00:03:4700:03:47 Since its inception in 2016, Force Blue, the only non-profit organization in the world that retrains and redeploys Special Operations Veterans and military trained combat divers to work alongside scientists on marine conservation missions, has been involved in efforts to preserve and restore coral reefs throughout the U.S. and the Caribbean.
00:04:12 Force Blue veterans have taken part in the outplanting of corals to rebuild degraded reefs. They have helped repair damaged reefs in the aftermath of hurricanes and have intervened to stop the spread of deadly coral diseases. And now we are proud to announce Force Blue will soon be expanding its reach internationally, sending teams to Okinawa and Indonesia this summer to engage in coral reef restoration missions.
00:04:40 This expansion comes at a critical time. Coral reefs, which are home to a quarter of the planet's marine life, provide livelihoods for millions of people across the globe and are essential in protecting coastal communities when storms and erosions are facing unprecedented threats. Rising water temperatures, CO2 levels, pollution and overfishing have all played a role in our rapidly accelerating coral decline. In the last 15 years alone,
00:05:08 Scientists estimate more than 14% of the world's corals have vanished. Forest Blue extends its heartfelt thanks to all those who have supported us in the past and to those who continue to support our ongoing efforts to stem this tide.
Ankündigung des World Ocean Month Streams mit besonderen Gästen und Werbegeschenken
00:05:4000:05:40 Hello everyone and good evening and welcome to this week's weekly stream where we'll be commemorating World Ocean Month. There'll be a bit of gameplay obviously because we've got some new ships out today as well as the trading event so feel free to ask us if you think any of them are worth swapping a premium ship that you're not perhaps a great fan of. But that's not all, we will also have two interviews today with Scott Risenhoff of Force Blue.
00:06:05 The group that helped us put together Frog Fathers and are helping us work on Frog Fathers too, as well as their work in coral reef conservation. And that's not all. We also have an interview with someone from Fisher Space Pens. Yes, the famous, the Soviets used a pencil in space, the Americans developed a pen. That's these people. And there will even be some giveaways. There's some quite nice stuff, some books and even some of those famous space pens.
00:06:33 But it's not just me today. I am joined, as usual, by one of my colleagues, Mr. Blood Minister.
00:06:43 And that's me. Hey, guys. Glad to be here week to week. I mean, crazy, right? How often does that happen? Especially on such an interesting stream with giveaways, rewards, special guests, killer bin, with or without the cat ears. Well, I think without right now. They're on the duck.
00:07:09 Because, you know, during the last week's stream, I think they were more often on the head of El Cateni than mine. So, sorry. No, I'm not a special guest. No, no, no, no, no, no. Killerbin just said who will be the special guests on the stream. So, if you just tuned in, Kismet, then, well, you will have to wait and see. Yes.
00:07:35 So we'll just sort of jump straight into it for the first part, where I think you, Mr. Blood, prefer Willem de Erste, don't you? Oh, you want to go straight into business? I think we'll go straight to business. Sure, let's do that, let's do that. I'm not sure. So we, guys, just to kick it off, we have two new ships starting today, at least for EU, right? Yep. One for Steel, which is Willem de Erste.
Ja.
00:08:29 But we are having problems agreeing who will play which. Yeah, like I had enough steel for Wilhelm. I don't currently have enough research points for Irresistible. So as you can see here, for me, it's just a rental. Even we in Wargaming don't get every ship for free. Well, I managed to collect enough resources to get both for free, of course. I just need to remember to reset when the doubles are on. Okay, so...
00:08:58 Ben, quick pick then, which one do you prefer to play? I'll take out Irresistible, because I like Cerberus, the tier 10 Commonwealth cruiser, and this is kind of like a super-sized version. Crawling smoke, good guns, rapid fire, the smallest guns on any battleship in the game we have though.
00:09:18 At least on Tier 10. I think in all battleships. Any of them? 234. Most battleships start at 305. Yeah. I guess you're right. That is pretty interesting. And Andy reports that he likes Irresistible. What about Willem de Erste, Andy? And by the way, hi, good seeing you. Oh, actually, no. Illinois. No, yes. Yes, 18 versus 203. No, I stand corrected. Let's get into the game. Let's go.
Vorstellung der neuen Schiffe Irresistible und Willem de Erste
00:09:4900:09:49 So, um, obviously you'll need to tell me about both of these ships. You have 15 kilometer airstrikes. Yeah, I know, I know. But tell not only me, but the audience. Start with the Irresistible since you're playing her. Yes, so Irresistible plays like Giga Perth. You've got a Crawling Smoke and you've got a 16 rapid firing 234 millimeter guns. So you do get quite a lot of HE pen.
00:10:17 You don't get a Hydro, and it is based on a Marlborough's hull. So you really want to be careful how you position, because if you get caught broadside in this and you're not in your smoke, your match will go very badly, very quickly. But again, your reload is, with my setup, 10.6 seconds, and I've got 20km range.
Okay, okay. Ich habe schon ein paar Fragen. Nr. 1. Wie viele Jahre sind du bei Wows? Feels like ages. Wow, du machst mich so old, man.
Ja. Das ist wie lange wir haben. Ja, Zeit flies. Will es ein Mission Calendar dieses Mal? Ich muss mich nicht vergessen. Ich kann mich nicht vergessen. Ja, ich bin sicher, dass wir eine. Ich glaube, dass wir eine haben. Ich denke, dass wir eine haben. Ja. Hi.
00:11:36 Um, did I put a Conrad on him? Of course I did, of course I did. Although, a caveat here, I don't have a 21 points Conrad, I have a 20 points Conrad. But that meant that I only, I think, utilized 17 points because I'm still waiting for, yeah.
00:11:55 Will we get our new waterline soon? So the team is working on stuff like that to give you an idea of what you can expect coming on later in the year. We don't have a set date yet for that. Look, TLDR, like the last waterline, are we sure that's what we're showing? No. We promised that the first waterline that we showed in the beginning of the year was for the first buff.
00:12:21 So, yes, obviously, we will have a waterline for the second half of 2025, which you can probably expect, well, I would argue, still during summer. But, you know... When does summer end? Exactly, right? I mean, because given right now in Prague, it was 34 degrees when we tried to go for lunch. It was unpleasant.
00:12:49 What do we think of the Halifax stream? I have commiserations for whoever had to figure out all the tech stuff to make the computers work on the deck of a warship. That is true, that is true. I don't think there's just an Ethernet port you can plug into on a Canadian frigate. Like, I know that there might have been some technical issues, especially in the beginning of the stream, so it was like, I think, 20, 15 minutes delayed. But other than that, I think it was a great opportunity and a really nice to realize stream with...
00:13:17 A lot of really cool guests. Yes. Like a great opportunity. Royal Canadian Navy Day. Yeah, they're the commander of the Royal Canadian Navy. Exactly. Not something that you get every day live on a stream. No. But we have a different ship to talk about, which is the one that I am playing, Willem de Jarsta. Tell me about this one bit. So she shares the same basic form with Duncan and Scarlet Thunder. So it's a historical design.
00:13:44 Es ist das eine G-3? Ja. Wow, ich weiß nicht, wie ich das. Aber ich bin. Die G-3s waren was die Royal Navy, die nach World War I haben, wenn all die Treties nicht gekommen sind, um zu verhindern, wie groß die Schöne sind. Wilhelm ist das BASIC Form.
00:14:03 given a sort of 1930s, 40s level rebuild and provided to the Dutch. Because if such a ship like a G3 was built by the Royal Navy, by the time the 1940s come around, we would have built something bigger, more powerful and such. And so providing a ship like that to our allies is something Britain would do, especially in the case of the Dutch in World War II, who were both provided with ships unilaterally and also just outright purchased several warships from the British.
00:14:33 The main difference is that she doesn't have torpedoes, but you get improved armor plating, so she's tankier in that regard. But she also has this fancy touch thing, right? Yeah. Which I think is the strongest airdrop that we have right now in the game. Longest range, whether you want to call it the strongest is harder to say. It also has a very nice penetration, right? Yes, the guns are very good.
00:15:02 Well, I don't mean the guns, right? The bombs. Both. Both are good. Any chances Hyder will come back for purchase. You live 45 minutes from it in real life and your heart needs it in game. Don't think we have any plans soon for her to return, but that may change. But yeah, so helium bombs because they float. I don't think you can make a weapon out of helium.
00:15:39 Will there be submarines in the operations? There's subs in asymmetric right now. I don't have anything to say about if subs will be added to the regular operations right now.
00:15:55 So, Ben, how are you liking The Irresistible? Uh, I mean, I like these kinds of ships. Like, I like the sort of more unusual battleships. Even though I am quite... Even though in the team I'm probably the most... I'm the battleship purist. Like, I like this. I like this ship. I find it kind of funny. It is, however... You find it kind of funny? I mean, it's one of those things where it's like... You're used to playing battleships. You're used to seeing, like, big...
00:16:23 Volley strikes and doing a lot of damage. And you play this and you see a broadside cruiser. You're like, oh, I'm going to nail him. It's like, no, wait, I've got cruiser guns. I'll hurt him. But unless I'm at knife fighting range, I'm not really going to be doing game ending damage to someone with this. Those are Goliath guns, aren't they? Yeah, so Goliath, Monmouth and Gibraltar all share the same basic gun.
00:16:52 So the AP is good, the HE is good. But Monmouth and Gibraltar don't have HE, right? Exactly, yeah. But the guns themselves are the same as you'd see on Monmouth, but with regular HE, regular AP. It's not like we could have given this thing Goliath HE and Monmouth AP, and then that would have been a very weird ship to play. Irresistible needs a counterpart unmovable.
00:17:20 Oh, ho, ho, ho, ho. I mean, Irresistible is a Royal Navy name that's been used a couple times. It's... Sounds like something you guys would put on a ship. It's just like Irresistible. And call it a day. Like Irresistible, Invincible, Indefatigable, Implacable, Illustrious. Which one are you waiting for now? Of them, probably Illustrious. Illustrious, okay. But she's a carrier. Right.
00:17:48 Her or Formidable. Okay. I mean, like, as a rule, if you see, like, an over-the-top, like, evocative name, it's probably British. If it's named after a person, it's probably American. Oh, too many choices. Target suddenly appearing. Ooh, this could hurt. He's 100% top, then I'm going to eat it for that.
00:18:17 I completely missed him. Yep, there's the Torps. Mmm, not good. Are you going... I might... Yeah, that's me. That's not ideal because I'm also going down. Are you dying as well? Well, maybe, but you need to... I know which one it is because I'm on the different stream deck. There you go. HMS Impronounceable. I pronounced it.
