want to also bring the attention to what we're seeing with DSG. It was kind of funky. We see iteration all over the place where Lifeline or whether we'll see a fuse here or there. But Rampart is one of those legends that you've got to kind of talk about. Enemy on Rampart.
02:01:21 Walk me through your thoughts on this and what you feel Rampart is bringing to this team and the choice they're making and whether you're a fan.
02:01:29 Well, my chat is probably laughing like crazy right now, because I am actually not a fan of Rampart. I am very renowned for not enjoying the Rampart gameplay. I will say her strengths, she's great at taking space, and when you have that Sheila fired up, especially with the perks that she got, you have better handling and movement speed, it's very deathly. And with DSG's playstyle, they obviously want to control a lot of that space.
02:01:53 As said, I personally don't love the Rampart because I feel like it's somewhat of a false security. You feel like these walls allow certain spots to be playable. But in a competitive lobby of ALGS, a lot of teams are going to be able to nade stack you, just shoot down the walls with all the ammo that they're going to have, especially with all these teams coming out from the edge that DSG is going to be engaging with. So I personally don't love the Rampart, but I do like that DSG is willing to experiment because I do love the Wraith that they're running on World's Edge. And we've seen historically the teams that are willing to
02:02:36 I think that's more so part of it than what we talk about enough. Because a lot of times when it comes down to a fight, it's just somebody hit their shots and they didn't. A lot of times when it comes down to a team playing well, somebody's on a comfortable legend or they're not. And the meta dictates an uncomfortable legend for that player. And it takes time to get used to it. But we've seen the best do it. We've seen Verhulz adjust to the catalyst. He's adjusting the caustics and things now. What have we seen here with the Wraith though? Because for me...
02:03:02 I got to play Season 20 early. We kind of were excited about some of these changes. Could the old Wraith be back? Not many teams have touched her. The fast phase has been great. I like the tactical cooldown as well. But in pro play, we've seen a little bit more of the ultimate cooldown and the attack cooldown chosen. How do you feel Wraith has transitioned into Season 20 as a pick? Because design showing us the kidnaps into the, you know, into the Rampart shield. I can see what they're thinking.
02:04:25 A Wraith port, you can just go building to building and ensure that you're not going to be punished for it. And I think that that micro rotation ability, specifically on World's Edge, where there's so many rocks and buildings and playable spots, that just crossing is the most important part. I think that it enables DSG to play in spots that many teams wish they could be playing, but they can't because they can't rotate like the Wraith can.
02:04:46 It certainly takes a lot of trust, too, to have someone play Wraith, because you've got to take that portal, you've got to know they're going to set it up, they're going to stay alive, they're going to put your team in a position, and you don't know what's on the other side every now and then, but I think when you have it in the hands of a player like Designful, or you have it in the hands of a player like Imperial Howl that you mentioned, there's got to be a lot of success that can come off of the back of that.
02:05:06 Vicky, I want to open it back up to you on what we've been talking about, or if you have something else to kind of dig in with Jayhawk now that he's here with us. And we've kind of deep, we've already had that deep dive on a few of these highlights that we've seen after our first three games.
02:05:19 Yeah, I actually want to reference back towards the different legend compositions that we keep getting exposed to, kind of like the individual players that are the outliers for a lot of these other team comps. Finally, finding what you feel the most comfortable on, and in Design's case, being the Wraith, despite nobody else running something like that. I mean, I want to figure things out here, Jayhawk, with less cryptos in a lobby like this, and seeing as we have one more game on Stormpoint before we go back over to World's Edge, it's interesting to see that we aren't seeing even more of it.
02:05:49 those cryptos to combat a lot of these caustics. I mean, we even know that Fuse could be a problem to a composition like that if there's no Watson gen, which we've only seen his Watson running the Watson. When do you think more of these teams are going to want to pick up on things that they may have to forcibly get comfortable on or even resort to what they felt were the most successful comps that they've had in the history of ALGS?
02:06:12 Well, this is why I just get so excited when LAN comes around, because if there's anything we've seen from APAC North, it's they love the crypto and they love the Watson. And that's just such a different play style than what North America runs. The reason I don't think that North America...
02:06:25 Personally prefers the Crypto. It's a challenge we saw with meat lovers in the past when they would use the Crypto, where the Crypto trying to be engaged in very aggressive pushes, if he's on his drone to start the fight, he's going to be delayed. So it starts out as sort of a 2v3, which the Crypto alt does somewhat equalize that when you do get the damage onto the opposing teams. But when the flip side happens, if you're using the Crypto, you don't have a lot of defensive capabilities outside of maybe preemptively.
02:06:55 using that ult on a team that wants to push you. Whereas the current meta of a Bangalore Bloodhound Caustic, they bang smoke you, then they Bloodhound scan to see you through it, and then a Caustic ult comes out. I think that people either want to either directly counter that, having their own Caustic in Bangalore and Bloodhound, or this is where I think NA can maybe step it up a little bit, running with Watson. I feel like the Watson in this meta is actually incredibly underrated.
02:07:22 Yeah, it's definitely something that has elicited some more of that controllable space on a heavier defensive end that also on top of it allows teams to kind of sustain out for a bit of a bit longer window, allowing them to potentially find those Evos or shields while also having the security to build, of course, the shielding alongside that. But I'm going to keep with the theme here. I am curious to get some more of those Season 20 Legends takes.
02:07:47 When it comes to what we've seen, especially from the EMEA regions, especially with Aurora on this lifeline, can you give me an inkling of the why we may not see it here in North America, and potentially more importantly, your opinion on whether or not this is a pick that may be coming potentially more meta as we approach LAN?
02:08:06 Well, I don't want to fanboy too much, but I really think it just comes down to NA doesn't have Hardeki. I mean, the guy's crazy. You give Hardeki a wingman and you just let him go to work. It's honestly something to behold because when they run the Bangalore and the Bloodhound and they put that smoke and that blood scan out, all of a sudden, not only do you have your other two players and specifically the Bloodhound putting so much damage downrange, but Hardeki only needs two or three bullets and he can put somebody down with that wingman. So I think that's a big reason why we don't see NA running the lifeline.
02:08:36 But also, I think that Aurora is just one of those teams that they're incredibly aggressive playstyle. Not a lot of NA teams actually have as much commitment, if you will, to that playstyle. I think that NA, the region as a whole is definitely more aggressive than NA, but I don't think that there's any individual team that quite has that mindset that Aurora has, where they're into fights and it's all or nothing.
02:09:02 Jayhawk just called all of North American pro players scared to play Lifeline. Well, let's see how you respond, pros. I can't wait. And if you're mad, just, you know, at Jayhawk and talk to him about it. Hey, Jay, all jokes aside. Prove me wrong. You've got to be better than Hardecki. That's right. That's a hard task for sure. The Grim Reaper, he's got his name for a reason. Thanks so much for joining us, man. And we'll hopefully be able to talk to you again. Absolutely appreciate it.
02:09:28 All right, Jayhawk, everybody. Listen, that was great. Thank you so much, everyone, on the viewing side for your patience. We were working at an issue and getting right back into the action once everything is settled. It seems like it is settled. So without further ado, let's get into it. Vicky, Zef, let's go.
02:09:45 Thank you so much, Rain Day. All right, Zef, finally getting started to go into game number four, our final game on Storm Point before we make that transition into World's Edge. But I love talking to Jayhawk, getting his thoughts on where he could theorycraft, where the Legend Cop meta could be swaying in one region versus another, but specifically as we get ready for our fourth game here.
02:10:06 Alright, well...
Strategische Beobachtungen und Team-Dynamiken in Spiel 4
02:10:2302:10:23 Now that we dive right into our next game of Regional Final, I just wanted to say thank you guys so much for your patience and waiting alongside us, figuring things out here before we dive into our fourth game on Stormpoint. But I'm excited to see how this plays out, especially looking at LG finally building up some of that momentum that they needed here.
02:10:39 Yeah, definitely for most of these teams, especially the lower-oriented ones, they can rest a bit on their laurels given the fact that they've built up their split one points, but especially for teams like Optic, who are beginning to slightly fall out of that top favor. I mean, think about what Jayhawk just said. Teams like Dark Star, you want them to settle things out early here, especially to make sure that we see those points build up and settle out early so that you don't have teams like potentially Cloud9 or Xset sweeping in and taking...