00:18:46 I think it's unpronounceable, right? Yeah, I think I'm down for it. Why aren't WoW staff members captains? That would honor their work and effort. I am in game. Yeah, Killer Bin is in the game and not under his own name, right? What are you? Montgomery Cavendish Wellington. Yeah, that is actually...
00:19:15 Precious. Try Williams, great AP next time. The AP is good. Look, I was trying AP, but during one of the last salvos I was actually targeting DD, so I switched to HE. Yes, so the Battle of Paso de Patria containers have backed. You can buy the premium ones for doubloons or the regular ones for coal, so if you didn't complete the collection to get Lisboa, the Pan-American Legendary Commander, you now can.
00:19:45 Will we also find the containers from the Moments of Glory collection again in the future? Those who have not yet completed the collection hope so. I need to remember which collection that is. Moments of Glory. Or you can check in the game. Yes, I will.
00:20:03 Okay, so how are we looking with the run of the stream, Mr. Bin? What's next for us? So, maybe just double checking on the times, are we good? So, yep, we should be able to go over to the interview in a quick moment. But in the meantime, I don't want to leave the division, we will play another game while everything is set up in the background. So, what was it called? The Moments of Glory.
00:20:33 We need a search function. Which one is it? Can anyone remember what the symbol is? Surely it's the one that you just missed. No, because this is the finest hour one. Yes, I'm aware that the United States stockpiles helium. A lot of countries have a strategic reserve of helium. It's a very useful element. It's used in a lot of imaging technologies, like MRIs and stuff.
00:21:04 We have a lot of collections.
00:21:15 37 Korra Collections currently, says El Fructini. And there's more on the way. I can't remember which one that is, so I will have to double check and find that out. Alright, so you wanted another battle. Yes. So what is only reasonable is that we actually switch the ships. Yes. We'll grab the duchy. And I can only assume that Seraphis is somewhere in the chat cringing violently over our attempted pronunciations.
00:21:44 He's just Seraphis. Yeah, he deserves it. Would a ship like Samuel B. Roberts, hang on, would be a doable addition to the game? Being a destroyer escort, I would assume, makes it a bit of a challenge. So yeah, ships like her, their history is fascinating and it should be remembered for its valiant efforts, but they don't really quite fit.
00:22:11 in the game, because they're slower than most destroyers, they've got less firepower, they do have torpedoes, but it's not that many. But their AA is pretty good, so it'd be like...
Ja.
00:22:57 That being said, I see that you guys have some suggestions regarding, for example, the UI of the collections. And I think that the perfect place to leave your feedback, especially I have something specific to say about it, is to go to our Discord server. So please drop in the link, Mr. Bin. Thank you. And there's the feedback space where you can leave all the detail and it's so much more...
Fatboy Slim. Yes, we are running a giveaway. However, we are aware that there are some unsavory elements claiming to be us. So, if you think you have won the competition, please contact one of the community managers directly, so we can ensure that it is legitimate and no one is attempting to steal your information.
00:24:03 Right. Whenever someone reports to us that there's a giveaway running that, you know, looks fishy, 99% of the cases it's not actually us. Yeah. It's not something that we can, well, actively stop because that's just how these platforms like Facebook, Instagram or whatever works. But what we can do is...
00:24:30 to actually contact these platforms and actually ask these platforms to remove those. So that is what we always do whenever we get reports like that. Yes, and someone was asking about GQ Johnny. The event where you'll be able to attain her starts in 14.7. The information is present in this update's notes if you go down to the Armory section.
00:24:59 Can I try and... Do I try and drop a shimmer with these airstrikes? If he doesn't die, I'm going to hit him. No, the shaman killed him, but I was going to hit him. Dammit. Oh, no.
00:25:26 Um, I'm afraid jokes is, if Twitch is putting ads on it, that's Twitch, that's not us.
00:25:36 Well, Camus says that he won something from our official profile, and if he got it, then it was indeed us. And from time to time, we do run giveaways or contests on Facebook, Instagram, etc., etc. He's the one who contacted me, so I'm just double-checking with our social media colleagues, make sure everything is correct. Perfect. And if everything is all good, then he will get his reward.
00:26:02 So, now that you're playing Willem, any thoughts of which one you like more?
00:26:09 More data required. Oh, come on. I'm sure you have some first initial thoughts. Which one of... Okay, let's say... Let's not go better or worse. Let's say which one suits you more. Probably Will Elm, because it's a more conventional battleship, but I think I like Irresistible more because she's unconventional. Okay. Okay, that makes sense. Yes.
00:26:40 We used to get collection pieces in Daily Container, but it hasn't been the case with any other new collection in the last few years. I mean, that is the case. It doesn't mean that when something was like that in the past that it will not change in the future.
Ja.
00:27:37 You were saving your steel and RB for Holland and Barbiano, but now wondering about getting these two battleships. Well, that's the thing. They're steel and research bureaus, so it's not like they're going to disappear very soon. They'll be around a while, so you've got plenty of time to decide.
00:27:54 From, like, watching us play, seeing how they perform in battle, watching CTs and stuff make their own reviews about it, and then you can make the choice. Usually we get the opposite feedback. Why not more research build-field ships? Okay, okay. That worked. How many seradales was that? Three. Good AP. Nice, nice. And now I've got the damage bonus. Very impressive. I think she gives about 6,000 doubloon compensation, if I remember correctly.
00:28:23 It's been a while since I completed that collection. The Pan-American Commander for Libertad or Los Andes, which one is better? Well, that depends, isn't it? Are you playing more Tier X or more Tier IX?
00:28:48 That guy thought he was in a St. Vincent. Yeah, like 5-6k MP probably is about that. What happens to camos on the new trade-in ships? Do they go into a pool for the player to reissue or are they gone for good? So if you have a different extra camo for a ship that you trade in, the camo should basically just stay in your inventory. So if you get that ship back again, you should have access to the camo.
00:29:16 I don't have anything on whether or not the Dutch Heavy Cruisers will get air-launched ASW, but I think you can probably expect the King of the Sea camo to return at some point like the other ones have.
00:29:46 Yes. When will we get New Jersey? But Chat, like, you complain when we make clone ships. New Jersey would just be cloned Wisconsin, would she not?
00:29:59 I will fight this hill as well. I'm sorry, what? You know how players complain that we have too many copy-pay ships? Well, what I can say is that... New Jersey is Iowa. Of course it is. But I'm sure that sooner or later we will get her. I'm sure we will. It would be bizarre if we didn't. Exactly. Hello, hello. Yeah.
00:30:26 Uh, I don't have any news about any new ships coming for coal. Those will be announced in the usual realms. People keep begging for all the Fletchers. We've got like 160 more to go. Will the summers be part of the rotation? I don't know, maybe.
00:31:02 I mean, Tribals, we've got Eskimo, Cossack, Haider, and Huron. So we've got four Eskimos of like 16 built, I think. Yeah, it's like we've got the German Fletchers, the Japanese Fletchers, the Mexican Fletchers, the Italian Fletchers, the Brazilian Fletchers. I wish we would have a Polish Fletcher. Unfortunately, you didn't get a Fletcher. You don't say.
00:31:32 So, um, like, again, it's a question of time. Like, the longer the game is running, the more ships like this you will see.
00:31:50 Where is the German Fletcher? I don't know. Wait, was there a German Fletcher? There were six German Fletchers. Z1 through Z6, which makes it even more confusing. Well, I mean, the Germans had enough of their destroyers to put in the game or concept destroyers, right? Oh, absolutely. But it's the fact that Z1 is like six different ships.
00:32:15 When are we getting Carl Dorman? Well, I don't think we have any plans right now for the Dutch Carriers. But, as several eagle-eyed viewers did notice, that Conrad is set up. So, if we ever do get around to adding a Dutch Carrier, he's ready to go for them.
00:32:36 Uh, yes, Cambo, I believe. Yes. Yes, yes, yes, yes. Everything on your end was fine. I blacked my headphones the wrong way. I mean, sure, like, with a ship like Fletcher, we could always apply, like, the national flavours to it. So German Fletcher might have, like, improved HE pen and hydro. The Italian one might have sap.
00:33:21 Will we get googly eyes for ship graffiti options? I mean, now with the decal system that we're working on, it could definitely be something that the team could put together. We would plaster all of Blood Minister's ships with them. And you know what I'll do to you if you ever do that? The chairman is not happy. No, no, no.
00:33:47 I think we're still getting rid of all the googly eyes that Panzer once left in our office. Yeah, there are still a couple around. Yes, it's in our development blogs from a couple weeks ago. We are working on a decal system with both 2D and 3D elements.
00:34:13 Es ist jetzt noch ein Test, so... Oh, nice one. Ja, you know. Ja.
00:34:22 Can you play the Incheon today? If we will have the time and the opportunity and we will not forget, then we will play her for sure. I mean Pro-Ion, so Sezoya, brand new model. Royal Sovereign and Arkengals, brand new models. Barfleur is a new model. The new German Cruisers are new models. Two of the new US Destroyers are new models. The team is working on new models and sister ships.
00:34:48 I'm sorry that the US made a lot of Fletchers. I'm sorry that the Royal Navy built a lot of Crown Colonies. That's just the reality of the situation. When will we get Prince of Wales? I'm working on it.
00:35:07 When the modelling team stops blocking my emails. When Prince of Wales, please, I need it. At this point, I would already block you. Please. I want the POW. How wow. I mean, the last Fletcher decommissioned was Mexican in like 2004. That is impressive. Yeah.
00:35:38 Napoli is indeed a fine ship. Can I bomb him or is he going to run away? What about Barham? Barham is an interesting one. It's like, do you do Barham or do you do Malaya?
00:35:56 Both have, Barham is famous for the wrong reason, arguably. Which is? She was part of a formation that was attacked by U-boats in the Mediterranean and her capsize and magazine detonation was caught on film. And she capsized and you see a bunch of her crew on her belly as her magazines explode.
00:36:19 um, sie war also, oh, nice, sie war also die cause für die letzte ever conviction of witchcraft in british history. So, sie hat eine interessante Geschichte.
00:36:44 This great AP pen isn't so great when I'm trying to fight a small N's because I just go clean through it. Double strike on stream by me. Does not happen every day. Remember the date. USMC, we have a revenge class coming. Royal Sovereign in both her Royal Navy form and in her Soviet form as Arkhangelsk are coming to the game. Exactly, long time requested, right? So we're getting an R-Class. Rejoice.
00:37:14 Is Passo de Patria box out yet? Yes, it is. As of today. Yeah, doubloons or coal. Exactly. Okay, so we'll now just get everything ready for the interview. So enjoy the trailer and then we'll be right back with one of the co-founders of Force Blue.
00:37:37 Since its inception in 2016, Force Blue, the only non-profit organization in the world that retrains and redeploys Special Operations Veterans and military trained combat divers to work alongside scientists on marine conservation missions, has been involved in efforts to preserve and restore coral reefs throughout the U.S. and the Caribbean.