02:11:08 Das war's für heute.
02:11:34 Es ist immer ein First-Time für alles. Get-Comfortable-Being-Uncomfortable, right, Zephyr? Und Dropped-In-Gaming. Already, off the rip. Gonna be able to get the loot that they need here. I feel a fear in my stomach every time someone says, get comfortable, nowadays. I can hear his voice literally ringing in my head. It's terrifying. It's not quite in my dreams yet, but I would not be surprised.
02:11:57 I also do want to make a note here that Dark Zero will be playing with the sub while they figure things out on their end. Drop in gaming. Well, after getting some loot over to the side, we're also going to be able to get a nice ring console. Getting even more information to where this circle is going to be pulling. Because guess what? We are taking a trip all the way over to the west side of this map. So this could potentially be pulling towards Mill. We're going to have to see once we get that map feed up for you guys.
02:12:22 And there you go. So a lot of the other teams, actually speaking of Dark Zero, will be able to have that POI advantage off the rip. But I want to take a look at teams like ApeGank and E8s that will make that rotation. E8 kind of denying that ring console opportunity from the other squads that are going to be rotating from the east side.
02:12:38 It's a good gatekeeping opportunity there, but more importantly, I'm most interested, I feel like a broken record, in Optic here. Starting out in Downed Beast, this is the best rotation you could have asked for, especially in their next game of Stormpoint. So whether it be Hand in Position over Mill or one of these buildings ahead here, this is a guaranteed potential endgame if they are able to defend it, which so far today, they have been able to do so.
02:13:04 I feel cursed. I feel like between Amia and NA, this is like the third or fourth time we've seen a very similar end circle to this, especially uphill there. But Koifu is the first one to get knocked again, it looks like. Exit, a team that needs everything to make it into LAN, a team that hasn't been absent from LAN before. Losing out on Koifu is everything in this fourth game. I think it is just...
02:13:29 so risky to extend that kind of movement when we're talking about an already round one close i know it's minimal timings but at the end of the day when we talk about especially the regional final level teams that you're seeing squads like drop in gaming are already making the rotations and being split like that is a huge loss for xa it won't completely deny them this game especially with time on the board but i don't even know if they're going to get that banner back
02:13:56 It comes to highlight how quick Dropped-In was with their rotate. We saw them early on. Lue to Stormcatcher and then immediately rotate through Cascade Falls, calling out Koifo, who was separated from the rest of his team while he was trying to split Lue. E8 now, also caught in the middle of their rotate. It is Zero on the high ground with the rest of Dark Zero now. Jett makes his appearance now also, subbing in from Jen Burden.
02:14:19 Well, we get to welcome Jet right back here. We also get to highlight Zero's Loot Bowl. He got the Hemi. He may not have a sight for it, but he does have that Gold Extended Heavy Mag. This is something that can optimally provide the difference in a lot of these fights. The AR is kind of rearing their head with the Season 20 changes. The Hemlock, most notably due to its excessive damage on top of that, that cliff to go alongside it is something that could potentially, well...
02:14:44 As you've already seen, Bully E8 wound down to one member remaining. Optic are more than happy to try and clean this up. Literal Vulture is feacing in on what was left from the scraps of Zero and how he left the rest of E8. Optin Gaming now profiting in this building. Couldn't clean up the rest of that while Zap tries to run away for his life. Nowhere to go, nowhere to hide as Nine Lies also picked that up. Leaving them out of the lobby now as...
02:15:08 Currently see more of these teams taking control of the DBZ buildings. Double Trident waiting outside of this building, which could be used as future makeshift cover.
02:15:18 This is something that we'll have to watch later, especially with the transition for so many of these teams out and away here. Dark Zero, obviously, from high ground control, should be able to at least bully them out here as we get them back on towards that Godrock hype. But even past that, some of these teams out from Mill, depending on where they set themselves up, could be able to capitalize.