00:38:02 Forced Blue veterans have taken part in the outplanting of corals to rebuild degraded reefs. They have helped repair damaged reefs in the aftermath of hurricanes and have intervened to stop the spread of deadly coral diseases. And now we are proud to announce Forced Blue will soon be expanding its reach internationally, sending teams to Okinawa and Indonesia this summer to engage in coral reef restoration missions.
00:38:30 This expansion comes at a critical time. Coral reefs, which are home to a quarter of the planet's marine life, provide livelihoods for millions of people across the globe and are essential in protecting coastal communities from storms and erosions or facing unprecedented threats. Rising water temperatures, CO2 levels, pollution and overfishing have all played a role in our rapidly accelerating coral decline. In the last 15 years alone,
00:38:58 Scientists estimate more than 14% of the world's corals have vanished. Forest Blue extends its heartfelt thanks to all those who have supported us in the past and to those who continue to support our ongoing efforts to stem this tide.
Interview mit Jim Ritterhoff von Force Blue über Korallenriffschutz und Veteranenarbeit
00:39:2900:39:29 Well, welcome back, everyone. We're joined by Jim Ritterhoff, co-founder and executive director for Force Blue. So I guess we'll just go straight into it, Scott. So you guys obviously do a lot of diving, coral reefs, and you've helped us to put together the Frog Fathers documentary about the underwater demolition teams who, I guess, in a way, are your exact opposites. You build the reefs, they blew holes in them.
00:39:58 You know, that's interesting. We've talked about that. You know, we have a number of Navy SEALs who are veterans that are part of our organization. And it's pretty interesting. You know, I'm here in Florida right now. And a lot of the training they did, both for the European Theater and D-Day and also the Pacific, was conducted just up the road in Fort Pierce. And to 80 years later, be doing...
00:41:19 I've always been, you know, just growing up that way, I've always been, you know, the military has been very near and dear to my heart. I actually had a career along, you know, pretty successful career in advertising and communications and production. But I had a dear friend who was a recon Marine veteran, a gentleman named Rudy Reyes, who had served, you know, multiple combat tours in Iraq and Afghanistan.
00:41:45 und was in real trouble in his transition to civilian life. You know, a lot of substance abuse and whatnot. It's kind of a typical pattern that unfortunately too many veterans fall into. I've been a scuba diver my whole life. I've been involved in marine conservation sort of tangentially. And I took him diving with me. And, you know, he said after a few days we went down to the Cayman Islands where our third co-founder actually had a dive resort.
00:42:14 And we spent a week together just diving. And after a few days, he just was a different person. And he said, you know, all of my diving as a combat diver, as a Marine Corps diver, had been at night on a tack board, going to places where I wasn't wanted. And, you know, he had never seen, for instance, a fish underwater. And all of a sudden he's diving on coral reefs and the beauty of the underwater world. And it just was very healing for him. And that...
00:42:42 Not long after was when we decided, man, what if we could create an organization that would not just help the marine scientific community by giving them these incredibly skilled underwater operators, but even more importantly, help the veterans who, when they transition out, are sometimes just looking for a purpose and an ability to continue to serve, you know, something greater than themselves. So that was really the onus behind Force Blue. That was nine years ago.
00:43:10 I came home personally. I told my wife, this is what I want to do with the rest of my life. So I quit my job, sold the agency and started a nonprofit with really no experience in how to do that. But as I said, it was nine years ago and we've been operational ever since. And it's been...
00:43:59 especially the special operations community, right? And they've been used to operating at such an insane tempo. And, you know, their skills are not immediately transferable to the civilian world. So what do I do with all this, you know, this talent and training? And unfortunately for too many, a cubicle or going to work at some corporation is not the answer, right? It's, again, being with like-minded individuals, driving toward...
00:44:28 um mission success really um it fulfills them and and that's what i think has been our secret you know so uh we're giving them back we you know people often want to say oh you take veteran scuba diving we're like no they're already you know the government has made sure these guys are the the best underwater operators in the world we're just giving them back a mission whether that's rebuilding coral reefs or hauling up marine debris or you know
00:44:54 Monitoring sea life like turtles and dolphins. I mean, our mission set is as wide as the ocean. So wherever there's a need, we can deploy men and women to help meet it. So after being set up nine years ago and such, what would you call the first official Force Blue dive? Yeah, it's interesting. We did a first training because on paper it sounded good. Seals and scientists sounded very interesting, but it's not...
00:45:22 Automatically a sure fit that that's going to work. You've got people from very different backgrounds. They're going to have to come together to do this thing. So we did a trial training back in 2017, 2016, I'm sorry. And it worked. So we knew it worked and we were very fortunate because one of the instructors was a head of the coral reef conservation program for our...
00:45:48 National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration, NOAA, hier in the States. And they saw the potential immediately. So shortly thereafter, there was a really particularly bad hurricane season down here in Florida. And we were tasked with helping to repair some of the coral that had been damaged by a hurricane. And again, our guys just over-delivered. And the next thing you know, they're like, well, now could you go to Puerto Rico and do the same thing for three months? And we did that.
Weil, you know, you have to have the bona fides. You have to kind of prove yourself when duty calls. Und we did. So, so the first Reef, I guess the trial run was Florida. And then the first official is Puerto Rico. Yeah, that would be the, yeah, that would be the chronology. Okay. So, I guess sort of.
00:46:43 On the flip side, we've got the natural reefs that you guys do a lot of work with. So I guess it's... What are your thoughts on when we make our own reefs? Like with... I'm going to butcher her name. Oriskany, the carrier that's also down in Florida. Does she help being there? Or is it more a novelty diving thing? I think it's a mixed bag, to be honest with you. I think when done properly, artificial reefs are just wonderful.
00:47:12 Because they bring in the marine life that calls coral reefs home. And people aren't aware of this. We were kind of shocked when we heard it when we were first starting Forest Blue. But coral reefs represent 1% of the ocean. 1% of the ocean floor is coral reefs. Yet they're responsible for something like 30% of all marine life in the ocean because it's where they...
00:47:37 You know, it's where they spawn. It's where marine life grows up. And then there are, of course, just a lot of creatures who call it home. So putting in artificial reefs at a time when our natural reefs are being severely degraded is incredibly helpful to a point. You know, it has to be done responsibly. Materials have to be considered that are being used. There's a lot of, you know, there's a lot of science that goes into artificial reef placement. But, you know, I think we've done it.
00:48:29 Schicks are getting turned into reefs. I know the SS United States, it's one of the things that's being considered for her fate. And once it slips under the waves, most people forget about them. And it becomes a local novelty or a diving attraction. So the fact that when it's done properly, it can benefit massively the local wildlife and even people who live near to the shawls because they often act as wave breaks. Sure, yeah. I mean, you look at a place like Flau...
00:48:57 So much in Florida Keys, so much of the economy is generated around the reef structure, whether it's fishing, sport fishing, seafood restaurants, and just tourism attractions. They're beautiful. They're beautiful things to snorkel and dive. So if we can, whether it's through outplanting and restoration like we did, what we're doing this week with natural coral fragments.
00:49:45 They're very important for a lot of reasons. So I guess now that you and your team have established themselves, is there anywhere in the world you'd like to dive that you haven't had the chance yet? Well, you know, it's funny you should ask because we're getting ready. We talked briefly at the outset about Frog Fathers, the film we made in Normandy last year. We're actually gearing up here in about two weeks to go to Okinawa.
00:50:11 ...to make a second documentary called Frog Fathers 2, Last Battle of the Pacific. And it's really interesting because we're actually going to be rebuilding a stretch of coral reef that 80 years ago the UDT teams blew up.
00:50:57 in World War II. And this happens to be the 80th anniversary of the battle. So we're super excited. I've never been to Okinawa. A lot of our guys have. Some have been stationed there. And everybody just raves about not just the reefs, but the water and the island itself, frankly. So I'm super excited. Well, then we wish you all the best of luck and hope the weather is good for you guys. I guess...
00:51:22 On a more personal level, like with all your experience in diving, what was your favourite dive? Wow. Any that stick in your mind where, I don't know, it was extremely beautiful? Or did something go wrong that sort of sticks with you? Yeah, you know, the things that have gone wrong are, you know, myriad and they're not really, you know, what I tend to focus on. You know, all of our Force Blue Dives are really special to me, again, just because for me...
00:52:19 at about 100 feet and ended in a shallow lagoon about 10 feet. So it was a natural decompression. But the amazing thing about it is twice a day when the tides change, all the big pelagics like the silver tip, black tip, white tip sharks come in and just stack up hundreds and hundreds of them. And you're literally drift diving right through them. And the current is actually so strong that if you turn your head,
00:52:48 So you're just, you're literally flying among sharks and big pelagics. And it's just, it's never left me as like the most impressive dive I've ever done. That would be as terrifying as it would be beautiful. I don't, like, I think I'd freak out if I saw one shark, let alone hundreds. Well, you know, I had a dive instructor a long time ago who told me, you know,
00:53:15 Think of sharks the way you think of big dogs, right? Their instinct is not to hurt you, and if they seem aggressive, you probably don't want to go pet them, but if they're just hanging out doing their thing, they're just like dogs, you know? Yeah, I think sharks get a bad rap. No, Jules did them a lot of damage. Yeah, sure did, unfortunately.
00:53:39 Es encouraged a lot of people to want to maybe explore the ocean, but it also probably frightened a whole generation off. I guess taking a couple questions from our chat, is there anything unusual or rare creatures that you've seen? You know, we were just talking to one of our guys, oddly enough, who was just down here with us this week, who had just come back from Antarctica. I've never personally seen this, but he actually dove Antarctica.
00:54:07 And he was talking about actually seeing leopard seals swimming with them. And that, now that's a creature that terrifies me underwater. Never seen one, but they're very aggressive. And, you know, that was pretty interesting. And he also talked about, another guy actually talked about just coming back from Australia where he'd done a little bit of diving. Because all of our guys are not hooked. And even when they're not diving with Force Blue, they're still out there diving.
Ja. Ja. Ja. Die Jellyfish, die Blue Rings und alles. Ja.
00:55:01 So, but you know, it's lovely. I'm a sucker for seahorses. I have a seahorse tattoo on my arm. So whenever I can find a seahorse underwater, it's always very meaningful to me. They're just super cool and hard to find. So if you find them, it's a good day. Nice. So Jim, one of the first things that our viewers noticed when we...
00:55:52 I'm actually sitting at a resort called the Ragged Edge, which anybody who's thinking of coming to Florida, the Florida Keys here in Isla Morata, Florida, I strongly recommend. It's a beautiful place. They've been nothing but wonderful to us. We have a pretty big crew, some camera teams with us as well, and they've just been brilliant. But I wish you guys, I honestly wish, as I told you before we got on, that...
00:56:18 It had been yesterday or the day before because it was beautiful sunshine. Today it rained this morning, so not as beautiful, but it's still pretty special. Yeah. And it's something that you don't really think about in a day-to-day, even if you're someone who lives near the coast, who even knows the corals are there. It becomes very clear very quickly when they are struggling. Yeah. But it's difficult to sort of...
00:57:43 and sequester as much carbon as our coral reefs do and when you understand that you start to go wow these things are important uh not just for the creatures because we all love to see healthy you know fish populations and turtles and you know all the creatures on the reef but because they literally make life you know 500 miles from here 200 you know 2 000 miles from here possible because um of what they do to help you know help help just
00:58:12 our ability to breathe frankly so uh they're very special things and and we need to you know we're out to do a lot of what we do because we are an interesting voice people aren't used to hearing green berets and recon marines and navy seals air force power rescuemen talk about um marine conservation right so we exactly that it's not a group you would expect to talk about these sorts of topics yeah so in a in a very
00:58:41 Partisan political environment like here in the states and around the world honestly People who won't listen to another scientist talk about climate change or what's happening to our oceans Well when a Green Beret says it or a British SAS You know member says it who we have we have a few British guys as well Suddenly they listen because you know these guys are their heroes or for another you know for for uh for other reasons they connect with them and
Ja. So, eigentlich, because you mentioned the coral, right? And one of our viewers is asking, I wonder if there was this coral sickness that goes around the world. How's that, where you guys are right now? And overall, how's the situation at the moment?
00:59:34 That's a great question. Actually, about three years ago, there was a terrible disease, coral disease, called Stony Coral Tissue Loss Disease. Long name, but the outbreak was traced back to Miami, which is about 90 miles north of here. And it spread like wildfire. Literally, for people who aren't used to the water understanding, I equate it to like a wildfire.
01:00:02 right it just ravaged and it wasn't you know so much like the little corals the branching corals it was the big boulder corals uh that are the foundation of the reef like brain coral and that were susceptible to it and it had like a incredibly fast and and high percentage mortality so a piece of coral would be and you know
01:00:30 Four weeks later, the whole entire giant coral would be dead. And we were tasked with kind of almost like smoke jumping in ahead of it and applying some treatments to try to stop the spread with limited success because, you know, these things are tenacious, these diseases. But it's sad. I mean, you see what was healthy coral and then, you know, a disease will come through and just decimate it.
01:01:24 Especially when you go from something as vibrant and as colourful as a coral reef, for it to be bleached and dead, it would be very demoralising to anyone. Yeah, it's sad. It is. We dive with scientists who cry in their scuba masks, literally. I mean, literally. And when we go down on a dive and we see an area that's been decimated, it can't help but motivate you to want to help them.
01:01:53 Have any of you or your team ever dived the cold water reefs up around Norway and such? No, we haven't really gone. I mean, I'm super excited about the Okinawa trip. We're going to be going to Indonesia later this year to do some coral restoration. But since our inception, we've largely been kind of continental United States and in the Caribbean. But we've done some cold water work here in our Great Lakes.
01:02:20 up in Michigan, up near Canada. The lakes have reefs? No, not reefs. We do more than, remember, reefs are something that we do and we love, but we also do, up there we happen to be doing, which may be interesting to your viewers, we did, there are an awful lot of shipwrecks in our Great Lakes because it was the center of commerce back in the 1800s and early 19th century steamships and whatnot. And we were helping the scientists up there sort of preserve.
01:02:48 und documentate, you know, hundreds of wrecks, of shipwrecks, um, that make it, you know, it's just a beautiful attraction for, and there are of course a lot of sport fishing up there as well. So that's, that's been our coldest, uh, our coldest water kind of, uh, experience right now. But I know some of our guys, particularly our seals have, have been up in Norway and have trained up there and, you know, they tell us stories about how wonderful it is.
01:03:13 We had a couple of questions. When you're in the Florida area, obviously lionfish as an invasive species are. Do your guys, when you're like, is it a case of putting the coral and then go after the lionfish if they can see them? Well, we actually run specific lionfish culling missions. That's another one of the things we do. Big surprise that a lot of special operations veterans would really enjoy.
01:03:41 Das ist ein Problem. Sie sind ein Problem. Sie sind ein Problem. Sie sind ein Problem. Sie sind ein Problem. Sie sind ein Problem. Sie sind ein Problem. Sie sind ein Problem. Sie sind ein Problem.
01:04:09 And they're also delicious, which we know, right? Very convenient. Yeah, that's the best part is you go call some lionfish and then you have ceviche on the boat heading back in. So it's a problem, but it's also a very popular activity for us is going after lionfish. Cool, cool. I guess, Chad, if you've got any questions, throw them our way.
01:04:36 But other than that, I guess it's more, now that you guys are doing a lot of work in the continental US, the Caribbean and such, is there any areas that you don't like going to? Is there a particularly rough reef, as it were? Honestly, because again, it's trying to make a positive change, applying the skill set that our team members have.
01:05:05 We've done some very unglamorous things. Earlier this year for our Super Bowl, the NFL, which was in New Orleans, the NFL asked us to do an oyster reef installation around Louisiana because there's just been such significant land loss down there. We planted 58 tons of oyster shells to create a barrier for the coastline. We were operating in
01:05:34 5 inches, 2-3 feet of mud. And it wasn't pleasant, but we did it. And everybody loved it because it was, again, you can see the result, you're doing something good. So there's really no job too dirty. I would guess for your members, being in mud is probably quite pleasant compared to some of their past experiences. Yeah, you hear their stories and...
01:06:02 You understand there's nothing we're going to ask them to do that rivals what they've already done. Absolutely. Well, I think we're coming up on time. So, Jim, again, enjoy the lovely weather you've got over there. We're all very jealous. Thank you for taking the time to talk with us tonight, as well as we wish you and the guys best of luck on Okinawa and all of that. Thank you very much, Jim. Yeah, thank you, guys. It's a real pleasure. You know, I love talking about what we do. So thank you for inviting me to share with your audience.
01:06:31 Thank you very much, sir. Thank you. Take care. Bye-bye.
01:07:01 Force Blue veterans have taken part in the outplanting of corals to rebuild degraded reefs. They have helped repair damaged reefs in the aftermath of hurricanes and have intervened to stop the spread of deadly coral diseases. Now we are proud to announce Force Blue will soon be expanding its reach internationally, sending teams to Okinawa and Indonesia this summer to engage in coral reef restoration missions.
01:07:28 This expansion comes at a critical time. Coral reefs, which are home to a quarter of the planet's million life, provide livelihoods for millions of people across the globe and are essential in protecting coastal communities from storms and erosions are facing unprecedented threats. Rising water temperatures, CO2 levels, pollution and overfishing have all played a role in our rapidly accelerating coral decline. In the last 15 years alone,
01:07:57 Scientists estimate more than 14% of the world's quarrels have vanished. Force Blue extends its heartfelt thanks to all those who have supported us in the past and to those who continue to support our ongoing efforts to stem this tide.
01:08:27 And it's just us again. I hope you enjoyed our chat with Jim and all the work that he and Force Blue do soon all around the world. You know what, I'm actually amazed. I did not know a lot about Force Blue. I mean, I knew that we are working with them and this is all a part of the Ocean Month slash day, right? But hearing it all directly from Jim, amazing stuff. Yeah, using it as a method to help veterans is always something that should be applauded.
01:08:56 But that is not all. No, exactly, yes. They do a lot of very good work that a lot of people benefit from. Onto some of a different topic chat. Could someone give me a day in the year? A day in the year. A day in the year, just the days. A number of the day in a month, right? Yes, please. Let's see the first proposal.
01:09:20 September 15th. September 15th, okay. Okay, okay, that's all, that's all, September 15th. It was the dawn of the era of mechanized transport, so perhaps, appropriately, it did not go entirely to plan. Today, in 1830, a railway running from Liverpool and Manchester formally opened. It was the first fully locomotive pulled railway to connect two cities.
01:09:43 It was a massive event, the Prime Minister, the Duke of Wellington took his place on one of eight special trains to set out from Liverpool. Crowds lined the track, gathered in Manchester where the trains were expected to arrive. Naturally, because it's Britain, there were delays.
01:09:56 While Wellington felt...
01:10:24 The remaining events should be cancelled and a return made to Liverpool. By now crowds in Manchester were becoming drunken and unruly, and he was persuaded to continue. By the time he arrived, any atmosphere of celebration had turned to hostility. Far from cheering and waving flags, the crowd threw vegetables at the Duke. He refused to disembark, returning instead to the comfort of a stately home outside Liverpool, where he arrived over six hours late. For him personally, it had been a horror show. He did not travel by train again for over a decade.
01:10:52 Ben, hast du das gemacht? Es ist British Trains. British Trains. No. Apparently we're World of Trains right now. Exactly. So, where this is from is part of the giveaway that we'll be doing, the first giveaway, in fact, that we'll be doing on today's stream, which is the book.
01:11:13 On This Day in History by Dan Snow. Oh, and our cameras are doing very weird things with the book. Ooh, that is weird. That's right. Okay. It's like, it's cream, it's chrome. It's cream, it's chrome.
Dan Snow Book Giveaway
01:11:2801:11:28 Let's be fair, it's not like that in reality. It's just the cameras. Yes, and so this book, On This Day in History, as you can probably guess from what I just read, by Dan Snow, gives you a story from every day of the year, and we have 10 of these to give away, and they are also, hopefully it will show up on camera, signed personally by Dan Snow. Thank God his signature is in a different color. It at least still shows up.
01:11:56 The cameras are not configured for white or cream? I don't know. I would say some creamy whites. Forgive us if we don't know our colors very well. By sheer luck, we were able to talk about the first person to die in a railway accident. You think of old steam trains, how do you not hear one of them coming?
01:12:24 Yeah, but if you guys don't know Dan Snow, he's one of the authors behind History Hits. Yep, noted British historian. Exactly. An amazing, well, exactly, like a very, what should I say?
01:12:45 Well, he's very popular in YouTube. He's a well-rounded historian. Everywhere else. He's in documentaries and such. So, yeah. His father was also a noted historian as well. If you're British, you might have remembered some of the TV shows like 20th Century Battlefields, which talked about this kind of thing. Exactly. So, as we said, there'll be 10 of these to give away through a quiz.
01:13:13 So what will be the quiz? So it'll go through Nightbot in Twitch chat. There will be five questions that will appear and each question will have two winners that will be randomly selected of everyone who types in the correct answer. And if you are one of the winners, congratulations. El Fructini will contact you to get the necessary information so that we can ship these books to you.