02:15:43 See the pings from the teams that are now exiting out of Senote Cave, that's gonna be Sentinels coming out of the choke. We know that Oxygen Esports are tailing right behind them. It is also nice to note that both the ring console as well as the Survey Beacon were inside of Senote Cave, so both Sentinels and Oxygen coming out of that POI with a lot of information here, while Zero's still holding a very split position to try to take a much more aggressive approach, so that way the other teams from the side building do not try to pepper them out. Hmm.
02:16:11 Now for Sentinels, this is another roster that we talked about earlier today that needs to find their way to something akin of that win and so far have been unable to push past the upper echelon of these placements for Oxygen behind them. It's a free pickup on Luda and especially with this next rotation head, albeit it's a catalyst, it's a great coverage on this wall. They don't have the numbers here to face off against Optic and this rotation will be punished.
02:16:39 Oh, between the Sentinels shot, that was charged up the RKN, and then the triple take to just top it all off. He is on the six, probably one if he hasn't been knocked already. He just gets knocked right now, as I said that, by nine lives. And he's playing off that bottom building, too, only leaving one left from Sentinels.
02:16:59 You can already see Dynastied here from Nine Lies, and of course Zero extending out to potentially take advantage of this lone member, the Ego Challenge, the 1v1, and of course now with Dynastied closing in from the other side, it's almost guaranteed that Sentinels go down near, I believe, as we'll have to continue to check regarding the overalls, Dark Zero might have just qualified off of that. Or, sorry, might have just set themselves up for match point.
02:18:42 The thankful thing is they've got to try it, right? Usually they'd be playing off the back end of Designful on that Wraith, but this is the bit of movement that gives them the coverage to make it to bridge. How much further they can go, personally as a duo, I don't know. Pulling this one back for a bit of cover, you can already see that Legacy looks to launch to take advantage, and now with the beam set ahead, it is just barely a rolling thunder that holds them back.
02:19:07 Nice little gift with the Rampart walls too, because look who was coming in to try to third party this at the right opportunity. TSM coming out of the choke from Checkpoint right next to Legacy and disguised now with only Timmy alive. Seeing if he can maybe try to get this res onto Enemy if nobody else is left in front of them looking at them and keeping them in their line of sight. The Trident doesn't give them the cover that they need. Right on cue, they were waiting, trying to use Enemy as bait to find Timmy.
02:19:35 Stuck behind the back wall. We'll find the bat for now, but for Timmy has to somehow wrap this one out to survive for the rest of this game, especially now with enemy down. But TSM in a heavy building across here, just as quickly as they appear, will be found knock-dropped down by Zynu. Thankfully, it is going to be Veraholz getting back inside here for that sustained revive. And of course, what should be a hold on this building, but moving in.
02:20:02 Rab's calling in the bang ult right now, but a little too late with the team now swooping in, trying to break down the door. Hal trying to cover the high ground here, only leaving Reps on the low ground. He needs some help. He tries to swing as his back was turned to him by the door, and he immediately gets taken down by Yanya.
02:20:19 Pops back up here. Hal has to make for the quick recovery. Great pick up on Jaguars. That's a nice shield swap that should be available when Reps is pulled back up here, especially with the door broken down. Yanya, though, this is the challenge that B. A quick shatter, though, from Hal. Makes it easy for TSM. Amazing callout right there, Zephyr. They win on top. They take care of Legacy here.
Unsicherheit und Unterbrechung des Turniers
02:20:4502:20:45 And we are getting word right now that the lobby may be actually going through a reset too. So with all that early fighting and even taking control of a really good position, I mean, that circle was definitely going to benefit the lights have dropped in if you consider the fact that it was ending up right by a mil. We'll do our best to confirm what's going on here as we get more information for all these teams, especially with our late end there. But still, at the end of the day, we got to see some great signs of life.
02:21:13 from so many of our rosters here in North America as they got the chance to at least play on half of that one. Yeah, hoping to at least carry some of that momentum into the next game right here too, because once again, that is the last game on Storm Point before we do make that transition back over to World's Edge. So, at least for the time being here.
02:21:32 Optimally, we still do sustain what should be Dark Zero in the league. But of course, as we get things confirmed behind the scenes here, there might be some extra time for some of these teams to work out with some of those additional points as we solve some of these things, at least behind here.