01:13:39 All right, so Hugh, I was trying to describe who Dan Snow is, not exactly knowing how to put it, but Sarah can actually put it, I think, perfectly in the chat. Everyone who likes history knows Dan Snow. Yes. Thank you. Some of us are old enough to remember his dad as a newsreader. Yes, he was. He was a news presenter in the UK. Oh, okay. Yes. Crap, I should not have had beers this stream day.
01:14:05 True, you may never know when an unsuspecting victim may have a train randomly jump out at them. Yeah, so, um, right. If I win, can I get the steel camo book? No, I'm afraid. Like I said, like, look, there it works. Like, there, like, there is... Okay, move it a little bit. Yeah, yeah, there we have the steel camo. Normal, chrome.
01:14:28 We will also not give you 10,000 steel for this. No. As I thought, let me look at my birthday while we get everything ready.
01:14:42 Anything of interest happened on my birthday. Okay, Evan there with eight different... It was the death of King John. Okay. So, we're just getting everything ready on our end. So, the first question is, when was Force Blue founded? Drop your answers in the chat. He did say it.
01:15:11 Can you repeat the question? When was Force Blue founded? And we're looking for the year? Yep. So he didn't give the year, he gave how long ago it's been founded. Okay. So when my colleague gives me the thumbs up, we'll move on to the next question.
01:15:38 Looking at you, Ben, looking at Fructini to give you the thumbs up is kind of funny. I need like pigeon eyes so I can see both of you. You don't need to see me for that, you know? Yeah. Oh, I see someone saying 2006. Yep. But I am surprised by the split because not everyone is saying the same date.
01:16:11 It's over 9000 is also not the correct answer. No, that is true. I will tell you that already. You are in Prague and you don't get to see ACDC. Are ACDC in Prague today? I thought they were playing over the weekend. Huh. Well.
01:16:37 And we have a winner. Paul Baderschlappen. That is a very German nickname, I want to say. But congratulations. Are you there? Yes, there he is. Oh, there he is. All right. Okay, Paul, please whisper the World of Warships account. So, like, whisper this. Yeah, I don't think it's World of Wargaming. Yeah, World of Wargaming. It's been a long day. Congratulations, Paul. The book is not in German. No, it is in English. Yes.
01:17:07 So, four more questions, correct? Yeah, we need a second winner for the first question. First, Doak1938. Okay, let's see if Doak is here with us. Are you there? And I see that Paul already whispered us. Yes, he is. I am in contact with him.
01:17:26 DOK, Doc, Doc, are you there? If not, we'll have to do a redraw, because we're going to do this pretty quickly. Yeah, there he is. Doc, please whisper. Send us a whisper. Yep, and while Doc's doing that, we will move on to the second question. Let's do that. Where was the first Force Blue dive?
01:17:49 Where was the first Blue Force dive? Yes. What are we looking for? Like a name for the location. Yes. DOK, you need to whisper us, please.
01:18:09 Do you think is the chat mostly giving us the correct? No. Most people are getting it wrong. Okay. Well, but are we looking for like the size of a state or something more specific? The answer is that more than enough people have given the correct answer. Okay. So once that gets drawn, we'll be good to go.
01:18:37 It's not Florida. Florida? DOK, you need to click on our username and whisper me. Okay, I think we're ready to draw in a moment.
01:19:03 Grand Seasoner, congratulations. Please let us know that you're here with us and send us a whisper.
01:19:18 He did confirm that he's there. And Gelcam, congratulations as well. Please whisper me. We will send you the information. We will send you a link to give us the information that we need. We need to click on our username and give us... There we go. There's Grand Seasoner. Still waiting on DOK and Gel.
01:19:38 Ja, left-click on the World of Warships text and choose the Whisper option. We got it from Grand Seasoner, we got it from Gelcam. We still did not get it from Doc from the first question. Okay, question three is... Let's give the people a second because we're still getting answers to the first question.
01:20:01 DOK, please whisper us. Okay, I think we can go to question number three. Okay, where will Force Blue work on a reef in 2005 in relation to Frog Fathers 2? Did you say 2005? 2025. Thank you. In 2005, I was nine. I don't want to think about that.
01:20:24 So, can you repeat the question? Where will False Blue work on a wreath in 2025 in relation to Frog Fathers 2? Thank you. You see, it wasn't only me. Someone set 2020? 2005? Close enough. Only 20 years out. Okay, I think this is a fairly easy one. Yep.
01:20:53 Someone is asking, did they go to Okinawa for a documentary? Yes, Okinawa has a lot of history. Yep. I'm sure you could go on and on about it. I could, but I'm not going to. We have other matters to attend to.
01:21:12 How much time will we give them? That entirely depends on the generosity. Oh, no, no, no. We already have a winner. Mr. Cozy. Cozy, our favorite restaurant. Do we have you with us? Are you there?
01:21:31 Cozy, are you there, sir? Yes, he is. Okay, please click on our name. Please whisper us, Cozy. Click on our name, left-click, and then we'll be good to go. We'll just send you the link. Oh, doc messages. Excellent. Perfect. It means we don't have to fight any of that. And we have Cozy with us as well. And the other winner for this giveaway is Mac8806. Yes.
01:22:00 Geek, the giveaway is for a signed copy of Dan Snow's book, On This Day in History. Not Chrome. Also not Steel Camel. Whisper and Fitpix. Please no. Please no. Just the Whisper. We need Mac, so Mac, if you could please whisper us. No, it's not a Chromebook.
01:22:31 Okay. That's a laptop. Yes. Well done. Yes. I guess we can move on to the fourth question. Who is the author of the book on this day in history? If you don't get this chat, I'm banning all of you. Please don't say John. There's Mac. Good.
01:22:59 I mean, you can just show that book to everyone. You really love the... It's a great effect. And I know you're going to ask Routini to try and figure out how we can make it not do this in the future. I mean, of course. Like, the green screen is configured for human colors. Not...
01:23:25 I am surprised because that is not such a weird colour. Yeah, this is true. If the cover would be green, I would completely understand this. If the cover had been green, do you have any idea how difficult it would have been to go thing, invisible? I mean, obviously, chat, you know, we have a green screen behind us. And we have the first winner, Dangerous Sharpie. Dangerous Sharpie, please whisper us. What is the original colour of the book? It's blue underneath the cover.
01:23:56 So, Dangerous Sharpie, please whisper us. And do we have another winner? He did a message us. There we go. I'm loving how smooth it's going. And we have Shik? Shai? Shai? Shai? Yeah, 0720. Are you there with us?
01:24:20 Are you here? And someone whispered us the answer even. Yeah, they did. But that's not what we want. That's not how it works. Well done, though. Shai, shih0720, are you alive? We might have to do a redraw. Let's give him a minute and see. Mm-hmm.
01:24:59 In the meantime, Ben, are all the information from the book British? No. Right? It was really luck. Yeah, I think that was pure luck that we had something that I was actually talking about. Okay, okay. Obviously, June 6th is D-Day. Right. No, 19th of April is about the American War of Independence. Okay, okay. Well...
01:25:25 Oh, and we have a Redraw. Dragonow. Dragonow 72. Are you here with us? There he is. So we're sure you will know how to whisper us. Please do that and we will send you the book. Okay, and then the last question of today for these book giveaways is going to sound like a trick question to everyone. I like trick questions. How many days does the book cover?
01:25:59 Everyone is now going, mm. Draganau, you need two whispers, please.
01:26:21 Just click on our name and send us the message. Ben, do you think anyone provided the correct answer so far? Oh, is it a leap year it was published? Oh, that'd be funny. That would be... No, this year isn't a leap year, so I think you're okay. Okay, we've got everyone so far. So obviously once... Yes.
01:26:51 Oh, and... I'm the big gib. I'm the big gib. Do we have as a I'm the big gib? Are you the big gib? Are you the gib? Or are you the big gib? I don't know. I'm... Here he is. He's here. He's here.
01:27:13 Gib, please whisper us. And then we also have the last winner. Which is? Kingernorth. Kingernorth. Congratulations. Yes, please. Oh, there he is, there he is. Excellent. So we need both of you to whisper us so we can provide you with the form you can submit to give us the information so we can ship you your copy, your signed copy of On This Day in History by Dan Snow.
01:27:43 So what was the correct answer? Because Thor Eldarion is asking. 365. Thank you. Thank you, Ben, for confirming the correct answer. Okay. There's King. We just need the other winner, Big Gib. Please whisper me. And I will at you directly so that you can find us. There you go, sir.
01:28:13 And while we just sort that out, we'll be moving on very swiftly to the next interview of the stream. I see a question from the chat. Is there a February 29th in the book? Yes. So it is a leap here.
01:28:37 But the pages aren't all for one day. Yes. So, Big Gib, we still need your whisper.
01:28:51 Please whisper. Doesn't that mean that the answer is 366? I am not the one who made the books. The pages end at 365. So I think there's a day that's missing. We shall see. Oh, that is actually a very interesting topic. Big Gib, please whisper us.
01:29:12 Ah, he messaged us. There we go, excellent. Thank you. You will be contacted when your prizes are sent out. That is true. The question is how many days does it cover, not if the 29th of February is there. So, we're now going to move on to the Fisher Space Pen and the people from Fisher who made it. And I believe also we have the option to give some of them away.
01:29:41 which we'll get to nearer the end of the stream. So, if you just give us a quick moment to get everything set up for us, we'll be right back.
Partnerschaft mit Fisher Space Pens
01:31:4201:31:42 Welcome back, everyone. We are joined by Mr. Eric Bond from Fisher Space Pens. Hello. I'm sure all of you have heard that famous myth and story about the Soviet pencil versus the multi-million dollar American pen. These are the guys who made those pens. But is the story actually correct? Because I don't think that's the case. It's actually really, really funny that you bring it up because...
01:32:09 The biggest thing is always discussed about the space race, right? So there was this space race between Russia and America and America invested all of this money, millions and millions of dollars to make a pen that could write in space. And what did Russia do? Oh, they just brought up a pencil, right? So go out there and keep it simple. But the myth around that story is obviously back in the 1960s, you know.
01:32:36 We didn't have computers and iPads and the technology to operate in space that we do today, so having a writing utensil or a writing instrument was extremely important. And if you think of a pencil in space, right, if we break that down for a second, it's actually a really hazardous thing because you're going to have to sharpen a pencil. When you write with the pencil, the graphite and the lead chips off and becomes hazardous. It can get in the astronaut's eyes. It's flammable.
01:33:05 So pencils actually, although they do work in space, are not what you want to have on a space mission. So both sides were actually looking for a writing instrument that would work in space, and Fisher Space Pens was able to create a sealed and pressurized ink cartridge that can not only write in space, but write on Earth as well.
01:33:27 Yeah, so, but again, like, because it's a lot safer and, like, graphite is flammable, it gets into, like, electronic components, it can spark, it can cause fires, and fire is the last thing anyone wants when you're in a tube full of compressed oxygen. Exactly, exactly. It works in space, but it's dangerous. So just use a space bag. Sorry, someone in our chat should have brought up an Etch-a-Sketch. Yeah, Etch-a-Sketch is, you know...
01:33:55 Although the training on that might have been a little bit more tedious. Yeah, so I guess we'll go straight into this. So I think we've kind of covered what makes the Space Pen unique. It's pressurized. It can work in space. It was developed at NASA's request and all of that. But what inspired you guys to work with us for World Ocean Month? Because you guys do a lot of work with sort of environmental...
World of Warships ist all über honoring naval history, innovation, strategy.
01:35:21 Showing how your tools, like our tools, are really built for exploration, longevity, and just the mindset that wraps around sustainability and responsibility for the planet. It really just kind of came naturally. And the sustainability around our pen is most of our pens are not only American-made, but most of them are all metal. So these are not...
01:35:45 One-use, single-use plastics that are going to be thrown back or end up in the ocean polluting the planet or creating a less sustainable environment. The pens are mostly metal and creating a more sustainable future for the planet. So hopefully that encapsulates World of Warships and World Ocean Month as well as why we value this partnership and really appreciate the platform to work with you guys. Yeah, I mean, it's one of those things, as you said,
01:36:13 It's important to make things that are built to last because too much of stuff we have today is just thrown away and disposable. And a lot of it does end up in the oceans where it can cause a lot of problems for us and all the wildlife that lives within it. I guess, have you guys ever seen how far deep your pens will work? Sort of the inverse? You know, we haven't gone as deep as we can because I don't think anyone's been to the bottom of the ocean yet.
01:36:42 But what we have done is we have tested it underwater. Navy, Marines, the military, and scuba divers all use our pen, not just because it can work in high-pressure conditions, but the ink inside the pen is thixotropic viscoelastic. So that sounds kind of crazy, but not to get too into detail, but it's a sealed and pressurized nitrogen ink cartridge.
01:37:32 So we haven't necessarily gone to the depths of the ocean, but we have tested our pens in an underwater high-pressure condition environment, and they definitely will still work.
01:37:44 Yes, is waterproof paper doesn't exist yet? There is paper that is water resistant. For instance, a lot of police officers will use our pens on like a rainy day because again, like if you have a normal pen and it's raining and the ink's going to smudge, it's going to smear. So that's also another relatively everyday carry use case. It's not just in space and underwater. The pens work everywhere.
01:38:10 And I guess, like, has there been perhaps a situation that you've been told about from someone who's used your pens that really showed their, like, resilience? Like, have they survived, like, fires or an explosion or something like that? Something that you wouldn't expect a pen to do. So I'll give you two examples, because these are the two that really kind of stand out to me the most. I'm also a video gamer, and there's a big show right now called Fallout that's being, you know, on Amazon.
01:38:38 The Season 2 is coming out in December. Big fan. I'm a huge fan. I played Fallout 4 for hours, right? Hours and hours and hours. And I don't even think I actually beat the game, but I definitely spent hundreds of hours in it. Nice. And one of the things that we were inspired to do was figure out how long our pen would last under radiation.
So natürlich, ich dachte, man, das ist ein cool Synergy mit Fallout, weil es all über Radiation, End of the World, you know, all of those tie-ins.
01:39:31 It will last, a pen floating in space will last more than 20,000 weeks, which is kind of a cool situation. The other one I'll bring up is, this is a really cool one. It was a Navy SEAL. And if anyone can help us find this gentleman, his name is Steve. I don't know anything else about him. Steve the SEAL. Steve the Navy SEAL. But he wrote a testimonial to our company about how our pen saved his life. So he was actually on a mission.
01:39:59 And our pen is used in a lot of military environments, A, because we have non-reflective pens, but B, because they're reliable, they're durable, they're consistent, they have a nearly 0% fail rating. So a lot of these guys that are in these high intensity environments will use our pen. And he had the pen actually clipped to his uniform. And I don't know if he or someone actually stepped on an IED and he woke up.
01:40:27 Five days later in the hospital and the doctor came in and said, you know, it's crazy because you would be dead right now if it weren't for this pen, because the shrapnel from the IED hit the pen instead of actually going into his heart and saved his life. So not necessarily a writing environment, but those are two really cool conditions where our pens have saved lives and will last the test of time.
01:40:54 So, when can we buy a flak vest made out of space pens? Right, we're working on that project. 2030, we'll come out with something.
Eigenschaften und Tests der Fisher Space Pens
01:41:0601:41:06 That's definitely not an endurance test, especially, you know, the radiation one that any of us expected to hear, I think. But can you tell us a little bit more about how the Space Pen connects with the teams of ocean exploration or maritime history a bit more? Because I'm sure that our viewers are somewhat interested in that and they might be even surprised. You know, we've already touched on those topics a little bit of...
01:41:34 Sustainability and protecting the oceans, right? But maybe there's a little bit more to it. Yeah, so I think, and I could be wrong here, but for me personally, I often link space with the ocean and the deep vastness in the marine environment and the unexplored.
01:41:59 So space and deep ocean is really kind of, in my brain, very similar environments and similar things when it comes to ocean exploration. So we've had, again, Navy SEALs, divers, offshore workers tell us that our pens are the only pens that will actually work in those wet and high-pressure environments or in those environments and conditions. And some of our designs even take cues from the ocean. So we actually have a chrome bullet.
01:42:27 Where if you actually look at the chrome bullet, it kind of looks like a submarine, which is really fun. And when I think about exploration, whether it's charting space or sea, there's always a shared kindred spirit there about needing the right gear at the right time, gear you can trust, gear that's reliable. And what is more special, in my opinion, than something that's going to be...
01:42:52 um never failing gear and a tool that you can write with when you need to so um i think the innovation there is not only will it work in space but as we explore more into space and more into the ocean i think our pen is going to be an intricate part of this exploration for time to come yeah of course and i guess as you said like as a big fan of fallout like is that the kind of
01:43:17 So playing Fallout led to you guys going like, huh, this is cool, I wonder if our pens work in these situations. I don't know if we could convince, I don't know, USS Kid is like, can we fire the pen out of a gun and see what happens? What's the penetration performance of a space pen?
01:43:34 Right, right. Well, hopefully that's not measured anytime soon. But one of the designs is, it's called the Chrome Bullet Pen because it looks like a bullet, but it also kind of looks like a submarine. But yeah, hopefully people aren't firing those out of cannons anytime soon. When there's a will, there's a way. Fair enough, fair enough. So are there any other sort of games that you enjoy? Or are you kind of a purist for like your Fallout and Elder Scrolls style? Or is there any other...
01:44:03 So I'm a 90s kid, which means late high school and college was basically the hype of Call of Duty, right? So all of that process, the Black Ops, everything, I spent tons of time into that. But as I got older, I really started moving more towards RPGs, role-playing games. I play a lot of tabletop games, trading card games, things like that. I love the strategic.
01:44:31 Um, I've actually played a little bit of World of Warships.
01:44:59 But with two kids at home and a full-time job, I have very limited time to dedicate to the hobby. So a lot of times I like to log in, get 15 minutes in, then log off. We do actually have a question from a person in chat. Would it work as a firefighter? How hot can you get the pen before? I assume it would rupture.
01:45:21 Yeah, so it's actually a really great question. The pen can last in negative 30 degrees Celsius and up to 250 degrees Fahrenheit. So yes, it can work for firefighters. We actually have a firefighter style pen. It's probably hard to see. So we actually have first responder pens.
01:45:46 This one is the white stripe for dispatch, but we also have one that's a black, matte black with a red stripe for firefighter support. And part of the proceeds for all of our first responder pens actually goes back to the branch. Oh, very good. I really did not expect you to have such a clear answer to this question. Yeah, well, that's the thing is we've tested the pen in so many environments.
01:46:11 It probably can get colder, but I don't know anyone that wants to be in that cold of weather or that hot of weather for so long. It has been tested. We do have players as far north as Alaska and such. I guess for them, a regular pen would just freeze up and it would be useless. Having a pen that is configured for very harsh environments is something that is genuinely useful for people in these sorts of situations.
01:46:37 Yeah, it's one of those things you don't really think about until you need to think about it, right? Exactly, yeah. It is one of those just facts of life. It's like you don't know until you try it. Right, right. Or, you know, next time you find yourself in a snowstorm, it's like, well, dang, I wish I had a pen that could write because my cell phone died and I need to leave a letter to somebody or something. And it's like, well, my, you know, plastic reusable one isn't writing because it's frozen.
01:47:06 So, get your space bed. Yes, no, exactly. But it is something that makes sense. You guys designed it for a very difficult environment that no one had really thought about before. Because I think how much of all the technology for the space program had to be invented for the space program. You had to invent things to invent other things. Exactly. It was kind of like a catch-off. We really invented the...
01:47:34 die Pressurized and Sealed Nitrogen ink cartridge for space, but it just so happened that it also worked in all these other environments when we continued to test it. Yeah, and it turns out actually we've got some people in chat who actually use the pens. We use the Space Pen in restaurants as well, especially in the freezer rooms. Yep. Again, it makes sense because it's going to be a lot colder than you would expect.
01:47:58 I'm actually going to make that note so that I can start calling restaurants and starting to, hey, you guys got a freezer room. It's just one of those things where you don't think about it until someone tries it out. We also had some questions about how easy are they to recharge? I'm assuming it's unscrewed, new cartridge in, good to go? Or is there a bit more involved? I got one right here. This is one of our Cerakote finishes. But literally, you twist it off.
01:48:27 You take out the ink cartridge, you put one in, you twist it back on. Nice. That's it. Because you think space pen, pressurized nitrogen, it's going to be like you're going to need a diver's license because it's a little compressed air tank, all that kind of stuff. But no, at the end of the day, it's a pen. Yeah, it's actually sealed off on the top.
01:48:54 So it's a completely sealed ink cartridge. So everything's done in here. So you don't need to put ink into it. You would just order a new one, which is only like eight bucks online. And then you would just pop it into your pen and you're good to go. Okay. We should get some for the office. Oh, that's for sure. We'll figure something out. Because unfortunately, we don't have any right now to show off on stream, but it would be one of those ones where it's like, I like this pen.
01:49:22 And then I probably become like Lord of the Rings. My precious space pen. I really like that. And one of the coolest things I think is like when you do buy a Fisher space pen, every time you have someone use it, you have a story to tell. Oh, yeah.