02:21:48 Yeah, and while we do do that, I do want to retouch on the fact that looking at how Dark Zero was performing right there, they were able to get that two extra KP. So we're also waiting to see if that does build up into the next game since they were able to get that two KP or if that does have to revert back over while they were sitting with 48 points originally before getting into that game.
02:22:08 A nice thing to note, too, is we do get to see some of those top-oriented teams once again reappear towards this endgame. And while it may not be the same things of life that we'll see going into the future, the sites that we get to see, especially teams like TSM, find their way to the double-take on that fight should be something that bears good news for their pacing and aggression, especially as we potentially re-approach that Storm Point matchup.
02:22:33 And talking about the differences in where some of these circles could be pulling, looking at StorePoint, if we do have another very similar circle to that of Mill, since we've seen it so many times coming from Emilia to NA, teams like Nine Lines were in a very good position for that final circle on that quick rotate there too. Hopefully with some of these teams also making a difference and changing up the timing on how they want to rotate and their pathing on the ease of oil harvesters, this could really work well to the teams that have been playing on the bubble and haven't been able to find that stride with the changes at Season 20 as well.
02:23:02 Brot.
02:23:03 Yeah, and we've talked about a little bit of those timings with some of these teams who are more oriented towards that edge play style. And even though, yes, Nine Lies, and even a team like Optic, who sets themselves up right alongside them in that nut, get their place fairly early, it is going to be how they capitalize, whether these zones change and set themselves up, as we have seen in the past here. For Optic, if you're a big fan, obviously that quick rotation there is something that also continues to bear weight, as so far today they have been an inkling within.
02:23:32 every single end zone here.
02:23:36 And with the consistency that they've had, too. Talking about Optic in general, how they needed to really have a pop-off day. If you were going to wait to the very end, this is the day to do it if you're Optic playing also by the bubble that we mentioned. Disguise bring in a very unorthodox comp. They did not have the best start going into that previous game. We saw that, unfortunately, the Rampart Walls could only do so much. It's very similar to what Jayhawk was mentioning. It gives you that false sense of security with those barriers, and you really have nowhere to go, too. Once you lose out on that one,
02:24:06 Rotational Tool, in that case being Design, since he was the first one to go out. And it looked like he could have gone out by actually trying to bridge in that gap between themselves. And Natina was trying to gatekeep them. Going in next, though, they could try to find a way to maybe give Design some more suppressed cover if he is trying to set up a better rotational pathway.
02:24:23 Hey, huge shoutout, though. Even without design there, you do see them try to take advantage of the situation at hand. They play around the Trident in a lickety-split second and find their way to what was going to be a great position on that bridge. At the end of the day, though, these teams in Regional Files can definitely smell the weakness that is a duo there. And it's not quite like a Dark Zero duo that's able to work their way into the end. So optimally, in the end, DSG is pushed back.
02:24:48 but still gets to show, like I've said many times before, the signs of life that some of these teams are pressuring with, even with a particularly off meta composition.
02:24:58 Yeah, and with a lot of these different comps and the fact that there's been 100 perks included into Season 20, while we do start figuring out what's happening right now, guys, it's interesting to highlight how a lot of these different Legend comps and the changes that they've had across all the different regions and what it's influenced for some of these teams, they're playing to their strengths. We're seeing teams like Optic still opt to go to the best days of their comp life with the Double Big Boy and Valkyrie. The Valkyrie being a pretty heated topic, especially if you look at these last games.
02:25:28 or rather the endgame, that we've seen TSM try to go for a lot of these Valk ults here. But while we are currently investigating some ongoing issues, we are going to be investigating, and while we do on this break, we're going to make sure everything is good to go and give you guys an updated list of what is happening here. Don't go anywhere, guys. It is the Regional Fire Hill for North America, and you don't want to miss out on the action.
02:37:19 Hey, everyone. Randy here. We have an official statement from EA and League Ops, so we're going to read that to you now. Due to the competitive integrity of this series being compromised, we have made the decision to postpone the NA Finals at this time. We're going to share information soon, and as we have it, we will keep you guys updated. Thanks, everybody, for watching, and we'll keep you updated on things to follow.