01:49:41 you can talk about what Fisher is or how it writes upside down or how it writes in freezing cold or you can bring up the space race and how pencils don't work in space or they do but so it's just really cool because it's a really good conversation starter it's just a cool piece to have in really anywhere so no yeah like again it's just one of the things that you don't really think about being super important just a pen that works anywhere that's reliable because
01:50:10 I think anyone who works in most jobs, the classic is like, do you have a pen? And everyone, even if you know you don't have a pen, you always pat yourself down to check. Oh, I would be so annoyed if someone would not give me back my space pen. Oh, yeah. Yes, there would be scuffles in the office if someone nicked your space pen.
01:51:03 for what is a very specialized item. Yeah, you really nailed it. We really try to maintain eco-friendliness across the board with this. And again, it's metal. The ink cartridge is recyclable as well. That's cool. Well, chat, if you've got any questions for Eric here, feel free to put them in the chat. Will this space pen survive around in the washing machine? It will. I think it will.
01:51:32 It will, and I don't know if you saw it earlier, but the actual cartridge is sealed off. So even if it goes in the washing machine, the ink's not going to pop out because it's a completely sealed off process. And I know I'm not going to be able to show it here on camera because it's very, very specific. But the only way the ink will come out of the pen is if pressure is applied to it. Okay.
01:51:56 So it's not just going to leak out. That's why it's anti-gravity. So it's not just going to leak out. If I put this, there has to be pressure applied to the ballpoint, which then pushes the nitrogen down on the thixotropic ink, and that forces the ink out of the tip of the pen. Yeah. So I guess, obviously, with something like this, we finally convinced Chat. So now for the final hurdle. For, I guess, your regular classic space pen, how much? So the AG7.
01:52:26 I always call it the anti-gravity Apollo 7 pen. That is the one that is like the legacy. That's the one that you'll see Walt Cunningham or any of the astronauts when they're in space with Apollo 7. That is the pen that's in their hands. Now, again, with the legacy and the history and the sleek design, that pen retails at 79. But we do have other pens across the platform that go as low as...
01:52:52 $24.99, $12.99. And then we have pens that are like our Infinium pen that will literally last your entire lifetime. You'll never need to get an ink refill. You'll never need to get another pen that range upwards of $200 as well. We also have highly customizable pens that go a little bit higher, but those will have like gold flakes inside of them or like in the plunger of the pen. We did a project where we actually
01:53:18 took shavings from some of the satellites and put it in the plunger of the pen and then decorated the entire pen with gold flakes so there's really really cool customizations we can do with it um but the standard pen is typically going to be between i'd say 25 to 80 depending on how um how elegant you would like to go okay like we we have someone in chat going ah yes the lifetime pen is three feet long
01:53:42 Actually, ironically, it's slightly different. Instead of being longer, it's just a little bit thicker. Right. So that's the difference, is it's a thicker pen with a thicker ink cartridge. Yeah. Okay, so just double-checking if we have anything else. But yeah, so we kind of talked, you're not 100% sure how deep you can go, but you guys have tried it, and I'm guessing negative pressure in space.
01:54:12 Probably talking several hundred feet underwater. Again, I don't want to say yes, absolutely, but I would assume it's going to be able to work as deep as we can go at this point. I think it's fair to say that the human body would fail before the pen does. Exactly. Kind of like the mind fails before the body. The mind and body will fail before the pen. Sure. I guess if anyone else has got any chats, we will be giving some away.
01:54:41 So don't worry, Chad. And quickly, do the pens have Bluetooth? Why would you need a pen with Bluetooth? Not yet, no, unfortunately. And I think Bluetooth would probably have some plastic in it. So maintaining the sustainability message, I appreciate the question. But yeah, they're mostly going to be made out of metal and no Bluetooth yet.
01:55:08 Okay. But we do have a blue pen. Maybe that's an alternative. Yeah. I guess sort of as we come to the end of the time we have, is there any last questions from chat? Or is there anything, Eric, you would like to say in honor of World Ocean Month? And we thank you for working with us and with Force Blue, putting together all the stuff that we're doing for Frog Fathers and such.
01:55:36 Yeah, absolutely. I mean, we're just excited to be here. I mean, I think this is just a really, really unique and cool partnership, not only as a gamer, but as a sustainability effort, as an effort to, you know, bring awareness to the planet and just everything in general that you guys represent. You know, we feel very proud to be in synergy with. And I think if I were to.
01:56:02 I'd hope to leave them with the idea that we choose what we carry, we choose who we support, and what we choose to support matters. Whether it's a game, a pen, or a product you use daily, making intentional choices can really lead to a better outcome for the planet. Absolutely. I think that's probably what I would leave it with, is just make sure we're doing things intentionally.
01:56:31 Trying to create a more sustainable planet. And the oceans are a big part of it. Absolutely. And I guess probably for the last question from Chad. Is there a left-handed version? So actually. Important for me because I actually am left-handed. So not to go all the way back to the beginning. Our ink is thixotropic viscoelastic. Which means it dries immediately.
01:56:55 So why do lefties hate pens? It's because they don't dry immediately and then it smears. So as a left-handed person, you can write and you can continue writing without having to worry about it smearing or getting on your hand. So I would say all of our pens, or should I say ink cartridges, are left-handed enabled. I'm putting in an expense report for a $200 pen. This is of vital importance to my work. Nope.
01:57:23 So, again, Chat, thank you for asking all these very interesting questions. Eric, thank you again for being here, taking the time out of your day to join us. Thank you very much, Eric. I did not expect to learn so much about, well, the Space Pen. Very interesting, really. It's cooler than most people give it credit for. I think a lot of people hear Space Pen and they go, well, I don't know when the next time I'll be in Space is, and I don't need a pen that writes in Space.
01:58:18 Very cool. We'll have promotions around the holidays, so stay tuned. Excellent. Again, thank you, Eric. Have a pleasant day and take care. Thank you very much. We appreciate it. Thank you, everybody, for watching. Have fun.
Space Pen Giveaway und weitere Themen
01:58:3201:58:32 Right. Yes, I'm going to put in that request. And I'm going to deny it. I want Space Pen. You're only mad that you haven't thought of that already. But don't worry, chat. As we said, there will be a giveaway for five of Fisher's Space Pens, which will be incredibly simple. Yeah, how are we doing this, Ben? All you need to do is type into chat the word, exclamation mark, space. And don't type...
01:59:01 Don't spell out exclamation mark. I know one of you will. Okay, there we have it. I think this is going to be the only thing we will see in chat till the end of the stream. I'm entering us. I want to win. I want a space pen. It reminds me one of those situations where I was doing, I think, a stream for the Polish community.
01:59:26 And we were doing a giveaway like that. And, you know, I entered in myself to make sure that it works. And of course, who won the giveaway live on stream? Blood Minister. Oh, that's not rigged at all. Yes, yes, yes. But, well.
Yay, Kohl! Du hast du dir das Supercontainer? Du hast du das Supercontainer? Du hast du das Supercontainer? Okay.
02:00:12 Alright, wir können Inchon spielen. Ich werde Willhelm wieder spielen.
02:00:25 Yes. We're good to go. Okay. We have new lighting chat that is right above the gaming monitor. So I can't see half the time of the division. Don't tell me that it bothers you that much. I think it's actually pretty nice. Because we sometimes did struggle with the lights here. And we have ones that are not supposed to be very... Oh, it's miles better than what it used to be before. Fritini did a brilliant job redoing and rebuilding the setup.
02:00:55 As far as we're aware, Eric Bond has no relation to James Bond. But it was kind of funny to hear your comments, guys. Some of you even noted that I was laughing in the background, reading some of them. And it was definitely a part of it. Oh, yeah.
02:01:15 Oh, we've got... Ah, it's one of your lot on the enemy team. I'm sorry, what now? Behold the... No, there's several... Oh, it's a multi-CC division. Jesse Jones, Sparagus, Polish guys. Bring it on! Bring it on! You better carry this, Ben, because they're never gonna forget this. He's in the midway, he's going...
02:01:38 Was ich zu sagen, ist nicht für Twitch's Terms of Service.
02:01:52 The Space Pen Save the Life story was a bit too much. Look, guys, I think what's important out of, you know, this collaboration that we're having with Future and also Force Blue is how it actually impacts the environment. Fructini is drawing winners, RWW36. Please speak up in chat.
02:02:19 So it's ultimately all about sustainability, oceans. And by that, if you decide to get a space plan, which seems actually really cool. I kind of want one. I see nothing wrong with that. SRW, please speak up.
02:02:38 Of course he's coming right for us. Of course he is. Right for me. Jazzy, we control the codes. Jazzy, yeah, I would watch out, man. We control the codes.
02:02:57 Do they only ship in US? I think we can get them outside of the US. So if you're not within the US, it should be fine. I mean, I'm sure that there are some limitations that will be in detail on their page, because what we'll be providing, I think, are codes to use on their page rather than we will be shipping them on their own. Yeah.
02:03:23 All of that information will be provided to the winners. RW, please speak up. It's really annoying that I'm the one who has access to be able to whisper while we're mid-match. I get that, Deadmartin. No worries.
02:04:13 No death charge, don't worry, we have not drawn all the rewards yet. If I win this pen, do you know where Estonia is? Yes, we know where Estonia is.
02:04:40 Do you, Bin? Do you? It's in the Baltic States. Do you? I'm assuming you know. You're Polish. What's the capital of Estonia? Riga. Tallinn. Go home, Bin.
02:05:03 You're mixing it with Latvia. Sorry. GSV58, congratulations, you won. Please speak up in chat. Don't blame Ben, don't blame Ben. Just make fun of him, but don't blame him. Part of the world the Empire never went to. Even though we were asked at one point. That's why I'm asking, you know, that's why I'm asking. Yeah. At one point they asked if they would like to be part of the British Empire. We said no.
02:05:46 TSV 58, are you there? You've won a space pen. Do the winners have to whisper at us? Yes. Okay, just making sure. RWW did whisper, that's good. No, wait, is that the right one? Yes. Okay, I think Fructini is handling it. Thank you, he's logged in. So I can actually pay attention to what we're doing. I am not that good as a one-man band.
02:06:19 We are getting pushed, well, you're getting pushed by the Libertad. I am getting pushed by the Libertad and he's not stopping, so this is the situation we're at right now. Well, let's just keep shooting the enemy Libertad. Yes, yes, that is one of the options. Oh, bloody hell, you Yangtorps. And the Grudens bombing me. Okay, we finally detached from each other.
02:06:43 Come on, where? But I just wish that Libertad would be now... Oh, there he is. And of course, Libertad Baragos. Oh, is it? Oh, it is. Yes, it's him. I will be checking his code logs. Ow, I was irresistible. Oh, oh, you're already gone. Yeah, all of them shot me.
02:07:08 I don't have the button to change your scene. Surely you do, you just don't know which one is it. I'm going to start pushing buttons, let's find out. Yeah, let's not do that. I did it for you. I did it for you. Okay. Last thing you ever wanted to hear in a technical situation. What's this do? Yeah, yeah, yeah. No, no, no, no, no, no. It happens already too often. But not only with you, just to be clear. What if we can't whisper?
02:07:34 If your Twitch settings are set as such, I think we can whisper you. But if not, then that gets more complicated. Well, if you can't whisper...
02:07:49 Maybe we will draw a different winner. Yes. No, but in a serious matter, we'll figure something out, but... It's just a case we'd have to double-check that it is actually you who's claiming to be you. Yeah, that's the point. It's not, you know, about anything else, really. Yes. No, you can't charge your car with the pen. Okay, I need to actually focus on the game a little bit because I know that I'm just going... Front and back. Scared 88.
02:08:18 Congratulations, you have won one of the pens. Why am I not a voice actor? I am a voice actor. My voice is in the game. That is true. You can't get me at the moment. Mr. Cavendish. You can't get me at the moment. Montgomery. But I am actually in the game. Montgomery Cavendish Wellington. At one point I'll remember that, you know? Because, quote, our American colleagues were like, we need the most British possible voice and name we can think of. Hang on a minute, Bin's in the office.
02:08:50 So, Ben, while you're yapping, can you tell me and the chat about the Incheon? I do not play this a lot. So, Incheon is, she has Des Moines guns, or technically more Tulsa's guns, because they're the twin turret version. They have, she has deepwater torpedoes. And how crude am I showing broadside to so many battleships? Yes. Ah, okay. She's a regular cruiser in that regard. Okay. Fortunately, I was lucky. Yes.
02:09:17 Rom, we are not going to add any sort of kamikaze element to the game. Oh, and that was a bad use of my smoke. That is a whole level of controversy and suicide attacks and all of that that we have no interest in implementing into the game. Wait, I'm sorry, what was the question? Because the Dutch battleship gets airstrikes, when can the Japanese battleships use kamikaze weapons? Oh, no, I...
02:09:46 Never say never, but there is some implementation that will be reasonable, but no such plans for now. You know, this game doesn't look that bad for us at this very moment. Can we have the option to select premium special ships for bots in training rooms? We can pass that on to the team.
02:10:13 I don't know if it's clear, but idea is great, isn't it? We have another winner. Yes. Tuck8185. Any news about Blue Archive's second wave? When it comes out, it'll come out. And it should be fairly soon. We teased it, come on. We might have seen the teasers on Twitter and such.
02:10:38 Twitter? Yes. Oh, you mean X. Or as BBC says, as posted on X, formerly known as Twitter. Right. They still say that. I think a lot of news outlets say that all the time. If they source a tweet.
02:10:54 Now TC, we've already discussed this. If we're going to do one of those ships, we do Sheffield because she's got more history. I will then avoid returning to the UK out of fear for my own life. Because I would have insulted everyone in Manchester, Liverpool, Newcastle and Glasgow.
02:11:16 Ich will forever be Greggs-less. Oh my god, let's not get there. The main thing that Bin wishes would not be UK Limited is Greggs. I think Chex would like Greggs. You know what, actually I won't even argue with that because that's probably true.
02:11:39 I'll just be honest, I'm not the biggest fan of Czech cuisine. Okay, okay, time to go. Well, you and Unrugger just said that you can't get good pierogi. That is true. We are very sad about that, actually. Meanwhile, Brooktini can at least get decent schnitzel here.
02:11:58 I think I'm that. Takomaru, EU, congratulations, you have also won. And I was dunded by Jazzy, so get a look at those CC codes that we're giving him. Oh yes, of course. Yeah, thank you, thank you, thank you, I appreciate it. Yes, don't worry, I will inform the powers that be. Good, good, good. I hope you still win this game, Raya. Yeah, I mean, he's on 2200 health.
02:12:28 And he just got submarined. Yeah, but Slim eats good cheese food. It's a little jazzy, but Napolit. I want a sausage roll, Slim. And that's it. British cuisine. Soundbug with NexOps, that is something that the team is aware of and are working on a fix for. Ted785, congratulations, you have also won.
02:12:56 Please whisper us. I do have to give it to Jazzy. Even when he was there, he still managed to sink the Libertad in our team. How many more pens do we have to give away? Three more. Okay. Three more winners. I think we've got three more to claim.
02:13:24 Gregs' awful trash debasing humanity with Greece. Philistines. I'm just reading what the chat is. I know who Wix is too, so. Welinda? Welinda? Welinda? Congratulations. Congratulations. Please send us a whisper.
02:13:49 Can the PC stop telling me that I have firmware update, Ferb? Dastardly says absolutely correct. Your names will also go on the list. Don't worry about his list. It grows ever longer.
02:14:04 Das ist das Ding, Slim Chap. Da sind keine Sausage Rolls in diesem Land. Believe me, I've looked. I bet you'd... Well, I know you're a vegetarian, but I think you would like them. No, okay, Chap. Story time. When we had the offline event at Chatham, Blood Minister... I was still in the UK. Blood Minister kam all the way to the UK to Chatham for the event.
02:14:31 I had never been to Chatham once in my life, and he walks up to me and goes, take me to a fish and chip shop. I'm a pescaterian, just to be clear. I eat fish and seafood. Okay, you know what? I like to joke about British cuisine, but fish and chips, like proper fish and chips. I found the right kind of place. Jesus, so good, guys. Like, seriously. It's nothing that I...
02:15:00 was supposed to resemble fish and chips in anywhere else. And someone says that Greg does a veggie version of sausage rolls. Every now and again you'll see fish and chips on a menu here in Prague and all the guys will be like, are you going to try this? I don't trust fish and chips from a landlocked country. I'm sure it's fine.
02:15:23 Fish and chips are great, Grecks are garbage. You know, guys, look, I'm sure that sooner or later I'm going to be back to the UK and I'll promise you, if I ever see Grecks, I'll go there just for those experimental purposes to try vegetarian or vegan or whatever they are, those Grecks sausage rolls. Termfolk 72, congratulations, you have won one of the codes.
02:15:51 I bet you eat bacon too. Most very vegan vegetarian. I know that does break their rule for bacon. No, I do not eat bacon. Although sometimes I miss it a bit, you know. Yep, we got 10 folk. Good, good.
02:16:10 I did have vinegar. I did have vinegar. Yes, I mean, I just ordered the regular for him. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And I actually loved it with vinegar. Like, seriously. Tenfort, World of Warships, I think we've already contacted you.
02:16:24 It was really, really good. I still remember it. So greasy, by the way. I mean, the proper kind of chip shop, you walk in and you can just feel the grease in the air. If you drop to Lit Match, the entire place goes up. That is how you know it's a good chip shop. Right. We have another winner. Yes. Downriver Rick. Yes. Congratulations. Please send us a message. Congratulations.
02:16:49 Okay, I mean, I feel like I need to send them a compliment, Raya. Okay, you will, I won't.
02:16:59 Greggs have a special red pepper, feta and spinach bake right now. How much do I not trust that? It's like, I love Greggs, but I know it ain't good for me. And it's something like, okay. All right. How many more do we have, sir? Did Ben get me a pickled egg with it? No, I didn't get him a pickled egg. I was trying to make a good impression for my boss, not kill him.
02:17:28 Yes, pickled eggs are a thing in the UK. I'm not sure if I want to know. It's exactly what you think it is. Okay. Yeah. Sounds questionable, let's put it at that. Yeah, my dad likes them. Maybe it's actually very good. Are we all done? Okay, because you did that, so I'm like, is that one or all done? Thank you. So which one is it? One more. Okay. Yes.
02:17:53 Delauny. Wait, original fish and chips was fried in beef fat, hence it being so tasty. Like beef tallow. Okay, that's interesting. Yours weren't. Now I am wondering if I had that. No, no. Look, I'm not so, you know, stiff in my pescetarian life, so it would not, you know, end my world if I would by mistake had some... No, no, those chips were your classic vegetable oil. Okay, okay, that's good. Yes.
02:18:20 You know, my problem with it is if I would have constant access to fish and chips like that, I would eat them all the time and maybe I would no longer be here. Yeah, well, Delaney, congratulations. You will be contacted.
02:18:35 By us. And that means that all five of the pens have been given away. As soon as my colleague to my right gives me a thumbs up to mean done, not one more. Which is very confusing.
02:18:59 All right, that was a very interesting stream, right? Yes, I learned a lot, and now I need to go buy a pen. You know, like we're laughing, but I'm actually getting a pen like that for myself. I mean, I'm doing it purely for the, I'm left-handed, so I'm tired of writing something and then realizing all of that is blue. Yeah, true, true, true. It is a practical benefit. Blood Minister, the rule is fish and chips is a Friday treat, is it?
Okay. Okay. Unless you live near one.
02:19:55 Do you miss your fish and chip place? I do. But it was also one of those places that you went so often that they recognised you and then you have to ask that question of, do I come here too often?
02:20:08 Okay. Well, we seem to have given everything that we wanted. Yes, we have. I think everyone contacted us, or hopefully they did, or we will maybe then try to contact you back. Thank you guys for tuning in. Really, really cool stream. Great to see so many of you, and you're asking a lot of really cool questions or leaving a lot of really cool comments.
News!
02:21:04 Oder put it in a more exciting way. Super duper great news. Yes, no, there is some great news coming, actually. There is, there is, there is. All right, so we're going to head off now. Again, thank you, everyone, for joining us. I hope you all have a pleasant evening and week. And enjoy the trailer for Frog Fathers 2. Take care. Take care. Bye-bye.
02:21:34 My name is Steve Gonzales, retired Navy Master Chief and Special Projects and Events Director for Force Blue. Last summer, to honor the 80th anniversary of D-Day, World of Warships invited myself and three of my Navy SEAL brothers to take part in a very special trip to Normandy, France. There, with the help of the Navy SEAL Museum and a production team from Force Blue, we traced the footsteps and told the stories of our forefathers.
02:22:01 der Naval Combat Demolition Units, who help clear the way for the Allied invasion.
02:22:38 Japanes, at a level of discipline, dedication, and zealotry that no one had ever seen. Our enemy knows the score, so do we, and we're going to go head to head. War is man's common enemy. For some reason, we just refuse to learn that lesson. The price that was paid for the lives that we live today, if we don't carry it forward, we're doing those veterans such a huge disservice.
02:23:05 When we're down rebuilding a reef in the same spot almost 80 years prior that a frogman was down there laying demo, I think that'll be a really surreal moment. We look forward to having you with us as we pay homage to the fallen and continue to celebrate the service and sacrifice of America's greatest generation.
